    I got me a pair a few weeks ago for work. As a carpenter in a team of two, one guy on the roof nailing boards one guy inside the room fitting out it’s a must and they work a treat. Well worth the cash and bonus that you can take calls and have a soft sound track on in the background and hear your partner if he needs you. And if you can’t he can always give you a call👍

      No way I could do that without hearing protection. That kind of noise drives me up a wall these days. Glad you are liking them. 👍🏻

    Thanks for a nice honest review - I like that you're giving the cons without saying that they're a reason not to buy. Cool intro too!

      Thank you for getting it. 👍🏻👍🏻 I truly believe no review is complete without some cons. No product is perfect for everyone. One of the cons may be a bigger deal to someone versus another. So I just try to present the reality of a product.

    Alan - thanks for a very thorough and honest review! I have always appreciated your focus on offering unbiased reviews, without being swayed by being offered products at no cost. For what it's worth, I enjoy your cinematic experiments very much!
    I see a lot of artwork in this video. Are the paintings yours?

      Thank you Ron. The art most present in here was paintings by my roommate’s lady friend. The space is his art studio where he stores supplies and does smaller scale projects. He’s a tattoo and mural artist that does murals around the country.

    As is normal for you, this is a useful review showing pros and cons.
    I have hearing issues (mainly work/hobby related) and these do appear to be a product I would consider, given your review.
    Thanks, Alan.

    Great review, thanks. These are working good for me in my shop. Biggest drawbacks for me are:
    A) Charging port is not USB-C
    B) Inability to connect two devices at once (I used this a lot with my previous headphones with phone and computer both connected).
    C) There's no battery level announcement on power-on like I get with several other headsets.
    The noise reduction is great, and they are comfortable.

    • @cuseikan
      @cuseikan Рік тому

      Thanks for that info. I need a headset similar to this one. But one that has the ability to connect to 2 phones at once. I know Honeywell makes a dual Bluetooth noise canceling headphones. I just might give that one a try

      I cannot express how quiet they are. I no longer recommend them at all due to that. Mine started on the borderline "Eh this is too quiet but I can deal" and only quieted down. I've had a lot of people complain that they were quieter than they hoped or expected. Granted it has been a few years since I reviewed them, but I don't feel right about not pointing this out.

    Do you know of any bluetooth hearing protection that is compatible with the hard hat mounts? I can't find anything anywhere at all, I seen someone use the 3M worktunes with the hard hat mounts in an amazon review picture but I'm not sure how they did it!

    Just got mine 1 hour ago. i have had 2 phone calls with them on and while the other person can hear my voice clearly they say that every other sound in like a megaphone. I used a squirt bottle and the caller asked me to stop doing what i was doing. What? A squirt bottle is too loud? If you adjust the controls on the side, the beep is extremely loud to the caller. I will most likely return them. If i have to stand still in a quiet environment to use the phone with them then they are pointless.

    FYI ~ I have been wearing over the ears hearing protection 6 days a week for 28 years.
    Now I have hair thinning where the head band rubs. It's not bald, but it looks stupid.
    But I can't stand cramming something in my ears.

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому +2

      May be a concern to many... I’m over that hurdle myself. I was wondering if their design of head band would maybe catch on some peoples hair, but neither Evan or I have hair to say. 😂

    How do they compare to the 3m headphones? Do they announce the FM station call numbers (they have FM, right?). Can you select favorite stations? Are they the same loudness ( I would like the 3m headphones to be louder). Do they have a line in? I want to buy these but I love the 3m Worktunes's interface, it's perfect!

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому +1

      They do not have FM radio (they are Bluetooth only). Being as they are Bluetooth only they also do not have a 3.5mm input either. They are just meant to be wireless. I like them in every single way over the 3M Worktunes. The sound better and are louder. Their battery life isn't as good, but like I said in the review, they last an entire long workday. Charge them when you go home at night and they will be ready to go again tomorrow.
      If you do want to pick them up I have a Coupon code now for 10% off on IsoTune's website: Code 'HotRodHippie10'

    Would be a sale if had am/fm capability. Relying on a phone as signal source all the time sucks. I enjoy morning radio shows. Not too mention burns data, especially when commercials are playing. Do not like being tethered to a device but enjoy my playlist also. Dual capability would be nice.

    What's up with the flap on the other side that has nothing in it, and which is louder in music, 3M Worktunes or IsoTunes?

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому +1

      Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe for future possible designs or a hold over from an earlier iteration. The price of injection mold making is surprisingly expensive for the initial mold construction. Might have been changed too late in the game to justify eliminating it. Pure speculation though.

    Have to figure out how to override the compressor and use the one on your phone. They just aren’t loud enough.

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому +2

      There are some phone apps that can push a bit louder volume but I don’t recommend doing it. Protecting your ears from environmental noise only to then hurt them with the headphones is just defeating the purpose. I’ve used them in some pretty loud environments without issue personally but everyone is different.

    • @DanCastle518
      @DanCastle518 3 роки тому

      I just used them on my mower and I have 3 pairs of iso tunes. The pros which are the best. The free which I don’t like and now these which I don’t like. I don’t think if you were to db these they are 85db even.

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому +1

      @@DanCastle518 I would consider contacting IsoTunes. I know they do have variation in volume levels but I’ve found these to be much closer to the Pro 2.0 in sound level compared to the Frees which are substantially quieter in my experience. You may have an issue.

    These will be worthless to many such as myself who already have hearing damage. I need to turn them up to hear them so the volume limiting feature would have to go away even via. Firmware update before I would be interested.

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  3 роки тому

      I truly doubt that would ever be done. Even with diminished levels of hearing the decibel levels that damage the ear don’t change. So you’d be pretty well guaranteed to further damage hearing. To my understanding of the matter anyway. My hearing is not 100%, though my issue is a continual ringing that can drown out quieter sounds, but I find these just fine for me.
