I just realized something. Like the 90s Tintin show, the producers were very keen on recreating a lot of the panels shot for shot as they were seen in the comics which I found to be very dedicated. This series seems to be doing the same though not as detailed. Considering they most likely had to change Avril getting drunk to just eating food due to censorship reasons, they really DIDN'T have to follow through with him laying in the bed because he wasn't drunk but they did so because they wanted to recreate the shot despite being put in a corner with being unable to show Avril intoxicated (even though their replacement joke still worked because the whole point was Avril is easily bribed). I know this was an early 80s series and cheap animation from this period could be very wonky and they could have done worse to adapt the story, this is actually pretty cool.
Nice to see a series of videos devoted to Lucky Luke in english. As someone who is a fan of this franchise but does not speak french, this is greatly appreciated. Will you talk about the animated "Les Dalton" series at some point? I have yet to find dubs or subs of in english.
I also used to love the comics before they were translated into English, because both my parents lived in France and so knew the language very well. I think the Daltons' own TV series is okay, but it doesn't really interest me enough to make a video about it. I do plan on eventually reviewing the short lived live action Lucky Luke series starring Terence Hill.
Also, Xochitecotzingo is derived from the word Xochitl (nahuatl language) which means flower and Cotzingo (also nahuatl language) which means place of. So the town's name translates to "The Place of Flowers"
The Daltons are awesome. But I can't stand the dog though. Unlike Averell who might not be the smartest fella but is smart in some ways and has had his useful moments. Rintincan's stupidity makes him a useless idiot who's good for nothing and just plain annoying whenever he's onscreen. Coupled with that he has an annoying voice in nearly every animated media he's used in.
