- First Playthrough and I'm loving it so far. Really glad I decided to wait to play Prime cause they decided to surprise us with this!
I had a strict no backseat request on my stream cause i want to experience this as organically as possible and it's really paid off. Getting lost and finding your own way is legit my favorite thing in these types of games :D
So if you're not gonna like people getting lost in a game they've never played before, you're not gonna like this playthrough lol

There really is nothing like getting lost and finding that upgrade that makes you go "I remember the door that needed this!"
it's the best
Literally every Metroid game I've ever played, including the first one on the NES, has given me that feeling
"But where the hell was it???"
I have the curse of having memory of a goldfish while being obsessed with search action. Trying to play axiom verge now and literally in tears
One of the greatest games of all time. Every gamer needs to play this.
agree. and the rest of the series also is incredible. Super metroid was one of the first video games id ever played and its incredible. I cant wait for them to remake Prime 2 and 3 and also 4 as well !
one of the greatest piece of art humanity have created.
Honestly, I love how you play this. Most people I've seen just rush through it or get aggravated by it. I can tell it's not for them. It seems like you are enjoying what makes this game what it is.
what are you talking about? She keeps running around ignoring almost everything which could be scanned and then she is running in circles in one room. Didn't she say she played Metroid games before?
Subjective opinion: metroid prime had a better story told through more clever world design than any halo at the time. Its biggest draw back was always its controls and *maybe* its backtracking. That last part tho, imo, is part of the package when it comes to metroidvanias.
Okay, I gotta say that I was losing my mind for like ten minutes trying to search my memories for that HELLOOOOH sound. Kept trying to see the person saying it, then heard the jackpot, and BAM Agent Cooper. Glad to see someone who's never played get to play through this way. Happy hunting!
One nice little touch I love in the beginning of the game, is something I may have seen in a few sci-fi movies. When you scan to have the Air pressurization activate for the entry area, it shortly after activates normalization of the gravity of the area and you see all the floating objects drop. I'll never grow tired (or "grow weary" as Kratos used to say) of seeing that happen.
1:28:06 oh man, yeah, back when games were fun and not an effing chore or business model. We really didn't know how good we had it.
Happy to see another new player of the great classic! My childhood in a game 😊
I’ve beaten this game countless times, but this remaster has managed to give me a completely fresh experience, and I’ve not been able to get enough of it, especially with the modern control options.
This was already one of the greatest video games of all time, but now it’s even better.
Exactly my thoughts with Remastered.
I'd say it's the definitive version to play.
@@TheZero1312 100% agree!
i love how they even created new 3D assets to add more detail to the world
@@DekkarJr and it loads even faster than the original disk media with even more detailed geometry. Awesome!
The only thing is i found at least 3 areas in the game where there are instances of invisible left-over geometry with collision that i have accidentally hit and failed to make a jump. Weird.
You def had me at Metroid Prime first time but sold me at “derelict my balls”. I hope you enjoy the game, it was formative in my youth and I literally pogged at samus coming out of the ship and still do to this day.
I was waiting for you to play this! I'm glad you're having fun. I got this when I was 7 back in 04. It actually helped me learn how to read with all the scans. Take your time and have fun!!!!
Here I thought she was going to play slow and read all the lore scans. An hour in so far and I just hope she picks up the habit down the line.
Saw your stream on the xbox via youtube there, was going to say one thing about that game is the map system is very well done in it and it looks great in that game as well. MP has a good amount of lore in the game so if you are in to that and such, scan everything you can .... creatures, turrets, the chozo lore as well, just a lot to scan .... your log book is pretty extensive. Granted the story is not overly extensive but by scanning the chozo lore, and pirate logs, you can get a good feel for what is happening and did happen to the planet. Scanning creatures can expose weak spots .... hope you continue to enjoy it.
It was really funny seeing you geek out over the rain effects. I got a GameCube for Christmas 2002 and I bought Prime with my gift money, I was 9 about to turn 10. I remember being blown away by the environment effects like steam and rain on the screen and showing it off to my dad.
I really liked this gameplay, I have already finished the whole trilogy a couple times on Game Cube and Wii (I also got the physical version of this and it is like playing it for the first time), so I'm kind of a Metroid Prime "veteran" and I really enjoy watching when people new to the franchise experience this games for the first time, most reactions I can relate to. It requires a special type of gamer to enjoy the Prime series and Metroid in general, so I suscribed because I thought the way you play is perfectly suited for this, I hope to check the rest of your content soon. Keep up with the great content!
maybe im a masochist or something. watching this was indeed painful when im sitting here screaming SCAN PLS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SCAN! when you got to the charge beam room and left it twice, but scanned everywhere else just randomly! hahaha ima watch every one of these but omg im gonna be so frustrated lol
FIRST PLAYTHROUGHS AMIRITE
Metroid games never disappoint with giving me those "Aha!" moments.
I am just starting this game myself. Big nostalgia trip for me. So excited to see you play more!
Damn, this is a nostalgia trip. As someone who played all 3 prime games religiously once upon a time, watching you play this is putting a silly smirk on my face lol.
Hell, I might as well buy the remastered as well and the other two games if that ever happens.
Have a good one✌
I really feel like half the people who play this for the first time need it pop up a message every 10 minutes that just says SCAN.
You laughed at motion controls but pointer shooting on Wii was better than any control stick or even mouse and keyboard option in history. Like how RE4 on the Wii is by far the best version of that game
god i wish the RE4 remake had a pointer option.
Oof using the scan visor so much at the start I was like "Well at least Charge Beam and the Arboretum won't be an issue."
Did none of you tell her that the game has a Log Book that all the Scans go into so she doesn't have to write everything down? You guys are EVIL!
you must be new. i like writing things down.
To help recover from the first game, Ridley becomes a cyborg, but removes the mechanical parts when he fully recovers and gets his body blown apart in Super and dies. There is a clone of him (though the face is wrong) in Other M and an X infested clone of him in Fusion.
Wait until you see the trilogy's game over screens.
"Why is it a mech already"
This isn't the first Metroid game. Ridley has been defeated once already at this point in the timeline and doesn't fully recover his organic body until the events of Super Metroid.
Also he's not a mech, he's a cyborg. Still part organic
That arm cannon overheat effect was apparently coded into a separate layer on the screen from the cannon itself. On the GC, the cannon is always in the same place on the screen, so the heat effect just appears at a specific coordinate that looks like its coming from your gun. Wii pointer controls meant the cannon can be pointing anywhere on screen, so the effect would no longer appear at the tip of the gun. Possible they didn't bring it back for the same reason, since the pointer controls are available as an option in the remaster.
Some gamers definitely complained about the controls back when Metroid Prime released, since GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Halo were around as console shooters.
Really, your opinion of the original controls are going to be affected in large part by if you're expecting a shooter or a first-person but Zelda-esque adventure game. Or at least that was the case back in 2002-2003.
For what it's worth I hope you do play it slow and scan EVERYTHING. the story is in the environment and all the scans they set up
The masterpiece returns!
Metroid Prime. I heard such good things about this game but i didn't have the chance to play it. Metroid Prime is a great and unique fps game . Thanks to your streams Bee i found out the Metroid 2d series and now the Metroid Prime. If i ever buy a Nintendo console Metroid series is one of the reasons i will buy it .
Thanks Bee for streaming these great games and keep up the good work as always.
And the best part is, the Switch is slowly gonna have all the essential Metroid games waiting for you to enjoy.
Morphball moves fasters, for future reference
So glad to see new players get to enjoy this masterpiece again 20 years later
Really enjoyable playthrough. Reminds me of my first time
HAHAHA dope i just got this game for the gamecube lol now I wanna get either a Switch or a WiiU 😅
These games are fun can't wait for the other 2 remasters
Such an incredible game and an amazing series of games. And props to Nintendo for the $40 price tag when they could have easily made it $60
Let’s be honest though, $40 is good only when you look at Nintendo’s standards. They’re always ripping their customers off. $30 would have been more appropriate
@@TrueGamerWooNintendo fans try not to complain about literally anything challenge (impossible)
@@TrueGamerWoo nah, 40 is fine. Other companies have sold their BS "remasters" for 60 without putting in even half the effort.
Taking your time to explore the environments and to scan everything is the right way to play the game, don't worry!
Didn't even realize it was possible to skip charge shot lol
>laughs at motions controls when it's literally the best and smoothest way to play
that part made me sad. pointer gang
The Wii Prime Trilogy didn't use motion for the aiming, it used IR, which the Switch doesn't have. IR worked brilliantly for this game, it's a shame the "Motion" setting isn't authentic to the Wii's experience.
I like your personality and your commentary. You just got a new subscriber.
I was surprised to find that there are options to turn on narration subtitles for the opening and ending that was originally in the Japanese and European localizations. They don't say much but they're there if you're curious about it
Metroid Prime 2 is top tier
I don't care that I'm spending 40 more dollars (USD) to double dip. I want the physical copy as part of my collection.
Told ya I will be watching ya on the UA-cams! Metroid is my favorite series and it looks like an epic remaster. Also, glad you also got addicted to scanning everything. It's legit all I did in this game when I first played.
Also, hilarious how many times you had to say "first play through, yep. It's in the title."
So great to see a new Metroid gamer join the ranks.
This game is before your guys time
The masterpiece is back!
The real reason i watch blind Metroid Prime playthroughs is to see how people intuit information and how perceptive people are. So far, i have been disappointed in our society's grasp of observation in games, and by extension, in real life situations. So far, this has been an interesting case study of how we use our ability to assess , discern and process information in this age of vast information overload. Let us see how this playthrough turns out.
Perfect comment right here. My thoughts exactly. Also, it's a patience exercise as well.
@@samy29987 Thanks 🙂
I’m with you on this - I think you’re going to be a bit disappointed with this play through…! 😕
@@AppManc well, i gotta be real. I dont get disappointed in the people playing the game, but i blame the real cuprit: our society's emphasis on the lack of patience, needing quick results, and its "dont think", "let's go!" attitude of not taking time to observe. Our society is kinda screwed. We just dont stop. Look. Think.
We are too quick to act.
I'm sad to see Metroid Prime get recognition after the REMASTER came out and not when it originally came out 20 years ago 😔 this game blew me away when I was 10 years old and there has been no game like this for years to come, not even today!
I have a big brain prediction that they are going to bring out each remastered game every year around the same time and then on the 4th year. We will then get Metroid prime 4.
not really big brain but that's my prediction anyway.
@@starrk7158 yeahhh. That probably won't happen now :/
@@nintony2994 yeah with the year gone by, Clearly my prediction was really off.
@@starrk7158 we know the game is finally coming out now tho. With no further delays hopefully
@@nintony2994 aye, it looks like it's finished and I'm looking forward. They are probably just polishing it off for the late 2025 release. But you never know, it's possible that they will release the game over the next year. Obviously I'm not holding my breath like. It's also possible they only planned Metroid prime 1 as a tester to the reception on the controls for prime 4.
@@starrk7158 fair observation
Samus is the OG monster hunter. Also, the planet destroyer. Also, the genocidal maniac. XD Never seen her once get paid any bounty so is she really a bounty hunter?
The spacial awareness of this woman.
Alien Isolation was a bit of a Metroidvania. Areas you couldn't reach without certain upgrades etc.
I knew it!
I kept pressing the left button to scan and was like why am I doing it? It just feels right for it to be the left button, but in this game it’s right button so I just figured the original must have been the left button and my body must be reacting that way for that reason
You're finally here!
Ahh classic. Takes me back to my senior year in high school.
She reminds me of Anita sarkeesian (in a good way)
Damn I remember I played this game on gamecube I got to get a switch to play this game
plus they’re releasing Prime 4 possibly next year
@@noahsabadish3812 what really
@@Kurosakijoseluis88 nope lol
But next, next year as of this comment :)
Strange, is the narration turned off by default?
yes (in the NA version anyway) but can enabled
The original controls worked because the game was less combat based and more exploration based. So the movement kinda plays to that. I get most new fans wouldnt but id recommend the original set up for full feeling
Nah, No point in going back
The control scheme was a limitation of the GameCube Controller not having a proper dual stick
@@jesusramirezromo2037 yeah but the gameplay catered to that. If this game were super combat based id agree. But combat isnt really that dynamic. It works plenty well without it. More than well. If it werr more like the 2d id say yes
I enjoyed the OG controls a lot. Took hours to get used to but they were really well designed
@@olsonbryce777 i mean back in the day what little i played of this it was suuuuper intuitive. I get 22 years later maybe not. If the game were super combat focused then the controls wouldnt work. But its way more exploration based. All combat was meant to be lock on. You were never NOT fighting while locked on. You werent really meant to. Its why the game isnt actually a true fps. Its considered action adventure. The game wasnt meant to have free look like that. To be fair i dont see it detracting at all either. Makes the game easier to look at all the pretty landscapes for sure. But the game isnt harmed by modernized controls just as much.
pointer is the way
1:30:04 Too real!
finish reading lore once you start. you just stopped after "Zebes has fallen" lol
Zebes has fallen. All ground personnel are presumed dead, either killed by the Hunter clad in metal or in the subsequent destruction of the underground facilities. Out research frigates Orpheon Siriacus and Vol Paragom were in orbit at zero hour and managed to retreat. Frigate Orpheon is now docked at Vortex outpost. Orpheon's cargo appears to have 100% survival rate: Metriods are healthy but on restricted feeding schedules due to uncertain supply status. We are ready to begin research on the Metriods and other promising life-forms. Secruity status remains at Code Blue: no signs of pursuit from the Hunter.

16:40 y cant metroid crawl?
This is my favourite metroid game, but I don't think it's as good as One Piece episode 1015
Cox is 100% the worst internet lmao so sorry. This game has been an absolute dream though
No idea how people can hear what she's talking about with the dog barking. The volume on the game is so quiet I can only hear the loud parts even with headphones on
Next time turn up the sound of the game during your play through
Agree
I judge by what chat says and everyone said it was good so I went with it. I can't hear what the stream sounds like. It's either going to be too loud or too quiet no matter what I play. Just saying, it's not as easy as telling me "next time turn up the sound" cause that literally means anything lol. Streaming, amirite.
@@Runebee Either way wow what a great play through! I can't wait to see you break 1 million subs.
omg metroid forgot about these games

The best advice I'll give you for this is to care less about knowing where to go. Watch the walkthrough guide online and be entertained then play it yourself. It's one of the most enjoyable entertaining awesome surreal experiences you'll ever have. Oh yeah and the music will blow your mind. Forget Prime 2 and 3 for now. PRIME 1 is the greatest individual game of all time. 😊
why should she watch a walkthrough before playing? How lame would that be?
