I drove up from Tucson to see the show at the tournament location, then found out it was cancelled due to extremely high winds. The crew at the lake stage let me know that The Petersens were going to do an impromptu show at the Bass Pro Shop in downtown Vegas. It was a fantastic show considering how small the stage was and the quick set up. The band showed their professionalism and talent. The small area was in the corner of the store's showroom and had only enough space for a few dozen folks to stand. The family came to mingle with us in the audience after the first set. The short, light conversation I had with Katie showcased, to me, their appreciation for their fans. I hope to make it to Branson one day to catch them performing to a full crowd. Thanks to the Petersens for making my drive well worth while.

Love all the Petersens' dry humour. It often seems like a competition to see who can avoid breaking into a broad grin first. And you all have great smiles! Matt's tumbleweed comment reminded me of the time I drove to Las Vegas and it rained so hard the hotel basement carparks flooded several feet deep. All part of a great idea I had to drive around the American west for my birthday in January, because I thought the weather would suit my cold climate genes better. I happened to pick an El Nino year. Ended up trapped in another hotel in coastal California while emergency services dealt with chunks of the coast falling into the sea during torrential rain.
i think this may have been mentioned but to say it again, i know Adam does a lot for you all as many do, but thank you for saving them! was on a field exercise and they forgot to order a bus to take us home so the commander. and first sergeant used their credit cards to rent all the rental cars and trucks available to get us back home. God delivers help to us in many ways. Thanks Adam!

Currently dealing with a knee injury, so I definitely feel the pain of being the least mobile person in a crowd. If you want to see what happens when the desert gets watered naturally, I highly recommend Big Bend National Park in September. It's amazing to see the brown desert turn to grassland and wildflowers after the July-August rainy season.
Even though it’s awesome when a flight is held for you It’s a bit uncomfortable when you arrive hot sweaty and out of breath, then all the judgmental eyes on you while you and your carry on make your way to your seat. Fun video.
