- Queen Camilla attends a reception at Marlborough House in London to mark Commonwealth Day. As a guest of the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Baroness Scotland, the Queen was welcomed with performances from some of the countries represented.

I was gonna say, THIS here, THIS is an elegant woman. This is an elder lady who is CLASS. Especially at her age, this is unmatched. Queen Camilla has nailed fashion the way no royal woman has for her age. It's easy to look great when one is young and tall. Camilla is neither, and she is SLAYING the fashion nation.
Camilla looks marvellous after her short vacation time off. So nice to see her doing all of these Royal duties. King Charles must be very proud of her and he is in good hands.

It is a shame that Commonwealth Day is never mentioned in Canada now. I seriously doubt if school students are made aware of it. Times have changed, and certainly not for the better.

I think the Royal Family is mistaken in slimming down the monarchy!! Princess Anne and Edward and Sophie are gracious and giving, but we never hear of their efforts. Now that there is some illness in the King and Catherine, we would love to see some of the official duties being done by the other Royals. It puts less pressure on those who could use the space to rest and recover. And, we genuinely like Anne and Edward and applaud their sense of duly and graciousness. Why are their efforts being hidden?
Not hearing about them is down to the media who only seem interested in scandals and drama. It has been that way for a long time unfortunately - and if it wasn't for social media and in particular UA-cam we wouldn't even KNOW that it was Commonwealth Day!

The fact is that they really were not suited and should never have gotten married. Actually, 1:09 she is Queen Consort as Queen Elisabeth decreed. As soon as she passed away, Charles 2:26 that would not do. He disregarded the Queen which speaks to his character. She was not born into the Royal Family so is not considered a Queen. She spent years getting in between Charles and Diana , and if SHE had character, she should have left them alone.
Camilla is still the Queen Consort. Just in speech and in writing she is referred to as Queen.
What a ridiculous comment. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother was not born into the royal family. In 1936 she became Queen Consort but she was always referred to as Queen Elizabeth. The current Queens of Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Jordan are all Queens Consort and everyone of them was born a commoner and each is always referred to in daily usage as Queen. Queens Consort and Queens Regnant are all Queens. Yes, Camilla is a Queen Consort just as all these others are and she is properly referred to as Queen. You just don't like her and think that calling her Queen Consort every time she is referred to somehow makes her less than every other Queen. The wife of King is a Queen, plain and simple. It has been that way for well over a thousand years and does not change just because of your resentment.

1. Queen Elizabeth didn't decree anything. She said she wanted Camilla to be known as queen consort probably as opposed to the ridiculous, nonexistent princess consort.
2. Charles didn't disregard his mother. Wives of kings have always been called the queen. Both him and his mom knew that.
3. Camilla isn't considered a queen because she wasn't born in to the Royal family?? I don't even know how to respond to that level of ignorance. Maybe someone else does.
4. Your sainted Diana got in between a few married couples and caused a few divorces. If SHE had any character, she would've left those married men alone. In calling the new queen Her Majesty The Queen (or informally, HM Queen Camilla), Elizabeth’s wishes have been precisely followed. In addition, Queen Elizabeth’s statement was only a blessing. It carried no force of law. Even if had she wanted to call Camilla “Mickey Mouse”, it wouldn’t have mattered. She had no power to determine titles for a future King’s wife. By law, the wife of the King is The Queen. It would take a literal act of Parliament to change it, and the agreement of all 14 realms would be required as well. Barring action by Parliament, it was inevitable that Camilla would one day become Queen from the moment Charles slipped the ring on her finger.
