The trench coat was a trend that followed me until the last year of highschool, thank god I never had enough money to buy one. Now I have an affinity for cool jackets in general
Trench coats are actually very practical though if you find a good military surplus one. I got one that has pockets for days and I use it when I go cold weather camping or urban exploring at it adds another layer of protection from things like rusty rebar, nails, and broken glass.
I once saw a guy strutting about my then-future high school wearing not only a trench coat, but a top hat with costume steampunk goggles. It was weird, but not as much as the other guy wearing full ww2, US army, combat attire.

Damn, Cy going with "as a veteran" seems so cringe. But come to think of it, turns out I prefer our polish standards where there is no "veterans" and "combat veterans", since in polish "weteran" means a combat veteran and if you didn't fought you're just an ex-soldier.

I have to say gloves are one of the biggest helps I’ve had playing airsoft. Not only for bbs to the hands but for not having to worry about grabbing rough wood structures and especially the wrecked cars some fields will have laying around. 25$ has probably saved me from tetanus
Dear lord jesus this man has never walked near a wetzel's pretzels/auntie anne's, may you some day be blessed with the wonderful smell of pretzely goodness.
First thing we were told in biology undergrad. This course is primarily to teach you how to engage with the subject, the details and knowledge you will be taught this first year will likely be 70% out of date by the time you finish your 3rd year. I still remember being taught 2 different ways of classifying the non fungi single celled organisms because which method was in fashion had less than a year turn around. Yeah, listen to grads for how you engage with the info, dont accept the info itself on face because they not only probably didnt score 100% on the tests at the time, nevermind years after when their memory fades or compounds their errors, what they were taught then may be wrong now, or at least, not the whole picture.
Depending on the ingredients use, yes pretzel have smell. Personal opinion, do not buy the salted ones, they taste like salted salt with sea water unlike the dry ones and the smell also stick to your mouth after you drink and washes your mouth with water.
I went to a small private college where my largest class was 60 people and the average class size at upper levels was 15. It made a huge difference to the quality of education, one I didn’t appreciate until I went to grad school at a state university. You can have conversations with the professor in a class of 15. You can spend classes digging down into the details. When there are 300 people in your class, the professor spends half their time getting the unmotivated students caught up, and you can go an entire year without talking directly to any of your professors.
Only issue I have is where Paul is talking about rubber necking after hearing gun shots. He says "There's no fire crackers, it 2 PM on a Tuesday". In the neighborhood I live in, and this is without exaggeration, not a day go by where I don't hear at least one firecracker/bottle rocket/firework go off.
Considering the Matrix franchise just had a botched revival in the form of a fourth movie that bombed hard in every aspect, and considering I have not once ever seen kids wearing trench coats in my ENTIRE school career, I’d say the trend died in the early 2000’s. The association of trench coats with school shootings in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s probably didn’t help much, either.
Hardest part of getting into anything really is understand wtf different terms means I did music as like one of my final subjects in school before leaving for uni i had to sit and repeat stuff our teacher told us to the others in my class because i was one of the 2 who actually understood what the terms meant
There was an anime guy in high school who did wear a long leather jacket. However, they didn't put their arms in the sleaves but instead had it sitting on their shoulders.
If anyone was to walk in one of my schools with a trench coat, they would by stopped by staff or security since we had a strick no trench coat rule because of school shootings. Saw a kid in my Jr high school get stopped by out on school officer before making it in the school. He was not allowed to enter even if he had no firearms.
