Nice explanation..but the example u took at the end to explain the syllable wasn't correctly applied....it should be plan/ et not pla/ net...if u teaching phonics it's an important thing to consider. Which totally changes the pronunciation . It's a closed syllable. Rest u doing great 👍 ...keep it up
Hello Mam, In the Magic E rule for letters a e ( for example tape we sounds as t a p e = a sounds as a ) then in the word have , a sounds as different means as short vowel even Magic E came at the end ) . Please assist . Also for O E words for example note = o sounds as o but in words like Dove, Love, Some , Come = O sounds is different as अ
Have, some- these words are exceptions for this rule . You will find few exception words for almost all English spelling rules. Smaller wires like have some these come under sight words list . Sight words are the words which are frequently found in English sentences and which do not follow phonic rules so we just remember them by sight .
Also vowels have one more sound (other than short and long) called schwa sound which sounds like अ. Unstressed ‘uh’ sound . It is found in many words like love dove mother father etc
