first of all, about Reggie Miller, we got people watching and into the game that were either not ALIVE during the peak of Reggie's career but people that were and are still here to talk about it, theyll all tell you something similar. he wasnt great on defense but he was above average. he had a tremendous basketball iq, he was tenacious and tough as they come and he was the most clutch player in the league aside from MJ but even there you'd have an arguement to say it was Miller. this man wasn't just an all time great when it came to shooting, nah, this man would rattle off 12 three pointers in 2 quarters and be 12/15 from behind the arc with the 12 coming on a streak of consecutive 3s with no misses. him and Ray Allen are very similar players as far as the style of their game and their beautiful jump shots. reggie was just ugly so people dont realize LMAO . you gotta remember that there was NO ONE on those eastern conference finals games against the bulls aside from Mark Jackson who was an all time great playmakers but he didnt have a big man to just feed the ball to or to open up shots for him on a high level. you literally had the 2 best players in the league on the same team with the 90s bulls. my boy Reggie is a killer but he might not even be the best basketball player in his immediate family as his sister was a superstar.

Any player on a top 10 list, even at #10 is ranked really high....there are probably a hundred amazing shooting guards since the history of the league in the mid 40's.. I know I can name a ton of them all elite scorers at their peaks... Since I prefer mostly oldschool, here's 10 often forgotten SGs I consider way up there: Jerry West (One of the best shooters throughout the 60's and early 70's) Earl Monroe (Loved the Pearl he was flashy and fun to watch, especially with the Bullets) David Thompson (Rediculous talent, MJ before MJ pretty much) Charlie Scott (elite scorer on bad Suns teams till he got to Boston and helped them win another title) Sam Jones (the ultimate clutch shooter in the Finals!) Hal Greer (Another great clutch shooter) Phil Chenier (before injury he was one of the best shooting guards of the 70's, nice replacement to the Pearl in Washington) Paul Westphal (Elite scoring guard for the Suns in the late 70's, took them to the Finals once and got close a few more times) Pete Maravich (stuck on bad teams unfortunately, but he could do it all offensively) Andrew Toney (ask the Celtics in the early 80's about him lol)

I like your series Mustard, but think you are a little disrespectful to players who came before 1985 (perhaps before your time), and while I agree that players and the league has gotten better and better (greater athleticism and skill sets), there have always been players who pushed the envelope and played ahead of their time. One thing I have found interesting is to trace player development at different positions (and different sizes) over the course of NBA history. One thing I noticed is that all the really great guards prior to George Gervin and David Thompson (mid-70's) were pretty much combo guards who possessed the greatest perimeter skill sets of their time, and one of the very best all around, 2-way guards that you left out was Walt Frazier, who co-led the Knicks to 2 out 3 titles (and 6 straight EC finals) and resembled the IT led Pistons in certain ways. Another wizard who came along was Pete Maravich, though he didn't play much D, wrecked his knees pretty early on, and never really played for a contender.

@@Max-kv8uw he does
@@Max-kv8uw he does and I think you dont watch basketball in old time so that’s why you don’t consider him as top 10 pint guard
@@tmac731 true
first of all, about Reggie Miller, we got people watching and into the game that were either not ALIVE during the peak of Reggie's career but people that were and are still here to talk about it, theyll all tell you something similar. he wasnt great on defense but he was above average. he had a tremendous basketball iq, he was tenacious and tough as they come and he was the most clutch player in the league aside from MJ but even there you'd have an arguement to say it was Miller. this man wasn't just an all time great when it came to shooting, nah, this man would rattle off 12 three pointers in 2 quarters and be 12/15 from behind the arc with the 12 coming on a streak of consecutive 3s with no misses. him and Ray Allen are very similar players as far as the style of their game and their beautiful jump shots. reggie was just ugly so people dont realize LMAO . you gotta remember that there was NO ONE on those eastern conference finals games against the bulls aside from Mark Jackson who was an all time great playmakers but he didnt have a big man to just feed the ball to or to open up shots for him on a high level. you literally had the 2 best players in the league on the same team with the 90s bulls. my boy Reggie is a killer but he might not even be the best basketball player in his immediate family as his sister was a superstar.
My top 10 in order
1. MJ
2. Kobe
3. Harden (I know very controversial)
4. Wade
5. Clyde
6. A.I
7. Ice man
8. Ray
9. Klay
10. T-Mac
Honorable mentions: David Thompson, Sid Moncrief, Joe D, Reggie, and Mitch Richmond
Nope. Wade is 3. It’s not controversial
@@jasonmoukala8909 I feel that, but harden for sure the 3rd best shooting guard though, an mvp, better scorer, shooter, playmaker, handles, just a better player, simple!
How old are you?
I’d give harden a nod for 4th greatest shooting guard but putting him at 3 with zero rings is just not right. Dwade was a monster.
@@thc0106 he's not better than him in any of those categories come playoff time
I think t-Mac had goat potential & talent but I think the playoff struggles & those back spasms & those knee & shoulder injuries slowed him down…. On top that his prime was like 2001-2005 in my opinion because of those injuries…. I wish he didn’t get hurt & would made a deep playoff run or squeaked out one title in Houston when he was healthy though
I modeled my game after T Mac. I got good enough to make the High School team off that style.
That list is 🔥
I agree with the list outside of AI should be 4 Harden 5 Glide 6
Nah, dude glide actually showed up in playoff games, the other two choked to much.
@@framerofworlds9984 A.I. didn't choke... he was the only player the sixers had
@@bowtiebann9630 ai dropped 40 in the finals and the rest of his team did nothing and this dude said he choked that’s how you know these bums don’t watch basketball
Venom you named one game when Ai has had other playoff series where he choked without question
Bro no ai is not better then harden not really close ai so overrated
Great video
My list is spot on with yours 100%
My only question is, how can you penalize AI for lack of playoff success then have Harden 2 spots above him with even less playoff success and worse defense.
Was Jerry West (the logo) on the PG list? If not y'all gotta kick someone. Guess I gotta go watch that.
Great work and I almost agree with you except I will put Reggie higher than Rayray (leadership and clutch and I think, like a lot off old guy, that he is really underrated!!! ) and Harden can't be this higher for me... TMac also questionable
Thanks for this video!
Any player on a top 10 list, even at #10 is ranked really high....there are probably a hundred amazing shooting guards since the history of the league in the mid 40's.. I know I can name a ton of them all elite scorers at their peaks...
Since I prefer mostly oldschool, here's 10 often forgotten SGs I consider way up there:
Jerry West (One of the best shooters throughout the 60's and early 70's)
Earl Monroe (Loved the Pearl he was flashy and fun to watch, especially with the Bullets)
David Thompson (Rediculous talent, MJ before MJ pretty much)
Charlie Scott (elite scorer on bad Suns teams till he got to Boston and helped them win another title)
Sam Jones (the ultimate clutch shooter in the Finals!)
Hal Greer (Another great clutch shooter)
Phil Chenier (before injury he was one of the best shooting guards of the 70's, nice replacement to the Pearl in Washington)
Paul Westphal (Elite scoring guard for the Suns in the late 70's, took them to the Finals once and got close a few more times)
Pete Maravich (stuck on bad teams unfortunately, but he could do it all offensively)
Andrew Toney (ask the Celtics in the early 80's about him lol)
Making my god team for blacktop with my boy and I ran into you so I can refresh my mind and man your shit go hard
Klay Thompson should be on the list
Who u taking off?
Klay thompson career is overrated
Never averaged 25
Had all time level spacing so of course he would shoot well
Was never a top 2 option
He was never the best as his position in his whole career
@@dansheshe8039 uhh you know he was apart of what made golden State pacing so good right? Look at 2020-21 warriors their pacing is horrible without him
@@dansheshe8039 he's a 3rd option and is proven he can be a 2nd as well also one of the best shooters and defenders in the nba
@@tj5180 still not top 10 sg of all time
if Grant Hill didn't get injured he would be on this list
He wasn't a shooting guard. He played small forward mostly but if he was healthy. He would have been top 10 at SF all time
Great list
THANK YOU FOR PROPERLY RANKING AI! Philly fan, love Iverson, but he might be the most overrated player in nba history with fans regularly having him as the 3rd or 4th greatest SG ever. 6th is perfect, well done 👏👏👏
He's at 8th for me
@@tj5180 Dont say that near Philly you might get killed 😂
@@MikeTheNBAGuy don't care. They can't accept facts or handle it. 😂🤣
I would put drexler over harden, gervin over AI and dumars over mcgrady
You can have harden win a chip as a number one option can’t say the same thing about Drexler
This one is spot on
Jordan, Kobe, Wade, AI, and Drexler
10:35🤣😂
Miller BETTER than Ray Allen...Better Leader, Better Playoff Performances, Better Clutch Shooter & has More ALL NBA's than Allen...
I'm not going to talk about the rankings, but my top 10 included Pete Maravich, Sam Jones and Joe Dumars, instead of Gervin, McGrady and Iverson. Allen Iverson was 11th on my list of best point guards, I thought that was his primary position.
TMac played on some bad Orlando teams not much help but either way he shouldve been good enough to get them to atleast the 2nd round
I think you miss Vince Carter, Jerry West and Pete Maravich
Tracy a good scorer only for 3 quarters 🤧
Excellent list. I would move harden to number 6 though. Moving Iverson to the top 5.
I personally have Gervin over AI and West as the 3rd greatest SG AT.
Garvin has no case to be top 3 west was better but he played pg mostly
@@tj5180 ow. Sorry. I think it's an error in punctuation. I mean, I have West as the 3rd best SG AT while having Gervin over AI.
What happened to earl the pearl, David Thompson, Pete Maravich, Walt Frazier
Clyde over iverson that’s insane
Jordan, Ai and Kobe are automatic top 3 imo. No other SG was as skilled as those 3

He was the best player on the heat those first two finals runs yes I’m talking about the first 2 years with bron

I feel like klay Thompson
T-Mac 6-7 y’all crazy 😭😭🐐
From a pure skill standpoint I can’t put Reggie over tmac
Perfect video
Y’all be sleeping on pistol Pete tho. Top five for sure.
Pete was awesome but terrible teams can keep you off the list I'd say. If he did a college top 10, he'd be #1 in my book.
Rip Klay Thompson, at least mention him
I was waiting for klay Thompson this list was good until he left klay off absolutely terrible snub
Forgot jerry west. Should be between 3 or 4
Iverson at 6 is an absolute travesty
Man I just can’t get over Clyde over A.I. Lol. Man ion know about that 1.
Clyde went to two finals
@@valorreigns9825 so did iverson, against the 3 peat lakers, and if i recall he managed to win a game against them. wasn't a sweep. he was the entire offense of that philly squad. in todays era if he was in his 20s, he'd probably still go for 30-35 no problem.

1. MJ

4. West
5. Harden
6. Drexler
7. AI
8. Klay
9. Gervin
10. Ray Allen
Also, why is Harden a SG but Steph a PG?
People just need to start making these list like 1980 on. Its too hard to compare guys before then to modern guys.
Manu should be top 10 tbh
Good list
Good list but TMAC was not a SG. He was always a SF.
He played sg more years then he played sf
You gotta do all positions now
