That's a cool homebrew project. I am looking at the same supply. Just sold a pyramid ps52kx. I won't miss it.

Very Nice Switching power supplies & I really like the Volt/Amp/power box you built very handy for the test bench. I have the Megawatt S-700-12 fifty amp ordering a 2nd one for a 100 amp supply. These are made in the 🇺🇸

Thanks Miguel. Sounds like you could weld steel with yours if you wanted.

@@miguelsalami A shunt is a must. Either positive or negative can be dangerous as the shunt is like an exposed wire. But at least on the negative side if it bumps the chassis, it won't be a short from the positive to ground. Assuming negative ground.

@@timtimeprojects3576 I have shunt run from negative side of amplifier into a 5 way insulated ground block that both 50 amp power supplies run to in parallel. Amperage & Volt meter combo gauge like yours & it's all working perfect 👍👍Thanks!

if it is made in the USA, why do all the parts and the terminal board look just like the Chinese switch mode power supplies.

had 36Amps for 8yrs, only complain is the FAN noise. Now i found an HP 60Amp Server power supply with whisper noise :)

I have two of those HPs but had trouble setting it up, it wouldn't turn on. What's your experience with these and how'd you go about it? Did you find a good website on it?

@@revadan yeah I think I did that. I'll have to get back to it, got so many projects ATM. Running tubes now too. I know they're a good quality supply. Thanks.

Sorry for the dumb question but it appears that you have wires from all three V+ posts on the Mega Watt combined and connected to the + banana jack? is that correct? If so, is that necessary? In other words, can a single V+ post on the power supply provide 30A? Any chance you can post a schematic of how your project box is wired? The resolution in the video makes it difficult to see. Thank you.

I like the video and really like how you made a box to utilize the power supply and being able to see your voltage and amperage draw, nice job on it. would you care to share what meter you have in it? I just got one of these MegaWatt (S-400-12) power supply's because they are (made in the USA) I got it yesterday and got it wired up and running so I can build a base station in my garage. I'm going to be using it to power up my rci 2950 cd and a small 200-watt amplifier, I'm running it at 14.23 volts just as much as your vehicle's charging system put's out. so far so good I'm having no problems with it handling what I'm using it for.

Are you using an isolation transformer on the amps or your scope? Or is the amps ground post isolated from your main ground?

I just bought one of these to run my icom 718 HF rig and my icom 2300h 2 meter mobile rig in the house I hope I didn't waste my money as I know with some switching power supply generate noise on HF bands.

I have several of these and none make any noise on 27mhz, at least. The 50amp ones are noisy as hell.

No interference??.....lol....go to 40 or 80 meters hf and check again! Youll find LOTS of noise coming from that pile of junk!!
