As an MD I think this churches need to come with the philosophy of Paid and Volunteers. Both can exist but someone has to take the lead at the end of the year show appreciation to volunteers in the ministry.

I have a question... what about the idea of discounting the tithe you pay.... for example if I would normally change $60/hr and than play 40 min of worship set every Sunday and $120 would be my normal tithe... pay the church $80 every week ($120-$40)...

This is going to come down with Skill level, demand, dedication, availability, geo demographic area, size of church and vetting the best person for the job.

Im a beginner musician been playing for 5 years with no salary or compensation. I dont care about making money from the church I care about being faithful and serving God wholeheartedly. Now im expected to play Tuesday and Thursday Night Service, 2 more on Sunday and rehearsal on Wednesday not mention the practice of getting better daily and work 60+ hours a week. It depends on the church and the finances

Question... if you feel you have the professional skill set... what about the idea of counting your service toward your tithe... in other words take the regular tithe and subtract would charge for doing a set and pay that amount for your tithe instead...

Church music directors get paid and also the rest of the band should get paid and the vocalists not fair for their countless hours of practice and time away from their families at home there is no respect for them just bussiness as usual just a cut throat bussiness don’t forget they have feelings too and they are humans not animals

Also it's about winning souls and if no one gets paid it shows your heart and will to serve God

    • @TheDarylBlackChannel
      @TheDarylBlackChannel  3 роки тому

I appreciate your comments and look forward to continued dialogue. Payment has no relevance to the heart and will of anyone to serve God. I've Served alongside people who didn't get paid and there hearts were turned so far away from God that it was embarrassing, and Ive served alongside those who got paid and they were humble, grateful, faithful, and passionate about God and the things of God. The only thing that displays your heart toward God is..is a heart, and life of integrity chasing after God. Money is neither a motivator or an afterthought. As I stated in the video - whether a church chooses to pay or not, the musician has a responsibility to his/her calling, and the church has a responsibility to care for those they serve alongside.
Nonetheless I encourage you to read Nehemiah, Leviticus, 1Chronicles, and Ezra, 2 Thessalonians 3:7-10, 1 Corinthians 9:9-14, Luke 10, Philippians 4. I believe these books will give you a broader context of what the Bible says about honoring, and providing for those who specifically work in the temple.

@@TheDarylBlackChannel Nobody is trying to get rich off the church nor live solely off the church. Church leaders expect the top skilled musicians and their availability to multiple events often times putting their family last. You want better results appreciation investing into the ministry will yield better results. However this comes with vetting dedicated musicians with the mind of serving while at the same time getting the best out of the ministry reaching God's people.

    1 Corinthians 9
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ WITHOUT CHARGE, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

By the way I'm not a religious Christian any more I was shown through the scriptures that Jesus was expected to come back in the apostles lifetime. Jesus confirmed it himself
      Can you answer these questions?
      1. If Jesus is coming back then why did he say that the Malachi 4v5 prophecy was fulfilled. In which it showed that the time of that dreadful day has come when he was speaking? Malachi 4v5, Matthew 17 v 10-13
      2. If Jesus is coming back then why did he say in Luke 21 v 32 "Truly I tell you. This generation will not pass away until all these things happened". When the things he was speaking about that will have happened are the signs and also regarding his return. And he said it will happen in that same generation.
      (Luke 21 v 27,28)
      Full Scripture Context Luke 22 v 25-36)
      3. If Jesus is coming back then why did James say the coming of the Lord is drawing nigh in his time 2000 years ago. But it didn't happen
      James 5 v 7-8
      4. If Jesus is coming back then why did Peter say that the end of all things is at hand 2000 years ago. But it didn't happen.
      1 Peter 4 v 7
      5. If Jesus is coming back then why did Peter preach to the church that his glory will be revealed and they will be glad with have exceeding joy. But it didn't happen.
      (1 Peter 4 v 13)
      6. How can we say that Jesus is coming back when the Early Church Fathers expected and prophesied he will be coming in their generation. But Jesus didn't come back.
And If A Prophet tells visions that are false The Sovereign Lord is against them and His hand will be against lying prophets.
      (Ezekiel 13 v 8-9 / Jeremiah 23 v 16 / Jeremiah 5 v 30-31 )
      7. If Jesus is coming back and we should read the letters of the Apostles then why does it say that false prophets must be put to death if what a prophet claims in the name of the Lord does not take place. And The Apostles taught that Jesus will be coming back in their lifetime.
      (Deuteronomy 18 v 20-22)
      8. If Jesus is coming back and the early church was talking about any generation then why did Paul say "we who are alive" in his teaching and prophecy regarding Jesus Return. 1 Thessalonians 4 v 15,17
      9. If Jesus is coming back why did Paul teach to the people at the time saying "we who are alive" and also declaring that "the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command". But Jesus did not return as he said.
      1 Thessalonians 4 v 16 (can read from v 15 - 17)
And A False Prohet should be put to death

This scripture speaks against pay for hire
*[[Mic **3:11**]] KJV* The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

I appreciate your input. however, this passage doesn't speak against pay for hire, this passage speaks against the mismanagement of gifts for pay. The Bible is both descriptive and prescriptive. The inclusion of a text that describes priest and prophet who inappropriately traded their gifts for profit is not prescriptive against pay.

@@atidasibanda5959 No so a salary in an organisation gives bonuses and salaries increase according to success.
Levites have their needs met. What happens in churches us that it becomes a business even a family business. So the preacher and ministers and staff rely on the visitods to pay for them to eat.
The reality is that ministry can be tough and the true Word of God can be unpopular. So a preacher should not NEED members. So the integrity of the preaching should always be there.
Motivational speakers make good money. Preachers who condemn sin can have a harder time at times. That is what the preachers is meant to make sure he speaks about things that go against the flesh.
Of course tell the good news and at his right hand there are pleasures for ever more. If you don't work you do not eat
*[[Hos 4:6]] KJV* My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

I didn't mention a salary, however, whether you call it, salary, compensation, having needs met, or any other- the Levites had no external job responsibilities outside of the church.(Nehemiah 10:39) And the one time they did, God rebuked the church for not bringing the tithes and offerings into the temple so the Levites would not have to go outside of the temple to take care of themselves.(Nehemiah 13:10)
I've had the honor and blessing of serving God most of my life. As a musician I've served without compensation and without expectation of compensation, however, I've always served with compensation as well. Im one of the few that have been called to serve in the temple full time, and it would be implausible for me to lead the church, grow my teams, expand my knowledge, grow my skill, etc... , at the level that God has called me to or without the blessing of having my needs met. I don't deserve it but I am eternally grateful. My heart for God and my willingness to serve is not compromised because of compensation.
In the end WE ALL (all believer's) are serving God in what we do (Col.3:23)from the church musicians to the dentist), and from that perspective none of us should be paid. The truth is We are no more sacred than carpenters or firemen or painters or artists. We are just people who have been welcomed into the wide, wide world of God’s love and grace. And as working musicians this is what we bring when we meet.

Absolutely not.why does God have to pay somebody to play music?read amos5:23 in the bible most of these musicians have no spiritual interest in worship.that why it's a difference between a servant an a musician they should be call servants if they were for real.they make it clear just what are ,they don't participate in paying tithes and offerings just watch them they won't even move out of their seats they act like pimps,Jesus don't need these hustlers he could have the rocks praise him if he wants to,david in the bible was a chief musician, and he never took a time, get bums out the church, the church is not a hustling outlet
