Very good work. thanks. but please when you sew upper collar with down collar we have to see which part is sewn with which . I mean which part has the facing and which is not. I hope you understand what I mean
Loved the video! A couple questions though: 1.) Is the fabric washed first and pressed or ironed? If yes, is that using starch or a stiffener prior to sewing it all together? 2.) If No, then does that make a huge difference in the fabric after it is washed and pressed once the shirt or blouse is all put together as far as puckering or even how loose the fibers become after the first wearing and then washing and pressing, as the starch is dissipated and then reapplied, or not. Is this something that depends on the fabric type you are using? For instance a 100% Linen vs. Cotton or Cotton blend and then there's other fibers that just don't take stiffeners so I'm assuming they just get either washed and pressed first or it may not really even matter if it's some weird fiber content composition, I guess? 3.) Last question, the stabilizer material that is used in the collar. What is it exactly, and if it's a fusible interfacing is it fusible only on one side, or both, or is that not helpful at all (cause some people and manufacturers have been known to use just a heavily starched thicker weight cloth for that purpose) which would make sense as to why you did such a good job sewing around the outer edges of it in the first step? Sorry, about the extra questions. I've been frustrated more than once where the product is acceptable, then it gets washed in a normal method, and there's wrinkles and bunching and shrinking sometimes in weird ways that shouldn't have happened at all. And then it's just. 😤🤯😔😫 Trying to figure out where things went wrong.
You have to wash the fabric before sewing, especially linen, viskose and cotton, because it shrinks when washed first time! After that I iron the fabric, so the cutting will be neat and exact. If you dont wash your fabric before sewing you might end up with a shirt that is 1 size smaller than you tailored. Also, check if you followed the thread running correctly. I hope this is the correct word for it. I mean, you have to be careful that the pattern lays in the correct direction. You might put your pattern wrong when cutting. There is an arrow on the pattern for the right positioning. I hope I could help.
I've been sewing for over 40 years and never seen a collar done so simply and beautifully. Thank you!

So talented and I appreciate the calming music
I was wondering ,as a beginner, which part of it must be attach to the body, I mean ,the rest of the fabric (bodice)???
You can follow a regular purchased shirt pattern for how to add the collar as constructed here. Hopefully should be straightforward from there.😊
Thanks for the guidance.
