Good Video! Gotta say Suzuki sure makes it a job to check or change a spark plug on a cruiser! My wife rides an S40 and i have to take the seat and tank off to get to the plug. On my victory the plugs and wires can be changed in a 1/2 hour. Not knocking Suzuki though, fantastic motorcycles for sure.
Knock the hell out of Suzuki, I just got a C90 and hate the way the whole bike is designed, it is not new, I would not get a new Japanese bike, they are not designed as they should be and almost as bad as Harley's. Yeah, to get to the plugs you have to pull the so called tank sides off the first time, next time do not, just lift the plug side up some.
I got the 800, decided I'm fixing my own. Just need to be sure boot is supposed to be removable from coil cause that's the only way in getting the new one back in lol
A piece or relay part right under the right side fuel tank caught fire. Luckily I put it on time , why would it get hot or on fire? I was adjusting the idle at the time and it’s been backfiring
If you ever do cross thread or strip the threads putting the plug back in and you will know this immediately as the tightening will become real tight real fast, unthread the plug and try to rethread it very slowly, not all of this mechanical stuff goes quick.
Stewart... The hold downs screws for the cover are over 10 inches long and the front bolt will not clear the tank.. Am I going to have to remove the gas tank to get them out... this is on the right side.. 2008 Boulevard 1400 S 83. After I saw this I stopped..
DUH... Face palm to me... I did not notice that the spark plugs are under the cover that the exhaust pipe is on.. Once I realized that everything came together.. Thanks Stewart.. it was my not watching carefully.
It is a shame you don't have a carb, you would only have to lean that out some, there would be a small flat head screw to twist counter clock wise and you would not have to change the plug.
I really don't understand why people create content, but don't bother to pick up a cheap camera stand so that we, the veiwer can actually see what you're doing ????? It's like turning up to a building job without any tools !!!
You know what I think the same thing when I look back at my old videos, some were pretty bad, but I like to think I got a little better over time and I was working with what I had 😆. Thank for watching anyway and maybe if I get another Intruder in the shop I will redo this video. I hope it helped though.
Thanks for the great vid. I changed my plugs today. Got the slightly hotter ones. Bike goes like a rocket now. Thanks

Thanks for this video! Did you find that lowering the plug (from an 8 to a 7) made a difference after some use?
