Thank you for your video, the shaft was about 3” away from motor and one bolt was almost completely loose while the other was hand tight. Pushed shaft in and tightened screws: DONE!! Thank you John!!!
Thank you for your tip of the assembly possinly being loose. I noticed the line and arrows were about 3,/4" below the housing. Would not have looked at that right away had I not watched your video. Thank you!
Well I be damn. Thank you so much for this simple & extremely helpful UA-cam video. 👍🏼 I thought that I accidentally put the wrong gas in my weed eater lol. You’re the man!!
The shaft is inside the housing, if the housing becomes loose as shown by an inch or so, you should suspect that the shaft has slipped out of the clutch. This was the case for me. You need to ensure the shaft is still inside the spinner and inside the clutch at the motor end. This requires removing the motor housing and being careful to slide the shaft back into the square hole without pulling it out of the other end. I'm no expert this is just what I discovered. In the picture above this gentlemen is assuming that the shaft is still inside the clutch.
You just saved me from buying a new weed wacker. It was exactly the problem. Thanks brother.

Exactly my issue. I set that boy down gently on a bail of pine straw now.
tried this, still left with a sizeable gap before it grabs and would start spining. also tough to push down hoping it is not bigger issue
Sorry to be a rube, but do you use a Torx to unscrew/screw those bolts?
I had a problem eith my edger.....on th PE225. The motor ran but the blade didnt. I then removed the shaft slanb reversed the ends and it worker
What screws are on there and what size?. Thanks

My shaft is tight as hell, any idea what that is
This DID not work for me - I can't push in. Any other suggestions??
Hi Echo 225 won't spin but its not loose like yours? Any idea how I should fix this issue, its really sad I just bought and used it for 1 day.
My screws were just loose I tightened them and it worked
Mine won’t push down that far
You probably have to take it apart and rotate the shaft because it’s not lining up
