The etruscian culture was just the basement were Rome has risen off,it is not compareable because it is a different culture,it is as to compare germans with austrians if you know what i mean. The only thing to mention is that the Romans got their knowledge about agriculture from said etruscians so they did had no need to "copy" it from the carthagenians. So,it is quite sure to say that Rome brought a whole lot of civilisation to other countries. For example,our whole system of justice is based on Roman laws. The fact that you can use fresh water from your water tap has its beginnings by the Romans...the Aquaeduct was the prime example for it. Should i go on? @@Dakka1968 Dude the Romans copied everyone and even copied everyones gods in their own relegion as minor gods. They did that so it was easier for small tribes and villages to be part of the empire. That is how they ended up so big. They took what was usefull and used it on others to wage wars, build relations, to govern and for relegion. That is why they could grow to that size and be able to function some what normally.

The main reason guys is that roman citizens were less and less wanting to fight in the armed forces and they counted on auxiliary units composed of "barbarians". Then when they controlled the military they took power.
not the soldiers though. Even to the days of byzantine, the Byzantine army remains the most disciplined army in Europe until it again got devoured by plague and barbarians (i.e. crusaders to the west and turks to the east)

I think I understand now. You used a city like Rome with walls and had a small enemy force outside the gates without archers, onagers, ram, or seige towers and pretty much did a march throughout the city as such. Right?
Haha yes, I did this a while ago when I was bored. It was not easy trying to do it on my own. I was thinking of re-doing this, with new unit models and better quality. But I am not sure yet. But you pretty much hit it on the money.
Would be nice if there was some diversity in troops, not everyone wore segmentata, most legionaires wore lorica hamata even in the period of the 5 good emperors which is 300 years after the starting timeline of rome total war 2.

Their methods of carrying their equipment isn't accurately depicted in this: they'd be holding a pole with a small crossbeam to hold up their pack in the same hand as they'd have their shield grasped in or on the same arm, and a Pilum, a type of spear that was specifically Roman in design, in their right hand, with their Gladius, their short sword, in their sheath near their hip on the belt for quick withdraw and fighting. It's not you that did that in all likelihood, but the computer system that was inaccurate.

You can do a March without battle in the campain? Any mod to do it? Like a mod that let you start a battle without enemies and do the march
just start a battle with an overwhelming force against a very small enemy and they'll never attack.
Later on they will be 2x smaller and leaded to battle by a bald guy
