UNMISS Force Commander assesses the security and humanitarian situation in Renk

Renk has always been a bustling border town as the main route for trade between Sudan and South Sudan. It has now become a sanctuary for hundreds of thousands of people fleeing the fighting in Sudan. Alongside humanitarian workers, 100 peacekeepers from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan are working hard to provide protection and keep the peace.
