That's excellent Paul, just hope it doesn't get vandalised. To the west of the station you'd never know the railway existed. I didn't realise until Colin showed me the other Friday
I'd only just recently seen photos of that section of line that is now built in. I suppose progress means a small town doesn't need two disused railway lines cutting their way through the middle 😊. But looked great all the same
The lads doing the work are finding more and more stuff, that's brilliant. Am I right in thinking that all the buildings surrounding the tunnel and track bed are Station buildings? They have the same brick as the Station.
Yeah there is the former station house to the side of the station. Then obviously the one on top o the tunnel is the old booking office/station buiiding.
I'm curious about the angle that the track seems to be coming out of the tunnel. Also the fact that it looks as though the track was climbing up hill as it leaves the tunnel. Is that true to the original line of the track?
When they created access to the Clowne Greenway next door they piled earth across the trackbed, so the ground slopes down to the tunnel entrance...sadly. I believe the platforms were curved too so it may not be an exact alignment.
I've been past that area so many times and didn't know it was there, Well Done Guys. Fgs Fasten it down well.

Great video. So good to see this site come back to life 👍👍 The loco coming out of the tunnel is fantastic 👍
I can't wait to see the finished loco mounted
So glad it's not being left to rot

I just hope that some scumbags don't steal all that metal to sell as scrap.
Couldn't agree more.
With the effort putting them up, it'll take some shifting 😄

So will tbe tunnel be blocked? No way to the other side.
Sadly many years ago the cutting at the other end of the tunnel was filled in the make a new road and buildings, so will always be closed off.
@Wobbly Runner Exploring Noooo what a shame ...can the trackbed be accessed further along?
@@railwaychristina3192 yes in bits and bobs. A lot has been built on though
