This movie felt to me like a solid example of what it's like to be in an Evil Dead situation when you aren't Ash Williams. Or put another way, it's like a bridge between the Raimi movies and the 2013 one that makes it feel more like they all actually do take place in the same setting. The deadites taunt their victims and toy with them like in the Raimi trilogy, but without the lens of that Bruce Campbell mania, it's more gritty and scary.
Me & my wife saw this last night, loved it, & I love how they made sure to let the audience know that all 5 of the movies & the show are connected with a single sentence.
I think we all need to support Lee Cronin for taking this job on. It's a great movie, and a good Evil Dead movie. As a fan, I will always want more, but, what he did does move the franchise forward. I really hope this results in more Evil Dead movies, but that will depend on the box office results. The internet if full of people talking about this movie, but it doesn't look like audiences are flocking to it :(
As of recent, it’s one of the few better horror films imo (even though I have minor nitpicks). Actors killed it, especially the ones who turned. Overall, as an Evil Dead movie, it’s solid. We need horror films to be in a good place again.
I hope 2013´s Mia , Ash and Beth will cross paths at some point as they are in the same universe. I had hell of a ride with Rise an man the movie is mean as fu** with every single character and I LOVED IT 😍
Doubt ash will return bruce campbell was too tired acting as that chainsaw guy. Neither he keep become cameo or someone do stuntman and cgi bruce campbell face like luke in mandalorian
I really enjoyed this one! **(SPOILERS AHEAD)** I wish the overall look and nature of the movie itself was a bit grittier. The Movie overall had kind of a glossy, polished look to it that took some getting used to. Kind of like how Dragonball Super looked vs Dragonballz from the 90s. The moments where there was CGI(especially for the blood and cuts on the characters) were very obvious to me and gave me kind of a "Night at The Museum, campy vibe to the initial setup) - The ONLY thing I'll say in relation to the previous movies is that I feel like the previous films used more special effects, and I think I prefer that approach more.
I thought most of it looked pretty good but the one standout in my mind is when the daughters nose/eyes/face started bleeding the blood looked pretty silly
Like I’ve said before, it’s a total blast - the cinematography is great, the callbacks to other elements of the franchise are nice, the acting is uniformly excellent, the gore is terrific, as is the Deadite habit of using uniquely specific awful insults to their prey. But I think I overhyped it myself, and I went into it thinking it was going to be scarier.
the only part i didn't understand was the demon wasn't strong enough to break down the door with just a little desk in front of it plus a little chain holding it closed when the little girl went to unlock the door..you know she could have broken that door down..
To be fair to Eric from 2013, he was a high school teacher. Presumably a history teacher. That doesn't explain why he decided to cut the barb wire or remove the plastic covering, but it does explain why he's curious about the book itself. To him, this is nothing more than creepy mythology. However, after that second coincidence where Mia boiled her face and he realized what was happening, he should've said something immediately instead of waiting until after he killed Olivia with the sink.
The actress who played the mother says she was inspired by Jim Carey in “the mask” which is equal parts awesome and terrifying SPOILER SPOILER Horror movies that ACTUALLY have kids in danger are the bravest horror movies which is more shocking than any of the gore
I have been looking forward to this video. Your 2 videos on the remake evil was amazing. Am looking to seeing this film on Monday. Your videos always cheer me up and make me laugh. Ur my favourite film reviews
I missed the first few minutes of the movie, I did see that title reveal though. Top to bottom I loved this movie, it did everything and more than I would have wanted. However I'm done with seeing hentai tentacle shit in these movies. It's a call-back that should have been left at the cabin. Other than that my biggest complaint, if you could call it a complaint. As the movie went along the less frightening it is. Tonally it's still more intense than the original movies. Plus it was just filmed so well that I found it too cool to be scary. 10/10 would see it again.
I just got back from seeing it. It was def creepy. The sister possessed did a great job for sure. I ain't gonna lie tho...I was DEAD 😅😅😅when the eyeball went into that guys mouth. I was also dead when the possessed sisters head was talking shit and the sister just kicked her head into the grinder. I have seen way too much horror. Lol. But fr go watch it! It was really good. I did think the 2013 version was way gorier BUT this one did an excellent job. I was expecting more from the cheese grater. I also feel like the trailer built it up in my mind and then it's like ohhhh kinda let down. BUT it was an excellent movie and I laughed at some stuff and jumped at other parts. The kids were the worst for me.i was scared for them. 9/10.
As a side note, I know they probably won't ever involve Ash, as they'd have to retcon some things and besides, Bruce said Ash is retired (sad face) but it'd be so cool to see the two final girls from this one and Mia from 2013 teaming up! Oh and huge props to the little girl actress, the amount of blood and gore she gets covered in, what a trooper!
Thing is every evil dead movie is canon they just all exist on different universes. So technically if they wanted to they can have Mia meet ash because of the necronomicon and it’ll make sense
This film was 👌🏻 one of the best to come out since the 2013 movie. Was it perfect - no but was it entertaining- hell yes!!!! It didn’t scare me but I smiled all the way through it. I loved it. Cannot wait for more as I think they are doing 2 more.
Love all the evil dead movies since I was a kid, to each as own I liked barbarian all though I can see why some people might get thrown off, smile was good to me at first I was like ehh but gave it a second try and got the concept of it. Smile 2 I'm a little iffy but still gonna check it out
Personally, I loved both Evil Dead 2013 and Evil Dead Rise and looked at them as two separate movies that existed in the same universe. I do believe that the books in both movies are two of the three books. However, I don't think that the original book from the Bruce Campbell Evil Dead trilogy is a third book. I think it is the same book as the one in Evil Dead 2013 just a different interpretation of it. Also the books in both the original and Evil Dead 2013 did the same thing with possessions and how to fight the possessed people. The Book of the Dead has almost never looked the same in any movie it's been in and the fact that a lot of key elements in Evil Dead 2013 was similar to the original movie (The cabin/cellar, the shed, the professor that found the book and Ash appearing that the end of the Rated version saying "Groovy") makes me believe the books is the same book that Ash found and most likely it found its way back to that cabin to cause more havoc. If I'm right that means that there's going to be a third movie that spotlights the third book and hopefully they might bring the survivors of each movie together in a fourth movie to fight the evil from all three books. Another thing I'm wondering about is what if each of the three Books of the Dead have a different function. The first one seemed to be purpose to rise a specific demon, while the second book was about making the possessed harder to get rid of. Nothing in the previous movie worked effectively on them. Fire just pissed them off burying them just made them dig their way back out and dismembering them just made them join together into one bod to continue attacking. Your only way out was to run or die. This makes me wonder what the third book's specialty is going to be. Maybe it has to do with the on thing that wasn't in the wasn't in past two movies that was in Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. Opening a portal to hell would make since as the focus for the third book to summon minor demons to mass possess people. That's just my own thoughts on it though. Enjoyed the review and until next time 👍👍✌✌ out.
Man...i know yall went easy cause he was a kid maybe but naw...Danny did it. Had it been the little sister then yeah but anybody old enough to wear a hoop earring and bleach their hair better know some. Thought he was gone be a lil tougher and fight more for the family but he released the demon and basically hid behind everyone else. Only difference between the 2016 story was he didnt read it out loud. But he had the same warnings in advance. He cut his hand on the teeth and opened it back up after the sister kept telling him to leave alone. He was basically playing turntables before he tried to turn the records off.
The OG movies lyk why the book do what it does but in the 1st ash play the recording on a tape player like Dan did on the Dj set but I fw Rises it was better than Megan& scream to me idk I guess ima ED fan I seen the movies & show
ahhahaa your review is amazing, and you just reminded me of that cat, omg where is it??? i doubt it is alive given that mia killed the dog on the 2013 remake i do get what u said about comparing it to the old ones, i did it during the first 30 mins but i dropped it cause i saw that i was starting to get distracted from what was happening - but i also appreciate stuff that reminded me of the old ones, when mother starts going crazy at the door while all the shit is happening inside the flat was so similar to when mia went crazy while her brother's gf was cutting her arm and it was WILD on this version.

The cast & Gore was good but 🤔 It seems to be aiming toward a female audience which most dont watch these type of movies. Liked👍 2013!
The actress who played Ellie really was the highlight of the movie, her eyes looked terrifying.
Oooh yes!! Good actor
Yeah I agree she is definitely the stand out player
She *killed* it !
@@GreenPawelito she certainly did
Mama's creepy voice manipulation, body language, and facial expressions were incredible. She killed this role. 🔥
7:34 The other priest yelling “its called the book of the dead for a reason!!!” had me crying 😂😂
wasn't that Bruce Campbell's voice cameo?
@@truthdetector4036 Yes. And according to the director, it's a time-displaced Ash.
When she says “I’m free now” and changes the tone so quickly. That gave me chills.
"From all you titty sucking parasites."

i really like that way of putting it. Really good way to put it because throughout the whole movie I was just like its hopeless for them.
Everything in that movie was ultimately insane. Hats off to the cast and crew behind this. 10/10
Ive been waiting for this video. They did an amazing job with Evil Dead Rise. Everybody involved was fantastic.
Me & my wife saw this last night, loved it, & I love how they made sure to let the audience know that all 5 of the movies & the show are connected with a single sentence.
9 out of 10, really enjoyed it! That scene in the hallway with the tenants and the mother seen through the peephole was great filmmaking!

Mia x Beth is something that i'm CRAVING!!!!! It would be awesome
Ash Williams ain't going to happen Bruce Campbell officially retired playing Ash but he will only return if it's animation
Well he said he’d be back only if Sam is directing so there is a liiiiiiittle hope even if it’s 10% possible lol
Doubt ash will return bruce campbell was too tired acting as that chainsaw guy. Neither he keep become cameo or someone do stuntman and cgi bruce campbell face like luke in mandalorian
Alright, been waiting to see the best YT reactors take on this one, just finished watching the Evil Dead 2013 Uncut episodes.

Yooo! CANT WAIT to see a watchalong "FULL-HOUSE" edition of this movie with Jamie ! I mean it's a family movie 😄😆🤣
The shooting eyeball into another persons’ mouth was a direct reference to EVIL DEAD 2 (1987).
Favorite movie of the year so far. REAL horror is back
This a joke right?? Cuz that shit sucked lmaoooo

The 1981 version would have.
I really enjoyed Evil Dead Rise. It was bloody and insanely good. I will suggest everyone go see this movie. ❤
I will never be able to use a cheese grater again
And stop someone from using record players

I got to watch it at a drive-in yesterday. It was a double feature with the original movie. I had a great time.
Just finished watching Evil Read Rise, and had to watch the spoiler aspect of this review. Good movie; a lot of fearful tension in this one.
Spiting eyeball was Recreated from classic scene in evil dead 2

Yes. The Grudge franchise has this as well
The movie did what I expected it to do definitely my favourite this year so far!
You guys are fucking hilarious. Thanks for the review lol I might end up sitting this one out.
I enjoyed the hell out of the movie. Favorite of mine no doubt
The cat went to Narnia 😂😂👏
This movie was just as scary as the 2013 version. I enjoyed the 2023 version just a bit more. 🔥😈
Best horror movie 🔥
Spot on review! I thought the movie was good. I wonder what will happen next 😂

I wonder jessica was doing throughout the whole night ? Lol I wonder what floor she was on when they were getting wrecked on their floor
Just saw it today guys. I liked it as well. Slightly different from the other ones but same gory concept. I give it a B+
2013 > 2023 but they're both good
This movie was more gory but wasn’t really scary. They don’t make scary movies how they used to anymore
This MOVIE WAS FIRE!!
something yall should know is Alyssa sutherland who played ellie was in the evil dead move 1981 version with ash its a fun fact
Y’all remember the boys who knocked on the door for the girl. There mom was working nights. I wonder what happened when she came back
Jason is Linked to the evil dead universe

Yeah this movie did have a great title reveal
It sits next to the 2013 movie for sure make a good horror night 2013 2023 well done 👍
I can't even imagine what unrated/extended version of the rise will look like 😂❤️
*Spoilers*
They killed kids in this. Wow. Throwing them around like ragdolls. 😂 I loved this movie.

Talkin bout you hope the demon is a animal lover 🤣🤣🤣 stop it we saw what happened to Grandpa in the last movie. 💀
My personal ranking is
Evil Dead 2
Evil Dead Rise
Army of Darkness
Evil Dead(2013)
The Evil Dead
I'm surprised they haven't done a review for the Super Mario Bros Movie.
One of the early studio cuts was like 2 hours long. So they cut quite a hit.
The shot of ellie creeping around the corner of the bathroom just smiling was so unnerving I audibly went "ehhh"
So I wonder what book did Jason vorhees mom had ?🤔🤔🤔
Have you seen Super Mario the movie?
I didn’t expect any of this in the movie… I never seen the evil dead rise series
Hype is real.
I already saw it this past Saturday it was crazy and it was a bloodbath but I enjoyed it at the same time amazing
THREE BOOKS. THREE BOOKS. Three books. AND THATS IT.
Keep making great content ☮️
BRUCE CAMPCBELL DID PRODUCE
Movie had big time cringe moments (in a good way). I fkin loved it
The cat survived because if it didn't, we definitely would have seen it as a deadite.
I can't wait to see it. I need it vicious as possible 👀👀👀👀🔥
Perfect timing I just got home from watching this.
Are you guys back in Philadelphia ?
The movie is lit but that kid really got me mad 😂 I was low key happy when she’s got him lol
Do you know when it will be released online ❤
These guys are keepin it real talkin about how grotesque this film is. Have seen a lot of people pretending it wasn't.
I will see this movie as soon as I can
If I'm gonna get bodied by a deadite I'd at least want it to be Alyssa Sutherland lol
Evil Dead 2013 >> Evil Dead Rise
This film was awesome
ok well i'm seeing it tomorrow so I'll be back to finish this vid then.
I watched today at cinema
Movie was awesome and I loved it
It was sooooo good!!
I WOULD HAVE BROKEN THE WHOLE THING LOL
Great movie shit was intense 😅😱
Yeah the kids in this movie got messed ip

This one is crap I though it was boring 2013 one was far better
Thank God they didn't call the dad! 🤔 The ladies handle things great! 🤷👍🙄
Evil Dead Rise is SO much better than Evil Dead 2013
I haven't seen it yet. Seems like the crappy 2013 one with no good jokes/humor. I have been a fan of Evil Dead since 80's too.
Bruh the 2013 version was really good. Your smoking crack
I mean, I liked Rise more, but the 2013 one wasn't "crappy" by any means
rise is definitely much better imo, sort of prefer the atmosphere and cinematography more than the 2013 evil dead.
why would a horror movie have humor in it it's way scarier without it
