Funny story, I found an absolutely SMASHED guitar with one string in a free pile, took it home, and repaired it entirely on my own. I'm now going to make the strap for it!
Great video as I've been considering making my own straps more and more. But it would be nice if there were links to were you could buy the carrier and buckle. Again great video and I'm sure I'll come back for reference.
At this step in the video you see how the hole is made to attach the strap to the guitar. The template is used as a guide to punch the hole at the correct position.
Hello Lori, the video might a bit confusing but there is only one long strap. We couldn’t show the whole strap so you can only see both ends. At one end you have already sewn on the leather piece. On the other you will now attach the second leather piece.
I'm in the US, so I'm not printing on A4 paper. The dotted line in the middle of piece B measures 6cm. I see that the measurements for the webbing, carrier, and buckle is 5cm. Should I scale the pattern down to get 5cm across the leather piece?
@@Mybernette Hello Kitty can't find that carrier and buckle. Where do you get yours at? I can't find one either not that size... And I am an avid sewer/ seamstress.
In Switzerland it is very easy to find these articles. Best is when you search online for carrier and buckles or when you ask in the shop where you normally buy your haberdashery. Shops that sell the webbing sell normally also these ones.
Beside the sewing machine, these are the following tools: Iron, Hole punch, Scissors, Rotary cutter, Ruler and Cutting mat, Utility knife, Wonder tape (double-sided adhesive tape), Fabric clips and pins. Happy sewing!
Dear Heidi, we are from Switzerland so we don’t know where you can buy it in your country. But this is a piece that is usually available in a haberdashery/handicraft shop. Very often you can find it also in online-stores as it is often used to make bags.
Hi PERKELE, yes you were right, when sitting it is not really needed. But this was in our film studio and not “under normal circumstances”. When playing a concert or in an audition it is easier with a strap.
You made it look like something that I can sew! What a great gift option for family musicians! Thank you so much!
cute
just got a guitar and forgot to get a strap lol. now I can make one at home with this amazing tutorial :) thank you!

Coud not catch what you did at 4:35...can you tell me?
At this step in the video you see how the hole is made to attach the strap to the guitar. The template is used as a guide to punch the hole at the correct position.
Amazing
Wonderful!!!!
That s was great thank you
Please mention which material you used with names please.
The material details are inserted at the beginning of the video (at second 6).
great!
Can you tell me the mm of the leather you used? Thank you!
Hi @sharonschmidt6464, we used a leather that is about 2mm thick and rather soft. If you use a stiffer leather, this can also be a little thinner.
Nice
I am very new to sewing....Im kinda confused at time 4.14. How are you doing that? IS that an extra strap laying next to you? Thanks

Yes, you can scale the pattern down to make it work for the carrier.
Hi fantastic video, love it 😍. But please can you tell me where or the make of the carrier and buckle as I can’t seem to find them.
Hello Kitty, we don't understand what you exactly mean. Can you describe your problem that we can help you?

Length of webbing you use?
Hi Susan, the length of the webbing used is 1.85 m. This is also stated in the video :)
Niice!
“Its easy”
Why do you need a guitar strap while sitting down?
Hi PERKELE,
yes you were right, when sitting it is not really needed. But this was in our film studio and not “under normal circumstances”. When playing a concert or in an audition it is easier with a strap.
