When you get time I would love to see a video on your sidearm. It’s so different than other golfers. You just seem WAY more athletic and smooth with your release.
Yeah I love watching his sidearms. I have a very similar form with an almost submarine release and also was a baseball pitcher for most of my life. I think the reason his form is so different is because he can naturally put so much more spin on the disc than the average player because he has the athletic pitching skills which are designed to put a lot of torque on the forearm/wrist through the pitching motion. All this extra spin requires much more stable discs and more dramatic hyzer angles which is why you often see him almost brushing the ground with his right arm. The cool thing about it is that you can get a lot more shot shapes than the average forehand player. Jake's late flip forehands are truly one of a kind in the disc golf world
I would like to say that black 2015 star destroyer is absolutely money. I have a few of them and they not only feel amazing in the sun, they fly so straight with that reliable fade. Super cool to see someone else throwing a relic like me lol
So impressed with how your game has developed and this round was really incredible to watch. What an accomplishment! Super excited to see you continue to grow your game. Also I'm very curious to see what you end up doing with your putting. Finding a comfortable stance and putting routine can instantly gain you many strokes, so I hope you have a fruitful journey there and aren't too hard on yourself.
I incorporate some of your style in my game. I grew up playing baseball and was always a side arm thrower. I also played outfield and the tomahawk throw is similar to an outfielder throwing home. This part of the game transferred quickly for me. You have the most interesting style out there. Keep that arm healthy!
Well done Jake! These round recaps are amazing! It’s impressive how you can remember every shot from your round and remember how you were feeling at the moment of the shot and explain the results of the shot.
Great video! I loved the quote at the end “in order to blow an opportunity you have to give yourself the opportunity first” … that really hit home! Find myself putting too much weight on the end result instead of highlighting the journey. As a new-ish forehand only I personally love when you talk about disc choice thoughts and what happens to an entropy when you overcook it. I felt like you did that really well. I would love to hear more about your thought process lining up a shot and why you choose a tomahawk vs roller vs power hyzer. I really liked when you talked about shot shapes like a late turnover forehand. Love the content man. Things are looking up. -from your fellow middle finger foam taped forehander.
These videos are awesome, I'll be watching every round you post on youtube. Adding the hole maps is great, would be really cool to see the disc / flight numbers for each shot added to the side as well.
Your mindset is elite, that weekend you set yourself up to have an opportunity. Had it been an elite series you would have finished in the top! You are playing great and you still haven't developed all of your tools. If I was the rest of the field I'd be scared of J. Wolff
Love the vids, Jake. Showing a champion's mindset with a one of a kind game. Excited to see the evolution of your game and this channel. Big potential all around.
No matter what, That was a great showing for you! You placed above your rating and fought through a lot of adversity! Keep it going! I would also love to see a video of how to do your forehand. I have been emulating it a lot lately with some super flippy discs and I can accredit that to now having at least a forehand that can count on. Keep it up!
Amazing round! Question, how do you keep your shoulder healthy all season? Any tips, I just had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. It's almost back to normal now, I just want to make sure it stays healthy.
These videos and Ricky's practice rounds are my favorite content now. Thanks for recording and uploading your rounds. I've watched your videos on Power DGA and would like to develop a 300-350' Tommy/Thumber getting it 40' in the air. Right now my Tomahawk gets to about 200' with 15' of height. It'll take time but I appreciate your coaching. Thanks Jake!
Love the content and the commentary as you talk us through what you were trying to accomplish with your throws. Only thing I can really think of is maybe use more Ace trace for the disc flight ?
Was super cool to see you shoot that hot round at new London on the leaderboard. What did you think of Wyatt? I'm from the same town as him so I was rooting for you two to get out of the B pool together
Keep it pushin' Jake! I freaking love watching you have success with such a unique play style. Having said that...(hear me out) - You are such a good athlete that I really think you should get serious about developing a backhand. It is WAY easier on your arm and with yr athleticism you'd be able throw freakin' bombs. I played baseball, softball, and ball golf for 3 decades. Then in my late 40's I caught the DG bug and got real serious about becoming good at it. So I TOTALLY understand the difficulty in having to learn how to generate rotational power completely opposite to the way my body had trained to do so for over 30 years. At 48 years old and after grinding throwing thousands of shots in a field over 18 months I now throw 400+ with accuracy. If my old, fat ass can do that, you will be able to throw as far, if not farther than the biggest arms on tour. With all the crazy tools you already have, adding a serious backhand would make you a very, very tough opponent to beat. Just a thought. Either way I wish you all the best!
Everyone talking about AB's jersey game, rightfully so, but we gotta throw this man's name in there too! 🔥 Great round brother! Love watching you play.
The confidence with rollers is insane. Man, it’s motivating to see this style successful at this level. God bless and keep it up bro
Not too hard if you know yr discs and practice fh rollers a lot, mate.

Super entertaining to watch. Thanks for the video!
This is awesome. Having the follow flight makes it super interesting. I'll definitely check out your other rounds.
Playing the game like no one ever has at this level is insane. Your angle control is top notch. Can’t wait to see you next season bro!
This round is so amazing

Top 3 favorite disc golfer, if not favorite. Keep it up man that world championship comes soon
Would love to see a forehand tutorial. Your forehand looks more unique than a lot of guys

Imagine if he had a backhand.
