I have not laughed that much in weeks! For one, great 80's montage music video. Nice mix of review and crazy comedy. I can only imagine how long these videos take -- no one does them like this -- I like watching these real TV by far. Anyway, the game LOOKS great, but looks like a real brain burner.

Felt a bit too crazy at bits, and I was getting slightly fussed that there seemed to be a lot of jokes and not much of actual explanation of the game. This mostly applied to the first half of the video though and in the end it was good :) (And I guess it's the result of that thing you mention about it being hard to explain individual mechanics without having to explain the whole thing)

I think this is probably the first game you've covered that I have entirely bounced off of, but because you've explained it so well I can still understand the things that people would be drawn to. I understand the game better, but the mechanics and theme just aren't for me.
I haven’t watched SUASD or whatever for ages and this was surprisingly still fresh. I even smirked at several points. Aaaaand I liked the sound of the game too.

Seems kind of like Container in theme and economy. Which is better?
They're vastly different. Container is a closed economy where the interplay among players defines the outcome. Pipeline is all about action efficiency in generating an economic engine. The interplay there is more about positioning and blocking, mostly with pipes, crude oil, or upgrades.
To the actual question, I think they're both brilliant in their own right.

Box art great ... board and game piece look... not so much. This game simulates a heavy industrial company.... It should be ugly; the pipes shouldn’t look like something out of water works.

This is what I come to SU&SD for. A game I will never play, and yet pure joy from the review. The creative thought, the staging, the intelligence of the stupidity, the editing, and Tom’s flash back bloody marvellous. Rollicking good work chaps. Now, time to watch it again.

My personal opinion of this video is that all the zany bits, costumes and editing detracted from the level of insight SUSD normally put up. I genuinely don't have any feelings one way or another about this game, and that's the first time ever an SUSD vid hasn't provided the game feels for me.
Been looking forward to this one since it came up in the podcast, I'm dying to know what Matt's amazing series of pipes was..

Matt this is some of your best work ever! The spicy transition got me good.
While the game might be excellent in mechanics, theme, and graphic design I could not stop thinking Pipeline looked more like work, like a job, than like a game. While I am sure this will appeal to some/many people this will be a hard pass for me.
