This is a great tablet for kids and anyone who just wants a very simple little gadget for simple games and ebooks. This gadget is $59. People expect a lot for something so simple. People have to have more reasonable expectations.
I bought the previous model about a year ago. It works really nicely for emulating a few of my favorite DS and GBA games, and does ok at most other things I throw at it (within reason!), but the build quality is kinda shoddy, I actually had to glue the back panel in because it kept separating. This one looks like a much more refined design! I think I’ll probably upgrade to this one later this year.
The fact that you had to glue the panel in worries me about their QC, because these tablets are aimed towards kids. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing your experience!
@@UndergroundTechironically, it first detached while I tried to remove the “rugged” protective case they sell specifically for it. So the thing they sell to protect it, damaged it. Perhaps it’s not worth your time, but I think would be nice to compare these two models just to see if the upgrade is worthwhile or if it’s just nicer looking.
@@UndergroundTech yeah it was quite shocking to see the back separating from the screen just like that. Thankfully, since it’s plastic, it bonded very well to the super glue; so now it’s pretty solid.
I wish it was sold in my country. Would be a perfect sized, cheap tablet for manga reading. I'm currently using Fire HD 8 (using Tachiyomi and now Mihon) but it's a big heavy especially reading while laying down
Does it have a GPS chip inside? Looking for a 7" tablet to use on my motorcycle as a gps platform. At $60, I won't mind as much if something happens to it.
I’m debating getting one of these just for e reading with my library hoopla app, or playing word search games. Do you think it could be sufficient for that? Thanks!!
@@EddiePepper poor people need decent computing devices that will last not cheap garbage I have used those cheap Walmart things and they come filled with bloatware and microplastics
@@gvideulus Clive Sinclair created a really cheap computer in the early 80's that helped many poor English people get into computer careers later on in their lives, and it was a it would make the Fire Tablet seem like a Macbook Pro compared to the ZX81.

That makes sense, but still kind of crazy it came off after just removing a case.

I like symmetrical bezels. So this one's perfect! As long as it runs Mihon, it's a good deal.

I do that too. I buy the prepaid phones, never activate them and use them as a tablet. They are a quarter of the price of the unlock version. 👍
The battery on my ONN 7 2022 is going bad.... Thinking about getting this new one or the 8 inch.
