This helpful video popped up on my home page.
Thanks for the tour through your camera bags.
Your insights on why you hold on to your Nikon D5 DSLR for its low-light autofocus performance was interesting. It convinced me to keep my trusty Canon 5D Mark III.
Ever since I got a Canon EOS R, my 5DIII hasn’t gotten much use. So I was considering trading it in.
You reminded me that my 5DIII has served me well when shooting in dimly lit parties, so it’s worth keeping.

I use this workaround now when using my mirrorless cameras in very low light situations:

@@neilvn Thanks for sharing that workaround!
Makes total sense. By adding an LED light, you give more light for the camera to work with and autofocus.
Like you said, not the most elegant solution. But if it works and saves you the cost of upgrading to yet another camera, it’s worth it.

Thanks for sharing. Slow but certain acquisition, seems to be the motto. 😎😎

Great video!! There are many videos and many photogs who would show off lots of gear but practically use only 5% of it and rest of it is really something they either bought or rented for reviews etc. Then there are many on GAS simply buying more gear and changing every now and then. Your gear is all actually used in field. The best experience there can be! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Neil, can you do a video on your sensor cleaning and how you pick and check used equipment? Much thanks! Hope you’ve been doing good ever since your health scare!

A video might be a good idea for a future video. In the meantime, here is the article on what I use to clean my sensor.

As for checking used gear, I am mostly guided by how the lens or camera looks cosmetically -- I prefer the item to look near mint. It implies less wear and tear, and that it hasn't been banged around.

Nice. I only have M9, 28mm Elmarit and 50mm Summilux, all in small Billingham bag. I have mobile phone as an backup, which I had to use once. Yet I deliver the pictures.

The beauty of Leica and Billingham. It is so light and worry-free. No regrets on billinghams.

Neil, are you still using the black foamie thing? I didnt see it in your event bag! :)
Also, just want to say thank you so much for all your instruction videos (tangents) and books. You really have a great way of explaining things and I have learned and improved my own photography so much from you!

Oh, yes, I still use the Black Foamie Thing. I should have pulled that out to show as well.
And thank you for the kind words and support.

You forgot the canon 35mm TS? Or is it just for product photography?

I left out my tilt-shift lenses since I only use them in the studio -- they aren't lenses I cart around in my camera bag.
