This is one of the most amazing videos about swimming/breaststroke I've ever seen. Every swimmer should see it!

This video is very helpful. Clear concise narration and demonstration. Maybe someday breaststroke will not be my worst stroke. Or will at least be as good as the rest of them.
The kick is what I find the hardest. Then the timing next hardest. At least at this point.
Thank you for making videos like these.

Paris Wolf same, any other videos to help with that? Ive been trying to find videos for those specific things - kick and timing.

Thank you. I really struggle with breaststroke, it's what always slows me down in IM. Hopefully, now it feels way more natural and less like a floppy fish!

Okay Adam Peaty barely glides🤣wonderful tips tho

Because it's probably more about distance brststroke, than sprints. When you sprint, you don't glide as much.

Breaststroke is usually a sprint, though.

jade baboolal Haha neither does Lilly King, who also swam for the Hoosiers. People are built differently and different techniques work for different people. That’s probably why the world record holders, (or even the top competitors from year to year) in the 100 are different from the ones in the 200. The 200 breaststrokers have bodies better suited for a “gliding” technique than 100 breaststrokers, and the 100 breaststrokers are built better for a fast arm turnover. But I agree, he gave some great tips for breaststroke

Cody is better than adam at the 200breast Adam is more of a 100 guy so his stroke rate will be different.

I'm confused on what part/position is the least efficient....

    • @ayman20888
      @ayman20888 4 роки тому

when breathing, because of drag. you can see that position causes somewhat of stop moment.

I have to leave a comment before many swimmers come after Ian’s 49.

Well, how I can see. Despite of the fact that Cody has 2 Olympic medals, his technique is terribly wrong. Arms don’t actually grab water because of the angle between his elbow and the water. Head straightly looks forward instead of being a little bit lower. He does not help to push himself by his back (he is doing it only by his arms, a lot of other useful muscles can be used) after grabbing water.

Antony Denisenko yeah, his technique is shockingly bad

Give me and example of "good technique" please, show me someone. Cody is almost perfect in technique by the way.

@@keepyupy2334 but it works he has much less drag cause his technique allows him to keep his hips right at the surface he is pulling less water with less power with much less drag so it works

Yes, Cody Miller's form isn't perfect or textbook, but I've seen too many top swimmers have their own 'form' which is either good enough or capable of breaking the world record. Janet Evans asymmetrical free style windmill stroke comes to mind.

so what's wrong with this guy, if he makes everything perfect why is he nobody?

Merlin Fan Club Cody Miller or Ray Looze? Can’t tell if trolling but Cody has two Olympic medals and Ray is a pretty established coach.

    • @sebastianfernandez5148

Hahaha, he makes everything perfect and for that reason he competed in the 2016 Olympics and was the breastroke leg in the medley relay with Michael Phelps, Ryan Murphy, Nathan Adrian, and he train with the best breaststroker in the world Lilly king. So he is not nobody. And also American record holder of 200 breast and 100 breast short course
