Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another mesmerizing AGT performance by Angelina - this time singing the Elton John classic - at age 13. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, you can hear Angelina foretelling the outcome of the "competition". (Interesting to note that while Angelina very much wanted to be on AGT, her family would only allow it so long as she they did NOT have to sign the standard contract.) So - even though Angelina did not win the AGT "competition", she did win in the sense that her amazing performances earned her incredible exposure both in the US & worldwide. Shortly after finishing AGT, Angelina signed a contract with Republic Records at age 14 (her 1st release with them was Million Miles.) Always look forward to your Angelina reactions. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
She can mesmerize an audience so quickly. And despite all she did vocally, the wasn’t one second of hesitation or one note that she didn’t hit perfectly in this very difficult arrangement. I have heard the Elton John version probably hundreds of times, but this is the one I remember and want to hear. It’s Angelina’s song now.
Agreed. Her slower version seems closer to Sara Bareilles singing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, especially the crescendo. Listen to her version Live from Atlanta. Elton John loved it and let her know it. I wonder if he's heard Angelina's version. I bet he'd be impressed as well.
She sud have winning AGT the champignons, bout she wouldn't signed a contact whit Simon Cowell, she diddent won't to sing commerciële songs, she believes in artistic freedom! She is the best!👍🙏
There are no other appearances in the AGT The Campions "Contest". Angelina got the Golden Buzzer for her audition performance (Bohemian Rhapsody), which put her straight into the finals. This video (YBR) is her performance in the final. However, there is a third song, outside of the voting, to make the "Final result show" more interesting. It is a collaboration with sand artist Kseniya Simonova (finished on third place in AGT The Champions the year before) and violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa (finished on third place the year Angelina took part in the show). It's Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved". IMHO the most impressive non-competitive music performance ever seen on AGT.
The song was a perfect choice - it sent the message! She did not sign up to the contracts that offer the road of gold, her ambitions are beyond that. Artistic freedom would not be sacrificed for money!! As a result the "Superfans" didn't even have her on their list...
From some the comments I’ve read, Simon Cowell wanted to sign Angelina to his label and her parents refused his and other’s, (Pedoworld, Disney’s) offers. Angelina’s very wise and loving family did not want to subject Angelina to what they knew the dark side of the entertainment had in mind. They knew Angelina had a very bright future ahead of her, but it wasn’t in young Angelina’s best interest to expose her to the entertainment business at that stage in her life. Her family was adamant about wanting Angelina to have a normal childhood and to finish her schooling.
Voting on this show has devolved into 'superfans of the show', not the general public, deciding who goes forward. One has to wonder just how rigged this show has become.
Angelina was designed and destined by God. This is highlighted through her music which causes us Angelinarised. You go girl. Continue to shine like a diamond.
Did you notice when she sang the first verse and the phrase I didn't sign up with you. The camera cuts to Simon. And she didn't sign up with him. Some people are saying that's the reason she didn't win...
Many have said that this song was a somewhat bitter response to a failed negotiation with Simon's company. However, that doesn't make much sense for a couple of reasons. For one, being vindictive does not seem to be in Angelina's nature. Secondly, Angelina obviously adores Simon and made it quite clear in her audition. Here, in this performance, Simon makes it known how talented he feels that Angelina truly is. In the end, both sides got what they wanted. Simon got one of the best performances in the world and Angelina got tremendous exposure to the American market. According to an entertainment magazine, Angelina did end up in tenth place and was beat out by Starwars Stormtroopers, an animal act, other singers, and dancers. Such is the nature of these sorts of talent shows.
Simon himself stated "you made the song relevant" Doesn't mean she was vindictive. Angelina has stated she's not very talkative and prefers to express herself through song. Her song choice is always perfect for the occasion. We may never know the full reason for the song choice and I'm positive it would not be vindictive, just an expression of feelings.
@@TrenchTrash01 you may be correct, but I still find that somewhat petty. What I suspect is that she loved Sara Bareilles's version and wanted to make something similar. Either way, I think we both can agree it is a beautiful version.
What Simon said is far from what Simon did. Angelina did not advance in the competition past this point and all promotion for Angelina in “AGT” ended. Her name and songs were removed from their sites. IMO, there were no “Super Fans” voting like Howie said. AGAIN, IMO The voting was a Lie. 5th Place? Insulting. I still wonder WHY?
@@andyschnell58 My hunch is that was created as a filler show while the main one was off the air. But whatever, they only got two seasons out of it. RIP.
How she finished not reach the final 5 always seemed a little dodgy. It was a huge controversy at the time. Especially at the immediate response she got on the Internet. Its where she picked up all her USA fans from all those years ago. I often wondered that was behind starting to write her song 7th HEAVEN...telling herself not to be bitter and life must be lived with hope.
@@103mrg Simon had wanted her on the show for ages, but her family refused to sign a contract with Simon, as the first five winners are obliged to do. So the agreement was that she could appear but not be in the first five. That's how I understand it. I think both benefited from the arrangement.
@@fredneecher1746 From Uncle Mike's interview with Music Norway: America Got Talent.... had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. How to take Ownership of a Classic!
She gains the full attention of the audience when she first opens her mouth and starts to sing.

Look at the design on her T Shirt, its her Grandmothers artistic interpretation of her singing the audition for NGT at 7yo its fantastic !!
What a performance. Vocal gymnastics like Ive never heard. Goat girl! Love your channel Alex.

The fact she didn't win that season is a crime.

@@rickpallas2001 Quite so.
I heard that Angelina agreed to perform on the condition that she would NOT sign a contract.

Probably the closest you ever will come to a musical wonder !!!
U should check out a fellow rea tor, Ken Lavigne, to Angelina at age 10 singing I Put A Spell on YOU, this is after your great reviews

Americas Got Talent The Champions is no more. Cancelled. And after this fiasco it’s not at all surprising
I have no idea if there is any truth to my guess that Simon created The Champions to have Angelina on his main stage.

it was already fix that she would´nt win so listen to the lyrics and you see this was a punch right into simon´s face

It was clear from the start Angelina was NOT going to sign any contract
with any record companies , so she was sidelined quietly..
I think, 7th heaven was also about the restrictions of course of covid.

Something happened to your Mike set up. Your voice audio is way off in your last two videos
