That was a great vid! Keep that type of content coming! My son and I live on Long Island, NY and share a 2017 Camaro 2SS 6spd manual. It’s an awesome car stock. Dying to start making a few mods and get to a track day. Problem is the closest track(s) are at least 3hrs away. He’s starting Physical Therapy school and has first child on the way, so would be difficult right now to say the least. All the more reason why this content so entertaining.
Get on dem apexes boiiiii!! Though Ill bet the wide angle makes it look like you are way further away than you are. Love to see the videos progress, keep it up!
Just realized I didn’t get any notifications for the last month from youtube and was stoked to watch your last 3 videos. Nice job as always. Keep the quality coming.
Idk why he doesn't have like 50k sub with such high quality and professional content. Keep it up Mac, your videos make my whole week, and I will be impatiently waiting for the next one, your are my biggest inspiration to get a camaro over a mustang. 👌👌👌
I appreciate that a ton! I am currently trying to improve capturing the experience of a track day on camera and make it entertaining, after the seats and cage go in I want to start going a lot more and documenting other builds & stories around racing
Thanks! It's such a blast, I personally love watching track day videos, but I am working on finding ways to keep it entertaining and .... well epic! lol
I sold my 2021 1le.. big reason was the bottom was rusted out so bad on a brand new car to the point where tie rod end were already needing replacement to make afjustments.. but I need to get another one before the V8s are gone... my favorite car to date. Love to see someone utilizing the no lift shifts 👌
@@FreeYSLM2 the dealership said it just came off the truck but they failed to mention it was shipped from a norther state that had salted roads. The camaro was on the bottom level of the shipping truck and got salted then sat on a northern lot for 4 or five months all winter coated in a salt before getting shipped to Texas because sports cars don’t sell well in the north when there is snow 😅 I never had to check the under side of a brand new car before but will from now on for sure.. first time I put it on a lift to change the rear diff fluid the tech and mines jaw dropped at the sight.
Videos keep getting better👍🏼. Can you talk about how you really feel the difference on track btw the 1le and the RS. Other than the obvious power. Thanks.
I showed up in Lexus for TNIA. 134bhp with 94bhp w/o electric motor, which will deplete the HV battery after 2 laps on a mid-lifecycle NiMH battery. Win the award for quietest vehicle on track, like a mouse fart. Maybe 50dB max on the front straight.
Yes, it's a Hybrid S harness made by simpson, it's the only HANS device approved for use in 3 point belt cars & compatible with 6 point harness as well
Great track content Mac. Like some of the others, I live in Amarillo, TX, no track near me. I want to hit one so bad though, work out the car and Advan Apex tires now.
I have the same car sounds like you have an aftermarket exhaust. I really like the axle back corsa extreme but don’t want to break the noise ratings at the tracks I have around me. The lowest db rating at 50ft I’d 92 db. Have you had any issues and what exhaust are you running?
I can't find a track in NY unfortunately unless I've been looking for the wrong thing but when i google search race track, i get race courses that are for gambling
I live in saint louis I can't find a track like this anywhere does anyone got a website or something so I can find some near me I'm kinda tired of the drag strip
Bought a Corvette. Want to do some track days. But, I'm hesitant because the nearest track is a little over an hour away. And I don't want to have to drive it to and from the track. If something breaks or I have a crash. I'm screwed. My everyday driver wouldn't be a very reliable tow vehicle. And car trailers aren't cheap. Plus storage would be another expense in that I live in a apartment. I could drive it to the track and go easy, but that isn't appealing to me. Not sure what I'm going to do.
I was a little hesitant at first but even the novice group can be quite fun if you're not used to tracking a car. Even at novice pace a new driver will question whether or not the car can hold the turns you take it through. You'll also find that egos are checked at the door in novice so other drivers will eagerly give you a point-by. If you want to know what advanced groups are like before making the decision get a helmet and do a ride-along. Most events have this and let's you ride shotgun with an instructor. Will give you a really good idea of what cars are really capable of and how terrifying it can be lol.
An hour? That’s nothing! Go do some track days. I’ve been tracking cars since around 2009 or so, and I’ve always drive to the track. It’s never lived closer than 3-4 hours from a track.
Bring basic tools, jack, etc. Bring a set of spare brake pads, and maybe even rotors. Either make sure your tires have plenty of rubber, or put a little hitch on the vette and tow a tire trailer with a set of track wheels/tires. I don’t take it easy. I run advanced group, and wjth my last car I was matching the pace of the head instructor for Chin motorsports in the same car. Also lapping faster than a lot of dramatically more capable cars. You’ll be fine, and in the unlikely even that anything does happen, it’s only an hour and you have another car. You’ll be fine. Carrry track insurance if you’re still worried.

Keep posting these up. I kick myself every time I think about not getting a PDR with my 1LE, so I enjoy watching other’s videos. 👍

Great track footage! Looking forward to more of the 1LE on track!
Great quality content. You give us small guys goals. Love the car man
Appreciate it! It's a constant work in progress, keep up the grind!

I definitely can and thanks man! I keep trying to raise the bar each time, really enjoy making this track content!

Wow! That was thrilling! I have to get my Camaro SS on a track soon!
Thanks,
DC
It's such a capable car, have two more days planed already for next month!
Mac Pettit are you planning to post those two days at the track too? I’m hoping so!
Thanks,
DC
finally taking such a capable car where it belongs, love it !! I noticed there were straps around you while driving, is that some kind of a harness ?

Nice man very happy for u 👏👏👏
Thanks man! It was a fun day for sure, can't wait to get back out there!
Is the line really that far off the apexes on that track?
Can you make a vid about how to shop around for track insurance? You seem to have found some really good deals
Yeah that is a good idea I'll include that in the Time Attack one I am making in the next few weeks for sure
Loving the videos.
How tall are you man looks like you have plent of headroom with the helmet as well
How much does it cost for a track day? Average with the time, oil, change etc
None in AZ. :( Great video!
I think you have a track in casa grande AZ.

There are plenty around New York! NYST, NJMP, PALMER, Lime Rock, Thompson. Best way to find events is through Motorsportsreg . com
@@macpettit2327 Thanks for the information. Highkey just made my day because now I could find somewhere to have fun with the car.
I can't see a harness bar... what is that extra Simpsons harness you have called?
What’s your exhaust setup?

$200 for half a day isn't cheap. Local drag strips around me do track events for $25-50. At $200 it's more expensive than a day at Disney world.
That BMW point you by mid corner!? 🤣
Yes he did, I stayed back per the passing rules 😂
Build tesla please
First 😂
But I wanted to be first!
Gotta be quicker then that 🤕😂
