- GUEST CHOIR DIRECTOR::::I had the privilege of bringing Choir Rehearsal to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church (Atlanta, GA) as a guest for New Year's Eve Morning Service!

Absolutely!! African Americans, who historically en masse, have no written tie to a specific African country or tribe, the descendants of slaves, have created so much in America. From Gospel music, to blues, rhythm and blues, hip hop, jazz and rock and roll--- African Americans have such God-given ability and the Black Church has been the core of the overcoming story!!! ❤❤

This blessed my heart so much. There are so many that can sing and don’t think they can. The bass brought tears to my eyes remembering the Bass in the choir that held their own and are now singing in the heavenly choir. Use your gifts for the Lord praising and lifting up our Lord and Savior. Use it while you can because I can’t stand because of knee and back problems but On 5th Sunday when our Women Chorus sing and Im asked to lead a song I use my voice sometimes sitting , hey guess what God enjoy our praise whether laying , standing or sitting. Let everything that have breath sing!!!!!

I am SOOO glad she did not forget the basses. I am a bass and so many times in contemporary gospel the bass section is not even considered. God made us. All men are not tenors. If we are forced to be tenors, we will strain and damage our voices.

This is brilliant!! Much needed for such a long time, for so many choir rehearsals. As a musician myself, I am often very surprised at the difficulty many have, not only hearing and teaching parts, but conducting the order of a great rehearsal. Love this!! ❤

I love watching your choir rehearsals. A few of these songs have come up recently in my praise team rehearsals, so I go to rehearsal Ready. LOL
The way she teaches reminds me of my uncle!!! We use to have rehearsal like this!!! He used to do trios from each section to make sure everyone knew their note!!! This was before I was allowed to play with the band!!!

The recorded beat should’ve come later in the rehearsal. It’s annoying to listen to. And all those people are going to sing in the choir? That’s the entire congregation.
Dear Ben….thats actually the point. This is just a fun activity to turn the congregation into a choir for just that moment to promote participation, engagement, encouragement for people who feel they can’t sing or can’t join a worship team. This is for encouragement, not judgment or an actual performance. We call it choir rehearsal for nostalgic reasons. Be blessed!
I'm sorry but the beat there plays a very important role in keeping time. Music is sound in time and it's always annoying directing a choir and folks just draaaag that time. It kinda causes migraine. So the beat helps in consistency
