- Watch the official "Porsha Sings Girl on Fire" clip from Sing 2! In theaters December 22, 2021.
This time Koala Buster Moon wants to present the most extravagant and dazzling stage show ever seen. But big dreams and spectacular hits also call for a bigger stage than the Moon Theater. The Crystal Tower Theater in the glamorous big city would be perfect - but there's one small problem. Actually, three. First, Buster Moon, mother pig Rosita, rocker porcupine Ash, elephant Meena, gorilla Johnny and pop provocateur, pig Gunter, must somehow make it to the office of music mogul Jimmy Crystal and convince the unscrupulous wolf to let them use his theater. It's a hopeless endeavor until Gunter spontaneously promises him the scoop: rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono) will return to the stage for this show! The problem: Buster has never met Clay, a lion who has retired from show business! While Moon's all-star ensemble works to put on the spectacular show, the koala sets out to find Clay. What begins as a dream of great success becomes an emotional reminder of the healing power of music.

It's hard to make a spoiled kid likable but man DO I LOVE HER.
I get the feeling from this clip and others she is neglected spoiled. In that, her dad gives her what she wants, but not any attention or affection.
As she seems to be more on the Sing crews side at the films end more than her father.

I like how they built her character, she was spoiled, can’t act but has an amazing voice. She owns up to her mistake and apologizes for overreacting and helps Moon with the show going against her dads orders. There really is great potential in this character

Porsha is such an adorable character, wolves have always been one of my favourite animals, and she has an amazing singing voice, she may seem spoiled there but judging from the latest trailer I saw, she seems to become friends with Buster Moon, possibly a sign of character development, just a hunch.

But still Porsche maybe raised spoiled but I believe there’s more to her than we give her credit. Plus her voice is what got me started on the song “This girl is on fire”
As for her father on the other hand… I think she has daddy issues and wants her father to truly notice her, if you know what I mean.

I like how Jerry applauds after witnessing Porsha sing, “Girl on Fire” and Jimmy takes slight appreciation towards it but Suki while impressed over it makes a slight head shake no over it for an unknown reason and resumes her work.

She’s gonna be my favorite character in the sequel. I have no doubt she’ll develop into a team player as it plays out.
Coming from someone who just saw the film, she alongside the other newcomers Jimmy, Alfonso, and Clay were all great.

I too loved her rendition of “Could’ve been me”, as I felt it fit her situation as well.
She needed to get away from her father, as he was a horrible influence to her.
Especially a few scenes ago when he verbally and emotionally abused her when she was already visibly upset over being “fired” by saying “would you be quiet, you’ve embarrassed me enough” as well as “now the whole world thinks I have a talentless loser for a daughter”. My jaw dropped in the theatre when that part came up.
And for the scene of her crying in bed afterwards, I feel it wasn’t just from being “fired”, but from her dad’s abusive talk.

I love all the little attentions to detail this series put into the sets/characters. Like how the volume of her singing seems to increase/decrease with how close or far she is in relation to the "camera" we are viewing the show through. Or the slight gesture of her readjusting her tail to make sure she doesn't sit on it.

seriously is nobody questioning how she magically makes the cord go higher or lower entirety dependant on her will? like you cant even say its bc of distance, bc theres one part where she sways up from the exact same pivotal point before magically redirecting her trajectory
bruh its a cartoon where talking animals in their own talking animal world are putting on a musical show........there are a million unrealistic things to look past, we don't care that the stage actions don't make sense with physics.
Counterbalance wire work my good man, Cirque du soleil uses it quite a bit. Of course this is an exagerated depiction because its a cartoon, but having had the privilege of watching some wire work/Cirque du soleil stage rehearsals, I can tell you some very talented performers can literally "fly" on these setups.

I was a little antsy at first, given that this is Halsey’s first acting credit; but they totally nailed it.

they are really great singer but I think a lot of people jumped on a hate train about her in 2016, some of those people still tend to hate on them, most non-Halsey fans just think it’s cool to still dislike her and don’t actually listen to their music, they’ve had multiple albums out and live performances in which people can hear her, so at this point it’s just actually taking the time to hear her and not listening to other people, judge for yourself.
I have already seen the film(I went to an early screening for it late last month, and it really was such an awesome experience), and I really adore Porsha so much as a character.
She is admittedly very spoiled and occasionally rude to others, but she is also very sweet, has a very happy and free spirited personality, and is very talented and passionate as well. And Halsey's cover of Girl on Fire is also just wonderful too. I really hope that we get to hear a version where she sings the entire song!
