- Here I am at Kawachi Fuji Garden or Kawachi Wisteria Garden. This kind of flower, my Japanese friends call it ‘Fuji’ because it is another kind of symbol (of Japan), apart from Sakura. The full bloom might take 1-2 weeks a year, from late April until early May. So, if you are here in Fukuoka Prefecture, you might you must come here.
This trip started at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. We did an easy check-in at a kiosk around Thai Airways Counter. Nowadays, we can check-in via ThaiAirways.com, Thai Airways Mobile Application or at Self Check-in Kiosk here. Really convenient and save time!
On-board, it was a smooth flight with full services and great inflight entertainment. We enjoyed breakfast in the sky just before we landed in Fukuoka.
My hotel is in a walking distance to Hakata station. This morning, I enjoyed shopping for breakfast before boarding the train. As there is no food available at Kawachi Wisteria Garden, it is recommended that we have some food and drinks in our bag.
From Hakata Station, we got on a local train on JR Kagoshima Main Line to Yahata Station. It took about an hour. After we arrived Yahata station, we decided not to take buses as it needed a lot of connections and a long walk to the garden.
The most convenient way is that we took a taxi which took around 20-25 mins and it costs you 3,000 yen (one-way). But, you can just take a taxi up to 4 people.
I booked the ticket in advance. I bought tickets from convenient store, and it costs 500 yen each. And, you pay an extra fee. When it is full bloom, it might cost 1,000-1,500 yen per person. At the entrance, you pay the extra fee.
You could explore the whole place up to 2 hours. It is really beautiful. You might see that it is one of the most beautiful places in Japan. Actually, it has been ranked as one of the most beautiful places in Japan by CNN.
Opened in 1977, Kawachi Wisteria Garden is a private garden located in Kitakyushu city in Fukuoka Prefecture, owning a large number of over 20 kinds of wisterias in a 10,000 square meters area. The founder, Masao Higuchi, and his family have devoted themselves to growing wisteria flowers with great care and deep love.
The highlight of this garden is two stunning tunnels made with numerous wisterias. The tunnels are covered with beautiful wisterias in various colours, creating overwhelming views.
After we finished touring the garden, we took a taxi back to Yahata Station then caught a train back to Hakata Station, feeling fulfilled.
We can do Self Check-in at Fukuoka Airport! It is fast and easy, no need to stay in a long line. Early check-in is up to 12 hours prior to departure time. Choose the seat you preferred, print your boarding pass, and drop your bag. Alternatively, we can check-in via ThaiAirways.com or Thai Airways mobile application up to 24 hours prior to departure time.
Hope you enjoyed exploring Kawachi Wisteria Garden with me. Thai Airways has daily flights from Bangkok to Fukuoka. Stay tuned for the next episode. Please subscribe.

It really is! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Hi, did you have any issues finding a taxi on the way back from the garden? We are going there soon and are unsure of the transportation in and out of the garden. Thanks!
There is a taxi stand in front of the garden, so it is not difficult to find. Many visitors go there by taxi. Wish you a great trip! 😃
thank you so much for this. ive been worried since google only gives me a 3 hr ride from hakata to the garden.
You’re welcome! Kawachi Wisteria Garden is worth visiting. Enjoy your trip! 😄

@@paulocabello597 Thanks so sharing. I am glad the video is useful for your trip. I myself would like to revisit the Kawachi Wisteria Garden again too. ;)
Hi there, what time of the day did you go? were there plenty of tickets left when you booked? For each time frame, did they make all people exit first before letting people from another time frame in? Thanks!
How long you have to prebook the entrance ticket?
I bought the ticket from a vending machine in 7-11 in Fukuoka just one day before the visit. (500 yen) 😊
What date is this?
First week of May. Wish you a great trip!
Very nice ❤
Many many thanks krub 😊🙏
