I'm a person who cleans their surfaces very often and especially in this corona situation, so I'm kind of doubtful that there is dirt there but if some dust has really decided to make itself home in there well damn...
It's always worth trying just be careful not to use too much rubbing alcohol. You don't want to accidentally short anything. Let me know how it goes:)

Where could i buy cheap replacement keys for this kind of keyboard? I need to replace like 3 keys (broken) and i dont really feel like spending 30 bucks for just 3 keys
Typically on Amazon or eBay you can find pretty good deals.
Please help me, I have the same keys in this video, but my WASD keys were broken because I mostly press on the edges of the WASD keys. Now they’re loose and don’t attach to the laptop itself very well. Every time I put them back in and press on them, they just bounce out of place whenever I use that key. I’ve noticed that 4 protrusions at each corner at the bottom of the keys are snapped. Should I go to the Best Buy and buy a replacement or just buy the plastic frame? Also is it possible to buy just those keys itself (including the plastic frames) if so where can you find them. I really appreciate if you can help me with this situation.
Usually you have to buy a replacement keyboard and take the keys off of that if you are looking to replace some of the keys. You can usually get replacement keyboards on eBay or Amazon. Also it is a good idea to practice taking the keys off with keys you don't need to replace so you can get the hang of it.
@@EggheadFixers its on a laptop though. I basically have the same exact gaming laptop as shown on this video. But the only difference is that its Dell but the keys look exactly like the one I have now. Im just looking where can I find these Dell replacement keys to this exact laptop.

Is there anything that is underneath that is jamming the keys? Also when you say not working are the keys falling off or is not registering your key stroke?
is it safe to remove all of the key caps just so I can clean it underneath? i just want to remove the dust particles on the keyboard
You run the risk of breaking them every time you remove them. So you shouldn't remove them unless you have to remove them
Hey could you help me my laptop when it turn on normally but when i press any buttons it will turn off
It could be some sort of short on the keyboard. Sometimes when they start to break it can cause weird problems like that.
So is this how i fix my "e" not working everytime I push it? Its also a little loose feeling, like while oush it in, will wriggle a little side to side
Does register the keystroke at all? Because if you can not get to type at all then it probably will not help with that. However, it will help if it is loose and the keystroke only registers sometimes.
@@EggheadFixers it registers the keystroke maybe ten percent of the time.
I was looking for how to fix the key when I found your video.
@@xlXDR0N3Xlx Unforunately you typically would replace the keyboard with a problem like that. When the key doesn't registera stroke it's usually a short in the keyboard.
Hi... is thier any spare keyboard? Sales
Hello! Sometimes on Ebay you can find replacement keyboards but it depends on the model. What model Asus do you have?
Egghead Fixers thanks
@@RoysteinEmmor You're welcome:)
When typing and playing games, I've slammed some keys and now even if I press them or hold them, they don't work. Will this help that?
That sounds more like a short in the keyboard or possibly a loose connection. So in that case you would need to try reconnecting the keyboard cable or replacing the keyboard altogether if that doesn't work.
Hello there
I have asus m509 laptop.
I am facing the keyboard problem, some of keys in my laptop is stuck and not coming in there place properly. I just want to know that can i replaced some keys of my laptop like this or what?
Please reply to My question, i am confused right now that's why.
If you buy a replacement keyboard off of ebay then yes you can replace individual keys. Some people find this to be an easier option then replacing the whole keyboard or palmrest. let me know if you have anymore questions:)
Hey! Where can I buy original replacements?
Good question! Ebay and Amazon are great places to buy replacement keyboards. We buy most of new and used parts on these site. Hope that helps:)
Egghead Fixers yes! Thanks a lot! Other question I have is, do they sell like the entire keyboard on these sites? Or just some keys?
@@linkt6Happy we could help! Depends on the model. Sometimes you can find sellers selling the individual keys but usually you are stuck buying the whole keyboard.
Egghead Fixers thanks! One final question (I hope haha) is it possible to change the keyboard of a RoG G731 to a Spanish keyboard (physical)? And is it easy to find one of those? I haven't been able to find a Spanish one! :c
@@linkt6 We don't mind questions! This is a newer computer which is never a bad thing:) but it will be harder to find parts for it. The older the computer the more parts availability. This model has what is called a french inset keyboard which looks amazing but we don't recommend replacing this keyboard unless you absolutely have to, the reason being the keyboard has to be broken off the palmrest in order to replace it. You can also just replace the whole palmrest which is an easier option. Hope that helps!
What laptop is that?
Asus ROG FZ50 Series
Does this also apply for GL704G?
I can't find replacement keys anywhere... not even on their website.
I found a replacement keyborad on Ebay for that model. Here is the link : www.ebay.com/itm/New-for-Asus-ROG-GL704-GL704GM-GL704GV-GL704GW-GL704S7CM-US-Keyboard-Backlit/133210063332?hash=item1f03f041e4:g:TJAAAOSwP0Zdsu5i

My : and ; key has been loosen, when i put it back on it works but if i click on it at the bottom right it comes off
You can take the key cap off another key and compare to see if it is installed correctly.
Hi. Not sure if you're still replying to comments but I tried what you did in the video and when I press down on the key it is loose compared to all of the other keys. I checked the parts up close to see if anything is broken or cracked, but that's not the case... help??
Sorry to hear that:( I would take just the key cap off a similar key so you can compare to see if its set in there correctly. Let me know how it goes:)
Where can I find replacement keys for Asus g531gw model ?

how to buy the keycab?
Best place to find them is on ebay. You can usually get a replacement key cap or at least a replacement keyboard and take the key cap off of that.

Does anyone know if the asus rog key dimensions are the same across all models? Particularly strix models. Can't find my specific model at an affordable price but every other strix key looks identical. Want to verify before ordering
You would have to see if the part number on the keyboard is the same. Sometimes they will use the same keyboard across a bunch of models.
Hi. I have been trying to attach my key back on to my ASUS ROG STRIX G531GT and the key has two little box like pieces on the bottom side of the key. I know what my problem is but I can’t fix it. It essentially needs to slide into the box pieces to lock its position in, however it can’t due to the physical limitations of the key/keyboard. All I can do is push down, and it stays loose. I can’t slide it in to the boxed pieces to prevent it from moving loosely.
That's too bad:( Another option is replacing the keyboard and/or Palmrest. It's a little more costly but it will fix it. Let me know if you have any questions:)

I have a Rog Strix G513 that I've always used with an external keyboard and one of the keys started to type by itself. I had to use KeyTweak to disable it and keep the laptop usable, but it's unbelievable that a keyboard I've barely used and is not even 10 months old gets this problem. Take an advice, don't buy Asus laptops, and if you can, just go with a desktop computer
Wow, that's crazy. It definitely should have lasted longer without any problems.
I pulled my 's' key too but it is still not functioning 🥺 what should I do?
In what way does it not work? It doesn't read your key stroke or the key doesn't stay on?
Wish there were options to replace clear/white keys WASD keys on these gaming laptops with black options!
I could see that 👍
