I've had one for 12 months now and my 11yo son and I use it a few times a week. I customise the drills to what we want him to work on and once we have it set up, it works like a dream. Was hesitant about spending a bit of money on a ball machine but it was worth every cent.

I have had mine for over 3 years and it works great. As a coach I love the ability to make custom drills. This allows me to coach from the same side of the court with my players making it easy to make corrections, video or demonstrate. I also like the fact that i can make all adjustments with the phone app. The anti-jam system makes it so I never have to walk back to the machine except to reload the balls.

I bought the Spinshot player machine and have been using it regularly for over 18 months. I use it for about seven to nine hours a week. I like the app wherein I can change the drills to my needs.
I hardly get problems. But when the problem occurs the support is immediate. The support is given even during weekends. Jason has been extremely helpful.
Some of the problems are due to the ball getting stuck inside the machine.
I would recommend Spinshot without any hesitation.

Slinger (fully loaded) or this? Tennis Spin, we want your unadulterated, no nonsense, honest answer (as we’re used to from you). All things considered; price, durability (does it have any issues), utility, practicality, etc etc.
We want to hear it from the man himself. Many thanks in advance, love what you’re doing for our community. 🙏

Hello, I have two neighbors here in my building with Slinger and Spinshot. Although I never tried the machines, I noticed that slinger is very handy (you carry just one large bag) but it only has one effect (all balls leave with heavy top spin) and the top speed is not that high, if you're an intermediate or high.

    • @ionutdragomir6070

If i can help with the answer for the above : had two topspin in the past and they work great the white plastic boards that supposed to hold the balls will start to brake after a while as not very well designed and they will not hold very well if hitted by the balls. They also offer replacement fot these parts on their website.
I'm a coach and I'm using these machines almost every day till the battery will run flat so they are made to last but after couple of hundreds hours of use the (most of people i know will use these machines few hours as they get bored so if not sure about wanting one don't buy it :)) ) other down side: the rubber wheels that makes the ball shoot out will get damaged after many hours or once the balls loose their hair so the ball feed will become very inconsistent and that's the reason i stopped using them (over 300 hours of use overall)
slinger machine are easier to move around and in my opinion are made for the beginner to intermediate level of players or if you just want simplicity but they're are made better for moving around. SLINGER also have same rubber material so I'm expecting to not last much either. My opinion overall they're are good machines but i prefer the spinshot in the long run and the slinger for commodity. Hope that will help someone here. Cheers

@@ionutdragomir6070 I really wish the Slinger was more durable but as I am on my 3rd Slinger replacement and this one has failed, I am done with that product and looking for something that is sturdier and will hold up.

I tested both and prefer Spinshot because it gives u different/individual trainings and is much better quality. But… the Spinshot is the double of price.
A big disadvantage of the Slinger is the maximum spin which is not adjustable.
I would definitely go with the Spinshot.

@@shmeun4572 agreed. Seeing a slinger at my local court made the decision easy. The slinger balls land and immediately/always then kick ahead with so much unnatural topspin (at least ‘unnatural’ for typical intermediate play etc).

      Agree 💯
I just would love to have a 8.5 and 9.5 on the feed. The timing is sometimes a bit off, if you just have 1,2 and 3 seconds... having 10 sec. on the other hand is definitely great for breaks between drills (f.e. if you are training with a group) .

There is a lot of problems with the wifi to the phone, what I did is install an external wifi antena attached to the box in the front....$15. This machine to me was the best bang for your money...programing is a matter of trial and error, then take picture of your configurations....very simple. Later you become creative and position the machine in crosscourt corners or close tho the net for volley or drop shots....

I thank you for this video. Tennis being an expensive sport, I like to know the best ball machines for each budget, how different are newer machines technologically & durability wise compared machines from 5 or 10 yrs ago, would an intermediate rec play be able to train his kids using mostly ball machine drills and a few coach 1:1 drills? Please post a full spectrum video on this topic. Coaches these days want $70 & above for 1 hour slot. With 10 -15 slots, I could buy a new ball machine.

spinshot has lower priced machines that are more similar to the slinger but this review is of the high end spinshot 'player' which has much more versatility than the slinger. The slinger only hits topspin balls and Ive seen one in use... the ball lands and lurches forward with topspin which is why im most likely choosing a higher end machine like the 'player' in order to be able to get practice on more than one type of shot etc.
