As a teen of the '80s, I remember Gunne Sax very well; mainly for it's prom dresses. As soon as you read aloud the "by Jessica" part of the dress label, I immediately remembered that refers to Jessica McClintock. I couldn't remember the specific details so I just did a quick Google search. Gunne Sax is a now retired clothing label under Jessica McClintock Inc.. Jessica McClintock prom dresses were shown in every teen magazine during Prom season in the 1980s. I ended up wearing one to my Senior prom.
I graduated in '69 and we wore Gunne Sax dresses for prom and graduation. The fact that they're so popular again shows they're timeless. What a blast from the past!
All true. Not sure if a true colab since they didn’t exist back in the ole days. Gunne Sax and Jessica McClintock are different product lines of the same company. If memory (it’s quickly fading) serves correct.
The Gunne Sax is beautiful. I think unless it has some major flaw you got a winner. I don't think the "colab" is going to make much difference, just take really good photos, use great keywords...measurements...this might be a good one for auction even? I usually don't do auctions but if you do a 10 day starting on Thursday around 6pm might be worth it? It looks like a cream color with pastel embroidery so you can use keywords like prairie, coquette, angel core, victorian, romantic. I would get one shot of it with the skirt pulled out to show "sweep" too. What I would care about is close up photos of the bodice and does the zipper work good, is there is any pulled stitching? etc. If I found a gunne sax - I never have...I may have one or two in my closet from my teens though...I would look for others in the store. Sometimes similar things are donated at the same time. Good luck!!!
When I was in high school we lived not to far from from from the Gunne Sax outlet in San Francisco I went there all the time wish i kept some of my dresses !
I just sold a Gunne Sax dress for $100 within hours of listing. I would list for $250 and accept offers. What I would do is list Cottagecore, bridal shower, wedding...perfect time of the year....Good luck!
I've started using small balloons to ship the big and fragile stuff and supplement the bubble wrap. Fun feedback received each time. Too bad I can't fill 'em with helium so they float out of the box... I suppose you might fore warn your customer, so they don't pop and scare the heck out of em on opening. Storage is super easy - and who doesn't like blowing up a bunch a balloons!?!?
Great score on the Gunne Sax dress!! Reminds me I have a Vintage 90s Gunne Sax dress to list, lol. The Gunne Sax line is designed by Jessica McClintock, it is not a colab. The size tag on the Gunne Sax dress looks pretty crisp, like it’s never been through a washing machine. I recently sold a little girls Vintage Daisy Kingdom dress from the 80s for $350. Kicker is I only paid $1 for it.
I used to live in the SF Bay area and Gunne Sax was THEE thing to wear! Don't know about the "by Jessica" think that would be older than the 60s. If it's an odd size 3.5.7.9 etc, indicates it's a juniors size.
I used to live there too! Jessica McClintock bought part of existing Gunne Sax business around 69 or 70. Then she took it over as sole owner and added additional lines. The dresses have dropped a bit in value lately. Womens fashion so crazy. But yes, it was the only place if you lived in the Bay Area during that romance clothing Era. And that was Jessica's vision. And I believe it influenced Diana's dress creation but that might be a stretch.
The Laneige set reminded me that I need to THANK YOU for talking about discontinued scents and fragrances. I recently bought a bunch of Preowned men’s colognes and have made great money! I never would have thought of it.
I was so excited when you showed the tag on the dress.... SCORE! Ive only found 1... with small flaws. If that one is in good condition, id ask $275. 00
Yes, great finds! I sold a pair of Taos Crave Boots but dark cherry leather and NIB for $185 on eBay. Even paid up, $40. Also sold a preowned pair of the tall version of them for $128 on Poshmark that paid $7 for. I sold two Gunne Sax dresses, $140 something and $169 even with damage/wear. Paid $6 and $9. And listed one yesterday, paid $8.
Gunne Sax is a BOLO, but if it’s vintage, be sure to put the measurements in the listing because vintage sizes run small. Keywords cottage core, BOHO, fairycore, prairie, hippie, grannycore.
You found Such amazing items, Taos is such a great brand like Dansko when you have feet problems like plantar fasciitis. That Gunne Sax Dress is really nice you should be able to get a great amount for it. The size is 9 which is a Juniors size, hopefully it won’t make too much of a difference.
I like to use pool noodles for packing. They're $1.25 at Dollar Tree. Cut them to fit your needs. I would have put a cut piece of pool noodle under the handle of the sewing box and then some cut pieces in the corners of the box for cushion. Much cheaper than bubble wrap. Of course, wrap the item in bubble wrap for extra security. I have been reselling since August 1997 on eBay and have shipped all kinds of odd shaped / sized items. It's a learning curve! 😂
And Doggone it people like me!! haha (think SNL) Thanks for the motivational speech. I seriously needed that perspective. Sales are down and have been for 3 months. Great dress!! I found my first one a few months back and unfortunately, it was damaged beyond repair :(
I am still admiring your ability to thrift so well. I believe I am falling hard for you . I love the connection you have with your daughters and how they come before all things. It’s so hard to wait on your video to see you, handsome.
Great find on the dress. Romantic Cottagecore prairie comes to my mind for key words. Thanks for those words of encouragement. I needed to hear that . I have a big thrift day planned today
Pay attention to the shipping charge after its delivered. I've noticed that some of them are different than what is quoted on ebay. Sometimes even double. I'll never use Fed Ex again. I'll pay the couple extra dollars and ship usps or ups. I dont think they've screwed me over... yet.
Kudos to you for packing up that sewing box. I wouldn't do it for 60. 200 maybe. I'm not a seasoned eBay seller so maybe that's why. That dress was a great piece for resell!
Hey, a question for you how do you have all of your items at 50% off? Do you just list things and then put the ones you currently list on a sale last forever? I’m just curious if it’s a secret I guess I don’t need to know, but I was very curious how you do that.
He has said once that the seller he modeled his listings after way back when he got started did this and it has worked for him so he has kept it going.
Omg loved this. Brought tears to my eyes as i was repeating after you! I needed this. 🥲 Thank you! Sending good positive vibes your way, and all of us Resellers way for an amazing sales weekend!
You did great with the Gunne Sax!! If i were you, I would list it for close to $300.
I screamed when you showed the Gunne Sax. I feel like it will do great!
I just sold a brand new Gunne for $400. I have another wedding Gunne new, listed for $700. Both were estate finds, both new with tags.
List high and take offers.

You can price high on that Gunne Sax. That's a very desirable style for summer & would make a great alternative wedding dress too.
I went $299 with some help on the pricing.
YEEEEEEEEES! GUNNE SAX! DON'T TAKE ANY LOWBALLS
Jessica McClintock dress usually had lace. Gunne Sax was more the prarie style.
Thank you for this
Awesome find with the Genne Sax. It is difficult to shop outside your comfort zone, but, clothes and shoes are great sellers for me.
I bought a sewing box like that at goodwill. Sold for 75.00 it was a good flip
You found a gem!!!!!! The vintage Gunny Sac spelling. dress is amazing.

Gunne Sax for the win! When you see women’s sizes in odd numbers, that usually means it’s a junior size (teens/young adult)
I just sold a Gunne Sax dress for $100 within hours of listing. I would list for $250 and accept offers. What I would do is list Cottagecore, bridal shower, wedding...perfect time of the year....Good luck!

I am worthy of happiness.
I am worthy of success.
Love it! Needed that today, Ty!
That Gunne Sax rocks! Size is a teen girl’s junior size 9. I got married in 1978 and had a similar white tiered gown that I wore to my rehearsal.
Great find with the vokeys! I found a nike method putter at a garage sale for $5 today that sells for $130!
Keywords for the gunny...embroidered bodice boho billowy gown semi sheer festival hippy wear
Dying! Love that gunne sax 🙌🙌🙌
I love that dress! Great find
Size 9. Teen, girl sizes were odd, women’s sizes are even.
My last gunne i had sold for 220. Gl!!!😊

Good luck on the Gunne Sax/Jessica McClintock dress! 🎉👗🛒✨️👏💥🤞🏽
The Laneige set reminded me that I need to THANK YOU for talking about discontinued scents and fragrances. I recently bought a bunch of Preowned men’s colognes and have made great money! I never would have thought of it.
For the dress, use keywords like peasant, prairie and cottagecore to sell it better.
I was so excited when you showed the tag on the dress.... SCORE!
Ive only found 1... with small flaws. If that one is in good condition, id ask $275. 00
Gunne sax is my favorite thing to find!! Auction!

I was doing your mantra with you and then you said Hi Sara! And I took that as an even better sign for me😊❤ thanks you!!
And Doggone it people like me!! haha (think SNL) Thanks for the motivational speech. I seriously needed that perspective. Sales are down and have been for 3 months. Great dress!! I found my first one a few months back and unfortunately, it was damaged beyond repair :(
I would have done a little jump for joy if I had found the Laneige masks. So expensive at Sephora.
Gunne sax on my bucket list ❤
minute 6:02 you went past a tommy bahama sweater - I would have grabbed that
Beautiful Gunne Sax! Great find!
My mantra… progress not perfection.
Also.. just keep moving! Haha
You are doing a great job finding BOLOs outside your comfort zone.
I just found a pair of Allen Edmonds Danbury penny loafers in excellent condition. You should be able to get 40-50 for those.
I am still admiring your ability to thrift so well. I believe I am falling hard for you . I love the connection you have with your daughters and how they come before all things. It’s so hard to wait on your video to see you, handsome.

Agreed- it is FedEx that is notorious for this.
The other shoppers must not have been resellers. Great pickup
French toast sticks.., yum, lol
C width is narrow for men. D is medium. Thats why.
Go figure. I’ve been sitting on three pairs of perfect Allen Edmonds dress shoes for a
Over a year. They just don’t sell like they used to.
