Very explicit video, but I’ve seen some just pulling them out without unscrewing anything!
Thinking of taking the risk and replace them the fast way😎
I hear ya. The clips are pretty small and fragile, but for sure possible. I just received som larger carbon paddle shifters, so I have to take everything apart again 🤦🏻♂️
Follow the video step by step, I was able to replace the buttons on my x5m, great vid bro, just need you to do a vid about replacing the stop start button 👍🏿👍🏿
This helped me a lot. Thanks.
Tried using the Torx driver to release the airbag and gave up after 15 minutes. Watched another video and used a flathead screwdriver positioned flat (0900/1500) and it popped right out.
You can just pry out the black buttons with a plastic trim tool. No steering wheel disassembly required
Possible for sure, just a little more risk of accidentally breaking one of the original tabs.
I don’t see how knowing there are two plastic clips attached to the small enclosure which is screwed to the steering wheel.
Nice. Are you changing the stop start button to a red one? I have done so, oh a quick tip, add a bit of carbon trim to wheel as it's off too 🔥
In a more recent videos I did the start/stop button as well as new carbon shifters
@@Donslife nice one. What colour are your shifters and are they awkward to use or same kinda size as the oem?
@@javidrana3720 hey Javid. They are normal carbon fiber weave but are longer in the top and bottom. Just like the originals, you still beed to pull in the thicker area closer to center or you might not trigger the shift
Good content but why did you buy an automatic? Manual is the only way to go
Thanks GP! If I could have found one in my area of the country, I would have. The pool to shop from in Central Canada is not the best. That being said, there are some fun aspects of this specific DCT transmission. Launch 🚀 Control is one ☝🏼
Watched three videos and all of them act like the airbag removal is the easiest part. Been fighting mine for half an hour.
Anyone have any idea how to replace the rubber control buttons for the cruise control (tabbed) and on the other side of the steering wheel that's non-tabbed?
Where can I get a blue start button. 1 site wanted $180
Which country are you in? Are you looking for one for and M4 too? I can probably help find one for you.
@@Donslife hey I live in Ireland. I ordered 1 lastnight ill see if it fits hope so 🤔.. thank you for your reply 🙏 😊
Sounds good. I am considering getting a blue one as well and replace the red M buttons with blue ones. Good luck!!
I changed my M^ buttons and they just popped off and plugged in. This video is unnecessary.
Could u pls show me how to remove the silver trim "res" and "mode"?
Next time I take apart the steering wheel, I will have a closer look. Right now I am not sure if the trim piece is attached by plastic tabs/clips, screws or something else.
@@Donslife yeah what that guy said 😂 the “res” on mine is worn out. Ordering a whole new switch is like 270$
