Such a helpful video, thank you! I got this film in the Analogue Wonderland subscription box - it's been great to see your work with this film and hear your experiences. At the moment my film photography is family lifestyle orientated, so it's great to see how well Lomo 400 renders skin tones. I'm excited to use this stock now! Xx
I’m so glad you found it useful! I love that the Wonderbox has allowed you to discover this stock because honestly I think Lomography 400 and 800 are such beautiful film stocks. It’ll definitely be great for your family lifestyle work. I’m sure you’ll love it!
@@SophiaCarey I've found so many of your videos helpful - analogue and digital based! It's my first box and I'm buzzing! Just need to finish off my current film... 🙈😂 Xx
@@whentaniatalks ah I’m so so glad, thank you so much for watching! And ahhh I can’t wait to see how you find it! Definitely let me know once you’ve shot it!
They’re both definitely on my list! I heard that 100 is quite a bit punchier so I’m interested to see how that fares. Did you prefer one over the other? And thank you so much! ✨
@@SophiaCarey I think Lomo 800 it will be my favorite Lomo film. It's a great competitor for the amazing Portra 800. Maybe it's because it's based on a Kodak film. Also, check for a film called Kino 400, it's brand new color film.
That’s interesting! I haven’t personally had any issues with it such as what you’re describing, but I do find that it can be a more difficult film stock to load, so it might be that the light leaks are due to the loading/unloading process? Ive found it can be trickier to load regardless of the camera, and sometimes it doesn’t wind back as tightly as I’d like it to.
Were you shooting with a pro mist, or does the lens used in this video have slight hazing? I’m seeing some blooming / washing here that is more likely caused by filtration or haze rather than the film stock itself. (Cold also be the scans.)
Hey Sophia! I really love your videos and learn so much from you - do you edit your film portraits in Lightroom at all or do you leave them as they are straight off the roll?
lomo is really interesting. for some reason i think its similar to fuji films but has its own twist. looking forward to seeing some future cinestill 800t portraits? O_o
I guess it is! I find that Fuji Pro 400H is a lot more on the green side and less accurate with skin tones than Lomo 400 and Portra 400 though. I actually did a ton of Cinestill 800T portraits recently but didn’t push them in development like I intended to so they’re pretty unusable 😭 I’ll have to refilm that ASAP!
Wowza these shots are so elegant love the lomo vibes they really bring out such vibrancy and atmosphere to the images 🥳🥳
Thank you! For sure, Lomo has such a great vibrancy to it!
I love the haziness of the film shots! 📸
Thanks for watching Kofi! ✨
Thanks for the review. I never considered shooting with Lomo and I think I’ll give it a try!
Thanks for watching! I’d definitely give it a try and see what you think!
Wonderful tones! Had never heard of this film stock. Definitely interesting!
It’s a great stock, I’d definitely recommend it!

I’m going to try this film stock as well.
Your pictures are beautiful and the colors are amazing
I think you’ll love it! And thank you so much!
I tried Lomo 800 and Lomo 100 and are also a very good quality film. I love you shots! Un abrazo

Oooh, I'll check that out! Thank you!
Hi ! Sorry I just want to ask. Have you try to push Lomo 100 to 400 ?
@@penoul4842 no, not really. What I normally do is over expose by 1 stop or maybe 2. I mean I rate the film on 50 or 25 ISO
I have had some bad experiences with Lomo 800 for 120. Aka Light leaks and faulty film. Did you have any issues using Lomo 400 after the video?

Really enjoyed this and watching your journey. Really beautiful shots.
Thank you so much!
Been wanting to shoot this film stock for ages and I think I'm gonna grab one and give it a try, it definitely looks good!
I’d definitely recommend it! I want to get my hands on Lomo 800 next!
Nice, it definitely seems to have a bit more of an "old school" look and feel
Yeah I think you’re right there
Wowww I absolutely love all of these mate! Lomo 400 is so nice!
Thank you so much! It really is 😍
Been waiting for this video for a minute! Still out of stock everywhere! Killed it as always mate 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much! 💛
what camera and lens did you use for the portraits?
I used the Mamiya RZ67 with the 110mm 2.8 lens
Interesting that you said that Lomo complements your digital work. In what sense? Thanks for the video!
Hey! In regards to the way that I tend to edit my digital photos! In terms of colours and tones, if that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

Yep, it’s a lens with haze!
@@SophiaCarey thanks!
Hello! :) Did u use a mist Filter like a Tiffen Pro mist? Or does the film use render highlights really soft? :))
Hey! No I didn’t use any filters but I did over expose
@@SophiaCarey wow Crazy! Thanks a lot! 🥳
Amazing work, I actually liked the tones of this one better 😁👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much! And I do too! Definitely want to experiment with it some more
Hey Sophia! I really love your videos and learn so much from you - do you edit your film portraits in Lightroom at all or do you leave them as they are straight off the roll?
Hey! Thank you so much! It really depends on the shoot and if I’m scanning myself. These rolls in this video haven’t been edited!
You photograph such fascinating faces! Great work!
Thank you! ✨

Hahaha you’ll have to make it happen!
