Honestly. All I've done is binge watch your videos and THISSSSS video is an answer to my prayers. Im not living in a place where patterns are accessible so I'm going to have to more or less eyeball most of my designs or free hand it! Thank you so much!

I recently found your videos and love your style of sewing. I just made your tiered skirt and although I made several mistakes (including not pre-washing my fabric) but am in love with the finished product! My mother sewed everything she wore and all my clothes through childhood but I was never interested in making my own clothes, until I found your videos. So at age 65, I am thrilled to be learning how to make clothes that fit. Planning a pair of pants, and definitely another skirt. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love how you explain and very easy to understand. I did learned to sew by myself and is a wonderful hobby to have. We lear with our mistakes and practice with cheap material it’s the best advice.
Thank you so much. Keep the good work😊

I loved that you're making (and explaining) adjustments to the copied pattern instead of simply cloning the top one-to-one! Thanks for inspiring me to do something similar myself 😅

This video and your self drafted skirt video have officially inspired me to sew more! I made a tiered skirt with the help of your video and then a couple days later helped introduce my friend to sewing and we made her a single tiered skirt too!!!! Realizing it’s really not that hard and I just need to get my machine out and sew has been so much fun 💛💛💛

Great job! Trial and error is one of the best ways to learn, IMO. I made your Lane pants and I love them and got compliments on them. Looking forward to making your front tie dress next!

This is a great video. So glad I found you. I have a dress I love, it has a yolk/facing also and I just didn’t know where to start. Now I do, thank you 😊

It is called a facing! I think a yoke is on the outside!

Yes it is a facing, I’ve never seen a squared off one like the one on the old navy top. Maybe that’s why she keeps calling it a yoke? Idk

Loved watching this! I took pattern drafting class in school when I was getting my degree in fashion design, and I loved watching this! Haven’t done it in awhile, but now I am inspired!

I absolutely love your home grown style of sewing!! I’m about to start my first attempt at a project like this with my fave shorts so let’s see how that goes😮‍💨
I did have a semi unrelated question!
So I really want to make the dream skirt from one of your recent tuts, but I also would want to give it a “wear the skirt as a strappy dress” option. I have an idea of how I might go about it (something like using the arm straps as a waist cincher) but I was wondering if you had any ideas or advice!!
tysm for all the amazing content you’re serving us😋

My biggest issue is trying to clone stretchy dresses that I want to use for a sturdy material like cotton/linen. Feels impossible but I know I will figure it out eventually, do u have a video on that? lol

I enjoyed the video. Instead of making a facing, I would have bound the edges with some kind of bias tape.

Can you salvage the French navy top by cutting down the front and back and sewing back together?

It looks great, however visually I think the original width of the straps worked better.
