22:43 Hey, that's my iPhone holder that Hooney used to show off their printer. I'll bet they didn't attribute. And they're using it in a way that it wasn't designed because it was made for an old iPhone, and their new phones are too big. Hilarious.
Pretty sure I saw some of Dutchmogul's prints on the Aladan box as well. And not just his models, pictures of his prints. That there is copyright infringement. One day I'm going to make a lawyer friend and figure out how to make a living suing people who do this sort of thing.
I would probably be most interested in seeing a review of that last one. I think that it is mostly because I want to see if it actually exists outside of renders. Also, I personally liked having lady muse on for this one. You guys have good chemistry on camera IMO and I am very much down for a reappearance.
Always like the casual 'chattiness' of this review, with the addition of a 'co-presenter'. Hey, that's the ticket... you two could become the Top Gear of 3D Printing! ;-D
On second look, it does look like it could work in the ideal case, since both screws are secured at the top, and the right is secured at both ends (and assuming that the smooth rods and leadscrews are all straight, but that's a shipping problem, not a design issue). Without actually trying this, I'm assuming there'd be a bit of lag in the right side from the elasticity of the belt that'd cause some first-layer issues for sequential prints. One of these days I ought to just get a pile of extra parts to test things like this.
@@ghostman982 LMFAO. my bad. you are right! well we wouldnt want to take picture of a used printer, just grab that model and put it on the bed! lmfao. good eye bro!
I'm with your wife on this: buttons are better. buttons mean you can put a tarp over the buttons and still operate the machine if you run it in a workshop where sawdust and metal shavings are a common problem. you can still use it with gloves on if you also are doing things with SLA or DLP printers. both of those things I have done before which is specifically why I have not upgraded to a touchscreen on my FDM printer, despite one being a very cheap drop in replacement. I suppose if its your only 3D printer and you use it in an office thats not that big a deal but mine is in my workshop, and being able to control it through a plastic tarp covering the surface or with gloves on is a must
Hey angus, do you think we could get an update on this video? Ide love to see some newer odd balls! Love all your work and this is probably the 2nd or 3rd time ive watched this video over the last few years.

I dig the format with both of you making comical remarks as it goes along. Maybe the thumbs down votes reflect the angst of being single, anyways, do things your own way as a team I say, using a Canadian accent. That was strange to see a printer with a motor noticeably in close proximity to the print nozzle, and yet the motor was not above the nozzle level. That one was apparently designed by someone challenged by the effects of overmedication, who was determined to try to break the laws of physics, at the same time. And Disney seems to see themselves as being ok with trying to invent the sky, though always always limited to working in a pretend cartoon environment, and enjoys their use of lawyers. Dreadful pity. Just printed a Ford Triton sign for a neighbors garage taking advantage of the build volume of a Cr-10 S5, because I'm nice. Keep on rocking in a 3d world!
I want to think downvotes are for the fact that there are no faces in the video. It's all about that eye contact, and ad least showing something physical - not just browsing websites. I don't think Angus was thinking about replacing his main content with this... I'd certainly like a few non serious videos once I a while, perhaps in live stream format.

I thought that was funny. More lady muse. I don't think it was ever meant to be a serious review, just a bit of fun. I vote for the transformer looking one.
You don't want rotating printing surfaces. It doesn't work. Take Sculpto as an example, it can't print anything reliably thats bigger than about a third of the beds diameter and doesn't have pretty much infill only at the rotation axis. The fact that there's a rotation axis in the middle of the bed makes it pretty much impossible to print anything that looks good anywhere near the center of the printer. The only thing it can do well are rotation bodies, but even that doesn't work, because you can't slice for yourself and have to rely on the web interface slicer, which puts everything on the very edge of the print surface. This is absolutely necessary for everyhing with a single straight line, but it prevents it from printing bigger rotational bodies well, which would be the only thing it could do decently. Also, it's absolutely overpriced for it's shitty quality.
Fun video Angus and LM! Please poke at Hoony H6. I'd be interested to see how they managed to break laws of physics and NOT destroy the heatbed with every single print!
Hilarious! I enjoyed the banter provided by Lady Muse. I'm curious. Have you ever seen a 3d printer consisting of merely a robotic arm with an extruder and nozzle. Could it work on more than 3 axes?
Kevin Walker Yes there is one just like that. Yet, it prints real slow, and the price will empty the wallet, real fast. It has a few robotic arm attachments that can be changed out easily, and it looks like a a well built arm, though not built well enough to match the speed of any other printer. The concept seems more practical for printing cement, and could involve telescoping segments to its design.
The issue is that design is severely cantilevered and you get a lot of weird distortions and resonances. I've done a lot of analysis with my own prototypes.

I do know of some mods for CR10 style single lead screw printers that use belts to sync a second lead screw though
