Wow now THIS is a review! Finally someone who not only shows the product but wears and models it as well.Very nice and very thorough review! Actually changed my mind from the DonnyBrook to the classic! Thanks bro!
My wife and I watched a bunch of reviews on the Boston Scally hats and this guys reviews are extremely informative and entertaining. I can't wait to get mine!
Excellent review. I found it amazing how your hats came alive once you put them on..I'm growing a beard for the first time in 30 years so I'll be checking out your reviews!
I waited so long to finally get one, but when I finally got my first one I turned around and bought 3 more, they look slick and are really comfortable.
Great video. I’ve bought 3 scally caps from Boston Scally. Needed a summer cap and didn’t think some of the lighter weight caps looked as good on their website, like the trainer. Seeing them tried on, however, has given me a different perspective. Saw this come up in my Instagram feed yesterday and had to find it on UA-cam to rewatch. Thanks again
Years later, people like me are now finding this video! Indeed this is the best review I have ever seen! I am a shaved headed, close cropped "Van Dyke" bearded guy, and my wife has always preferred me in this type of cap, more than a ball cap or my military boonie hats. So, I bought 3 of the ones you demo-ed and 2 others. My measurement also fell between 2 different sizes, the smaller of which fits me perfectly!. Mike at Boston Scally was great about helping me exchange the 2 bigger ones for the smaller size and made it easy!! You sir have created a Boston Scally monster here in Philadelphia!! LOL! They are more comfortable than all my other hats, and I even forget I have them on! They have a great specials as your FIRST order gets you 15% off, they had 2 different sales, one if which got me 20% off, and whenever you buy three together, you get $25 off! Save your invoice too, as it's good for free shipping if you buy anything not on sale! Great products and great company!! I am so glad I found your review!!
That style cap used to be available with a longer visor, which is actually more flattering to men with larger features, particularly those with more prominent noses. However, they seem to be completely unobtainable going on ten years or more now. I lost mine and would really like to get another but, no luck.
Thanks for the scally cap review. Ca you shar which model of caps you order XL and which you order M/L? I have about a 23-24 inches size. Also, do they stretch much? Informally prefer a snug fit, but comfort is a must.
I LOVE the look of those hats. I especially like that tan one. I need one of those. Unfortunately, the prices are too high from me. I’ll buy some knockoff version from Kohl’s. I’m cheap.
Dude, my wife got me 1 for Xmas. I've always thought to get this cap. And now I have the original from the end of your video. And I absolutely love it! I appreciate your work
I have been tempted a number of times to give a style hat like that a try but have never pulled the trigger. Maybe now that I'm growing a beard I might rethink it again.
I wanna thank you for doing a video on Boston Scally,I keep seeing this company online and wasn't sure how it would look on me, You have a very similar beard that i have and I have my head shaved like you, I just bought the Trainer,All of them looked good on you man,I'm excited to get mine,Thanks again for putting out the best video on this brand that I've seen
A $50 cap should be made in the U.S. Boston Scally Co. caps are manufactured in China, but charging MiUSA prices - you can get a MiChina wool cap for half the price elsewhere, and the plaids might actually be aligned. I find it really sad/ironic that they are going for this whole iconic image, but are peddling MiChina goods.
I'm assuming that you are writing this review through your phone which was made in China. Practically 80% of everything you own is made in China. So again what's your problem with Boston Scally?

I love the detail to all of their caps and the pins... the inside colors and the themes are great too. I love the Irish caps because I'm Irish and I also love the summer plaids. Very nice review!
Great review...just bought two of these. Mine is the Traditional Olive Green Herringbone and one for my 9mos old grandson that is Traditional Brown Herringbone. Should be delivered today!
Nice review on these hats, quick question maybe you can answer me, that Trainer scaly hat did that one seem tighter or looser in your size? Reason I am asking I wear size small, but trying to make sure if I would need a medium on that specific one? Thank you,
i just discovered their hats & their website, & now im tryin to decide, size (wrapin a tape measure around my head reads 23"?), style, materials, etc... so thank u for the video, it was very helpful, & god bless u to man
I just bought the contender in a M/L size. It's a bit too big and doesn't stay on too well on my head so I was thinking of either throwing it in the wash or sending it back to Boston scally for an exchange to a smaller size. What are your thoughts?
I bought my husband several of these hats from Boston Scally and he loves them. He prefers the Go To Hell style hat, like the herringbone you featured at the end. Great review!
Company is a scam! Do not waste your money. The product is so bad you will be sorely disappointed and your wallet will be lighter. The return process does not refund you the full amount of all charges(illegal misrepresentation of product and purchase agreement) and on top of that they bill you, yes you heard me right, they bill you $8.95. You end up losing more than 25% of your original amount spent, then you may or may not be lucky enough to even recover that, as deliveries to the company seem to fail when it is your order you don’t have a phone number to call them and speak directly with anyone. Seriously STAY AWAY!
So glad I found your channel. Haven't been wearing hats. Since COVID started in March, and working from home, I grew a big long white beard. Need something to balance the beard and bald head. Bring on the hats!
Purchased a Boston Scally Peaky hat based upon your video and I was so impressed with it that I purchased a second one shortly thereafter. A little pricey, but that will not keep me from ordering another one in the near future.
They make quality; love the hats. My biggest and only problem is sizing. I ordered the Plaid Peaky in small and it fit perfectly. Later on I ordered the Boondock in the same size and I couldn't even fit this on my son - it was so tight. I can't order with confidence anymore.
I want to say I am 58.4 cm and wear a L majority of the time and an XL sometimes. You could always get a hat stretcher off Amazon and get a L and stretch to fit if too small.
I ordered an original Scally single panel in XL last winter and I love it, and the fit is perfect. After watching this video several times I ordered a Caddy last week, as a summer type hat. I ordered the same size (XL) and its absolutely huge on me, had to send it back. I also didn't like the materials so when I get my store credit I want to order a Worker. Any idea how much smaller then an XL I should order? Do more panels make the hat bigger? Thanks any and all that can help. BTW, outstanding video review, it's really informative and helpful!
The worker is one of my favorites. A large fits me perfectly. Yeah, depending on the style hat, they fit different. I feel like the worker is true to size.
I bought one based off your video. Can't wait for it to arrive - the classic one. Just wondering what kinds of jackets/coats go great with flat caps? I'd like to think you can wear more than just an overcoat, top coat, or trench with this, but wanted your opinion -
I watched your video a couple months ago to see how these caps looked and to decide weather I would like them. Well 11 caps later…. Yeah these caps are awesome.
I life in the New Orleans area. I wear caps all the time. Was hoping to find some thing that could wear to work that look better than a baseball cap. Had my eye on some of the Bourbon line because I like the plaid look. It says it is made of wool and poly. Living in the self what did you say that material will be too hot to wear?
Matt, you need to toss the baseball caps like the first one in the video. The Scallys are the only thing you should be wearing. You put that first one on and BAM! It looks so right!
I think this style generally works for you but the cap at 2:48 fits the best. It's more rectangular and it's a good match for your face shape. Also because you have a big beard you need a more structured hat to achieve visual balance. Get something similar made of wool and it will look badass. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone a bit. A flat cap doesn't have to tightly hug your head like a baseball cap does. Cheers.
You can try. I’ve had good success with hat sizing tape off Amazon which makes the hat slightly tighter. www.amazon.com/Pieces-Size-Reducer-Reducing-Adhesive/dp/B07ZF66QF6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2GU1CNG97LNG6&keywords=hat+sizing+strips&qid=1695901531&sprefix=hat+sizi%2Caps%2C238&sr=8-3

I have the same size head as you. Since you wear both the L and XL, Question, are the different styles sized a little differently, which size fits you best in which style?
Now im a little nervous. I just ordered two hats from this company and after watching this video I dont think they are going to fit. I have a 22 1/2 inch head also and the size chart on the website told me to order a small. You said yours were large. Shit. They charged me a fortune for fast shipping and its still gonna take over a week to arrive. My initial impression about the company isnt good.
@@NoBSBeardReviews I love the video. Been following your channel for years since there was only one beard oil company. I think it was Beardbrand and it was 40 to 60 dollars a bottle. I have 7 flat caps. I've bought 4 from Scally since seeing this video.
Did you notice that the Black Rose ran larger than other Boston Scally brand hats? I just received mine and the M/L measures 60cm which is an XL on their chart.
@@NoBSBeardReviews Thanks for responding. Measured, my M/L (57cm to 59cm) was 60cm. I've reached out to see if that issue is across the line. If so, I'll just get a S which should take care of the issue.
@@jason3106 I did go to a small. It was tight, but I just kept wearing it until if fit properly. I'll probably just stick with Scally Caps instead of Peakys. Scallys fit me perfectly right out of the box.
#1. As soon as you order they send an email saying "Great News Your order has shipped, here is your tracking #". It took three to four days for it to ship. When I asked they stated it was the USPS. IT WAS NOT! USPS showed they picked it up four days later. #2. When it arrived and I opened it up, it was like a crinkled up ball of material. Horrible. #3. The color was WAY OFF. I was supposed to get the light green peaky hat. It was dark dark green. They blamed my computer that it doesnt always look the same on computers. BS!!!!! #4 I looked under the hat rim and it was all excess material loose and strains everywhere. GARBAGE! #5 Odd head shape like the guy in the video said. #6 They charge you to ship and return. I returned mine. I asked for the shipping back. Nothing. I will pay to take them to small claims just to get my $15-18 back just to prove a point.
I have the same size head as you. Since you wear both the L and XL, Question, are the different styles sized a little differently, which size fits you best in which style?
I would go for a L in the peaky styles, and XL in most of the others.
@@NoBSBeardReviews thank you sir.
Awesome video been wanting to see how there hats look up close very helpful
Now im a little nervous. I just ordered two hats from this company and after watching this video I dont think they are going to fit. I have a 22 1/2 inch head also and the size chart on the website told me to order a small. You said yours were large. Shit. They charged me a fortune for fast shipping and its still gonna take over a week to arrive. My initial impression about the company isnt good.
Awesome - Great review. I own two Boston Scally caps, with three on-deck. Cheers!
8:15 Boston accent is Goodwill Hunting. "I got her numbah how do ya like dem apples." "Take the cah down to da habah."
Love it!
@@NoBSBeardReviews I love the video. Been following your channel for years since there was only one beard oil company. I think it was Beardbrand and it was 40 to 60 dollars a bottle. I have 7 flat caps. I've bought 4 from Scally since seeing this video.
How do you keep them in shape. I have one that fit all wrinkled.
Steam it
Did you notice that the Black Rose ran larger than other Boston Scally brand hats? I just received mine and the M/L measures 60cm which is an XL on their chart.
yes, it did feel like it ran larger.
@@NoBSBeardReviews Thanks for responding. Measured, my M/L (57cm to 59cm) was 60cm. I've reached out to see if that issue is across the line. If so, I'll just get a S which should take care of the issue.
Same issue with Irish Rose Peaky. Seems a bit larger than my Boondock. Kind of gives it that floppy Peaky look though. Did you try a small?
@@jason3106 I did go to a small. It was tight, but I just kept wearing it until if fit properly. I'll probably just stick with Scally Caps instead of Peakys. Scallys fit me perfectly right out of the box.
I own several of these. Great company, fantastic hats.
Where'd you get those cool racks for beard products on your wall?
Spice racks off of Amazon.
I just ordered from Boston Scally today. I measure 22” (large) size. I
Hope it fits! Ordered for a trip to RI
How did it work out?
@@NoBSBeardReviews what size did you get the Dubliner in?
@@darylp8750 pretty sure it’s a Large.
@@NoBSBeardReviews I had the Boondock in medium large but sadly lost it so I’m thinking about ordering this one medium large
I don’t know how I missed this video. But I just ordered one of their Peaky hats.
Awesome review brother!
I think Mike Arone is full of himself and thinks he is Rocky. He portrays that he was a ppor kid having to go through garbage as a kid just to have a bike. Funny ... he went to Sacret Heart in Fairfield which is only $68,000/year. He thinks he is a Southie when he grew up in Waltham. A far cry from Southie. CON MAN. He has the drive to own a business but he has ZERO INTEGRITY!!!!!!! Used cars is more their speed. BOSTON SCALLY IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Greg-px7lt calm down big guy.
My experience was amazing and the hat is high quality. 🤷♂️
@@steveokenivo3256 Its garbage. Enjoy
@@Greg-px7lt it’s not though. Take your negativity elsewhere man. I literally don’t care.
I have so many of these hats. I've worn them for years. I do like em a lot but I need to try Boston Sally for sure
Dude, they are great. So many styles, colors to choose from.

You think the Dubliner would still be good in summer? I love that style the most, but I live in Florida where its summer all the time -___-
It’s actually not to bad.
Awesome. I love that style, ordering one now
I have the dubliner & just got the original you wore at the end, best scallys no doubt
Love them! Awesome stuff.

Hell yeah!
Bro!!!! Please tell us what size baseball hat you wear and what you wear from scaly..
I wear an 8 and I’m just curious if they are close to size
I’m a 7 1/2 in New Era fitted baseball caps.
No BS Beard Reviews ok so they are close. I’m an 8. I’m 280lbs . 6’7..... finding shit that fits is sometimes tricky. You look like a bigger dude
Yeah man, got those broad shoulders. I wear a XL in Boston Scally hats, but I believe they go up to XXXL.
The black rose peaky good for winter?
Yeah, it’s on the thicker side.
What is the size of the hats that you use?
Depends on the style, I go over the sizes in the video.
