- We went again on a roadtrip to the Czech Republic. This year with a special mission. We had the gearbox of the skoda 105 s overhauled at VRBA motorsport. We can only say that this is absolutely real craftsmanship. What a fantastic and nice mechanic Martin is! The entire gearbox and differential have been overhauled. The clutch has been replaced and Martin has repaired a vacuum leak which makes the car start much better when it's warm. The Škoda absolutely drives like a new car. We recommend VRBA motorsport to everyone! And of course applause for the Skoda. Driving (almost to the Slovakian border) with a broken gearbox is quite an achievement. But the skoda just did it :-)
We have visited beautiful museums. Švet Škodovek and Retroautomuzeum. There is so much to see, amazing! Deeply impressed. You need more than one day to see it all. We also visited and participated in a large classic car show. We've met great people. Of course we bought spare parts at the scrap yard. Unfortunately, the trailer broke down. The tyres were too old. But they have been replaced in Leipzig. On our way back we picked up the trailer again. The Felicia drove 3700 KM and the 105 s drove 2450 KM during the trip. We really enjoyed our holiday in the Czech Republic! We hope to come again next year!

Yes! My favorite thing to do. This year a road trip to CZ is already plannend. Maybe we can meet up in the summer of ‘22 in CZ. It’s either with this 105s or the red 120ls which I’m traveling with. 😎

Hey, dankjewel! Haha 😂 Aanrader om ook eens te doen met jouw 105. We hebben buiten de evenementen om slechts 1 rijdende 105/120 gezien. 2 geparkeerde aan de kant van de weg en 2 in een weiland. Inmiddels behoorlijk zeldzaam en veel bekijks in CZ!

We’ve met so many nice people during our trip. We almost drove 4000 KM. We’ve lived to the max. People invited us, opened up their terrace, gave us free beers, gave us presents, nice conversations and showed us beautiful cars. We felt like VIP in the Czech Republic ❤️

Great video! That gearbox really needed some attention, there’s a Mk 3 VW Golf in my town with gearbox that must look similar, at least according to the noises it makes.
Thanks! It sure did. The main bearing broke years ago and caused some serious damage to other parts. Because of the broken bearing there was a constant higher pressure on other parts. We did many roadtrips with this car while the gearbox was already broken. 🙈😊 Even towing trailers in the mountains. This is one tough car, it never let us down. But now it was almost at the end of it’s life. Glad I got it repaired at VRBA. Now enjoying a smooth and silent gearbox. Wish the guy with the Golf good luck 😉
Zo veel auto's gehad, en toch alleen bij Skoda een nostalgisch gevoel... zoveel reizen gemaakt...en weekendtrips Ardennen...5 man en bagage, dwz tenten, slaapzakken etc.. duidelijk minder in mijn nieuwe Dacia Sandero 3...
Leuk om te horen. Škoda’s van toen hadden echt karakter en werden door veel gezinnen ingezet voor de familie vakanties. Mijn ouders namen mijn broertje en mij ook overal mee naartoe in de 120 L. Kwam ook gewoon boven op de top van de Grossglockner. Nu na al die jaren nog steeds een betrouwbare reisauto. De geur, het geluid doen oude herinneringen herleven. De reacties onderweg nu maken het nog leuker. Vroeger geen blik waardig en nu overal gefotografeerd.
