This time, we're covering the Tac-45.
The second pistol, and high-damage semi-automatic option - taking on a similar role to the 6-round revolvers seen in previous games.
The Tac-45 is based on the real-life FNP Tactical, manufactured by FN Herstal.
Introduced in 2006, the FNP is a modern semi-automatic pistol available in a variety of calibres, designed as flexible offering for police and special forces.
With its roots in earlier FN designs, the FNP can be thought of as an update to John Browning's classic High Power handgun design.
The FNP-45 is chambered in the .45 ACP cartridge, the same powerful round the M1911 fires, and this power is reflected in-game.
The Tac-45 is a high damage pistol: although it shares the same basic damage profile as the Five-seven, the Tac-45 has a much longer 2-hit kill.
This means in most functional circumstances - i.e. at a close range - the Tac-45 will deal greater damage than the Five-seven.
At a distance, however, you may need up to six shots to kill - which means the Tac-45 will find itself at a disadvantage for a number of reasons.
The Firecap is lower, for one - the Tac-45 will top out at 625 rounds per minute with an able trigger finger, compared to the Five-seven's 750 rounds per minute.
This doesn't make much functional difference, as firing this quickly will hamper your accuracy and quickly deplete your magazine - with the Tac-45 it is generally better to ensure your shots count.
Hipfire performance is good, in line with the other pistols: combined with the higher close-range damage, the Tac-45 will prove relatively reliable when fired from the hip.
Recoil is significantly higher than the Five-seven: not enough to really harm effectiveness at a close range, but it might limit your long-range potential.
Aim time is very quick, at around 130 milliseconds - and you'll move at 100 percent of the maximum base speed, as with all the pistols.
Magazine capacity is another area in which the Tac-45 loses out to its semi-auto rival: unlike the generous capacity of the Five-seven, you'll have a mere 10 rounds per reload.
Although this is significantly better than the high-power revolvers in games past, 10 rounds can quickly disappear, and this means the Tac-45 is a weapon that calls for careful shot placement for maximum effectiveness.
Reloads are very quick, if quite frequent - at 1.45 seconds.
Your initial ammunition supply is quite limited - as you'll be equipped with just 4 mags upon spawn, for just 40 rounds total by default.
The Tac-45 is primarily suited to a backup role: its rapid handling and limited zone of usefulness means it's more effective as a close-range backup than as a surrogate primary.
The Tac-45 is an excellent secondary backup for those able to accurately place shots upon close-range targets.
Its high close range damage means even those without rapid trigger fingers can quickly down close-range assailants, and the rapid switch times associated with the pistols means the Tac-45 is a very viable backup weapon.
Of course, you pay for this higher damage with some adverse handling traits when compared to the Tac-45's nearest rival, the Five-seven.
A smaller magazine and elevated level of recoil means careful shooting is necessary, and outside of your two-hit kill zone you'll find yourself at a distinct disadvantage as a result.
Still, the pistols intended role is as a close-range backup - and to that end the Tac-45's elevated damage makes it more than a fair trade-off.
This high-power handgun fires a hard-hitting round, certain to impact your opponent's momentum, much to their chagrin.
Indeed, the mighty Newtonian force of the forty-five calibre...

Loved using the pistols as primaries in this game, makes me sad that games after this have neutered the handguns.

I know they wanted to make the pistols viable as a weapon but they should have scaled the weapon damage down to less if the game detects that you have a regular primary like a assault rifle or other weapon.
Ikr the only pistol I really loved in BO3 was the RK5. Seeing how I'm a pistol specialist, games depicting handguns as peashooters or low-tier/quality weapons is kinda annoying. But luckily, they don't always do that. Far Cry, for example does a good job at portraying handguns as pretty damn useful :3

The .45 ACP has been good in every game since BO2. My favorites are the WW2 1911, AW ASM1, and Ghosts Vector.

Not only that many weapons have unique sounds in this game, yes there are a lot weapons that sound similar, some of them the same but not every one of them, end of the fucking story
Nah idk, I think it would be tied with MW2 tbh, I really loved how the suppressed weapons sounded in that game, however the suppressed M27 is my favourite sounding suppressed gun out of every cod.

Damn this makes me nostalgic. Loved running a solo Tac-45 class. I wasn't even that good but it felt so satisfying when you got kills with it.
I have it with Extended Mags & Longbarrel via Secondary Gunfighter, to compensate for the small mag capacity and short range.

DominikLederhas Not so much on the two shot kill range. Your two shot kill range is only something like a meter larger. It only confers advantages to your 3 shot kill ranges and longer. Your three shot kill range, even then, is only 3 meters longer, and your four shot kill range is only 4 meters longer.
The true strength of the Tac-45 is its two shot kill range. While Long Barrel helps it, its advantage is minimal, sort of like using a Foregrip on a SCAR-H: it's a benefit you'd want because the SCAR-H has a lot of recoil, but it's far too small of a benefit for the advantage to be useful. More useful attachments exist in the forms of the magazine attachments, the Laser Sight, and the tactical Knife.
No problem. I just really love how the close range fury of the Tac 45 complements the medium to long range ability of the FAL

I loved running the Tac-45 as a primary in free-for-all matches. I won quite a few with nothing but a pistol. Once I finally had disposable income as an adult, I purchased one with a red dot. It's kind of expensive to shoot, but the nostalgia is hard to beat.
Same. I ended up getting a FNP-45 in a trade for an optic and some AR mags. Minus a few aesthetic differences, it feels just like the Tac-45 and I love it 😌

TAC-45...a handgun with a difference. Like most Handguns, it's a very useful secondary when in a pinch.

Man do I miss this game so much, and using this pistol at that, the Tac-45 is one of my all time favorites pistols, not just in BO2 but IRL, just had to buy some version of it so I recently got the Airsoft one since the real version isn't California Legal (but the new Five Seven is now!).

It seems to be a feature(?) since MW3. It causes the duel-wielded pistols to use a different fire sound (like the Five-SeveN). The pistols use the fire sound for the Five-SeveN. The standard fire sound is what seems to be the M1911.

The Tac-45 makes a good backup weapon. Pairs nicely with an AN-94 or any other weapon that demands you carry a pistol secondary. For gilding this it's 2-hit kill radius is good enough that you don't even need much to make it work. It's currently my most used weapon.

Solid secondary, i run with it as a primary, long barrel fast mags for going loud and silencer for those sneaky kills. Great to finally see a more accurate representation of the .45 cal in cod, 1911 was always underpowered.

Hey Stu! For this episode I had my own pun, it's not as clever as yours but it does the job. The pun was "Get used to using this power house of a weapon, and using the Tac 45. will be as easy as ACP" ACP because of the caliber of bullet fired and it sounds like ABC
i used to use this as my primary. i got pretty good with it, with an average of being 1st or second in tdm, ffa, domination, and search and destroy

I've noticed that when you use C4, that you tap the lethal button again. double tapping X also detonates the C4 pack as well and can be preformed much faster that LB.
I always use engineer. It's saved my life so many times and can give you more points towards your streak.

FMJ does not add more damage to your weapon, it might show an increase to the damage stat when equipped,but it even says in the description the only thing fmj does is increase lethality when shooting through cover and it does more damage to score streaks.

the recoil you are talking about is purely visual. your shots will go where you point, although followup shots will be affected by the recoil (non visual). As far as your request of the msmc guide, he is doing these guides in the order that the guns are unlocked and is rotating through every class and posting once per week, so it may be quite some time before that review comes out.
Always watch the replay of your kill cam. Either your cross hairs are off and you are legitimately missing with no hit marker or if you are hitting them dead center and the shots still aren't registering then its the lag making the bullets whiff. Another sign of sever lag is if you get in a gun fight where you pop a few rounds into an enemy and then in the replay it shows you just standing there not even raising your gun before you die.
Your aim on xbox is so much better than mine on PC with a mouse, it's ridiculous

Hello Stu, I was bored so I watched a few MW2 vids and you say "Heckler and Kock" and couldn't stop laughing and I believe the Tac-45 ressembles a bit more the newer HK45.
This gun is basically BEAST
I feel running extended clip is a better option than fast mag. you have 13 bullets, just in case you encounter 2 enemies at a far distance. You can also kill a enemy, reload, and cancel the reload if needed.
This weapon is more suitable for snipers because it can quickly finish opponents in CQC, whereas the Five Seven can be a substitute for the missing long range capabilites of shotgun classes. The low recoil and big magazine count are making it superior at long range compared to the Tac.

Just got gold with the Tac45! Love it! its all i use.. Makes the game fun again since its lost its fun some months ago.
After getting diamond pistols, I must say, this one prevails over all others simply because of it's amazing versatility.

technically its a .45 acp version of the FNP9 which is an upgraded version of the Browning Hi-power which was like a 9mm version of the m1911

Secondary - Tac-45 (of course) w/ Silencer or Long-Barrel &/or any other attachments

The disadvantages are only relevant when compared to the Five Seven. The TAC45 is, in fact, a relatively low recoil weapon (it doesn't kick any more than the B23R), and 10 rounds in the magazine is usually enough.
If you managed to land 2 shots in succession at the TAC45's maximum possible fire rate, it effectively has the time to kill of a 1200 RPM 3HK weapon. In comparison the average fire rate for the B23R's burst is about 930 RPM. This is presuming 60 FPS on console.

The best class with the tac 45 as a secondary is:
Primary Weapons: FAL
Attachments: Select fire, target finder, quickdraw
Secondary: Tac 45 raw
Perks: Scavenger, Engineer, Dexterity
Wildcards: Primary Gunfighter, Perk 3 greed
The long range power of the FAL and the close range power of the tac 45 complement each other so well, that a lethal or tactical is not needed.
