Thanks. Really good to see the great results you can get from the X100V. As someone who owns the camera but doesn't use it for portraits per se its really inspiring to see what can be achieved. look forward to see more content on how you use the camera in the future.
Thanks Peter! The X100v really is a fantastic camera. If you ever do end up taking portraits with it, I’d love to see them! I’m also looking to see what I can do with the camera for video since I know people don’t really use it for that purpose.
Great job man. Very well produced video and helpful content. Please make more! Also it's refreshing to have sample pictures that are actually really good. Most reviewers out there are really bad photographers...
Awesome video, excited to get mine. Cool to see someone getting 12k views on their first video haha. I’ve been wanting to do gear review and photography focused videos for a while now
Congrats on a new video, Charles. I normally do not comment on youtube but I thought I would just support a fellow photographer who started his new channel. I really enjoyed your video and I am already looking forward to another one. Greetings from the capital of Denmark - Copenhagen! P.S.I am buying X100V next month as well!
Thanks Jeffrey! No, they weren't double exposures but It does look like it. Everything was done in camera with no photoshop or anything like that needed. You're not the first person to ask about it and I'm definitely planning on doing a video on how to do it!
Hey Charles, great video and even greater shots! I am still on the edge getting this little baby next to my X-S10... However, liked, commented and subscribed ;-) Cheers from Germany, Kamil
It’s a nice camera and pricey too . I’m thinking about picking up a used one . I shoot Nikon and use a Z6II, so I don’t want to get into a new system. However, just like you, I like the fixed lens and not having to get new lenses. Overall , I like the camera , I’m just not that thrilled with the shutter sound . It reminds me of an iPhone shone shutter sound , kind of cheap . Maybe I can get used to the sound . Thanks for sharing !
it's definitely pricey, and I would recommend buying it used if you're able to find one. But if I had to pay for it in full, I actually think it's worth it after seeing how often and how much I enjoy using it. I love it so much that it's actually making me think about getting into the fuji system so beware haha! As far as the shutter sound, you can actually turn it off if it bothers you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
thanks Younes! Means a lot to me. I would love to get my hands on a Ricoh GRiii again to make a comparision one day. In the meantime, check out Luis Chavez on UA-cam. He did a great video giving his thoughts on the X100V, Ricoh GRiii, and the Leica Q2.
Sorry for the super late response! Not sure if you already decided haha. But I would’ve probably gone with the XT30. I’d prefer having the option to change lenses if I only had one camera body.
I got it from amazon. www.amazon.com/Haoge-LH-X54W-Square-Adapter-Fujifilm/dp/B08B564LFZ/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Fujifilm+x100v+lens+hood&qid=1616085495&sr=8-3
@@CharlesLopez does it sit lined up properly if you add a UV filter? I saw a few review of this hood and the general quirk was it doesn't line properly if you add a UV filter
@@safal42 mine does. It might depend on the filter that you have. I don't have a UV filter but I do have a tiffen black pro mist that fits great. Easy to put on and take out. The only problem that everyone talked about was getting a vignette when using a flash.
thanks for the sub! Just subscribed to yours as well. I don't really have any complaints with the X100V besides sometimes wishing it was 28mm. I purposely haven't tried any leicas cause I don't wanna get tempted haha.
@@peterabbott3438 I definitely want to try that someday but the extra length that it adds to the camera is really unappealing to me. But I could see myself using it for specific situations.
Thanks for all the love! Let me know if there's anything specific you want to know more about this camera :)
Let us know how you still feel about it in a long-term review later. I’ve read about some issues and am curious if you run into them. Cheers.
I'll definitely do a long term review in the future. What were some of the issues that some people ran into?
@@CharlesLopez Overheating in warmer climates, and scratchy/rough focus ring are the two I remember.
Great video. I just got a x100v and am very much a beginner. Thank you for the inspiration.

@@CharlesLopez you made some good points!
Loved it even more since the update! ND filter on video massive for a small Camera 🥰
It’s pretty crazy how they were able to do that in such a small camera haha. I haven’t tried video yet with the x100V but plan to soon!
Mind sharing if / how you modified the Eterna profile in camera for the JPG?
hey Patrick! I included the settings I used for the Eterna profile in the description. If that didn't answer your question, let me know!
Thanks for sharing.. Nice pics. Very artistic... Subscribed !

Love the cute features on this camera 😍
Cute features come at a cost 😂
Wait I just got this comment LOL. I wonder who else caught that 😂
great info! i too am a wedding videographer looking at fuji for an everyday carry :)
0 regrets with the fujifilm x100v! I’d buy it again if something ever happened to mine lol
Great video! That's a feature filled camera. I'm a Sony guy myself and also want to try other brands without having to invest in more lenses
Thanks Francis! I have zero regrets buying the camera and would 100% recommend!
Cleannnn bro 😤😤
thanks bro!
Tutorial on how you shot the photos that made a double image of the model. (Hope that made sense)
Yup, I know exactly what you're referring to. I'll definitely add it to the list of videos I'm planning on doing. Thanks for commenting!
what a lovey video! thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Can you take a RAW image and then later apply the different film simulations in post? (in LightRoom)
Yes, I believe so. If I remember correctly, I did that in Lightroom Classic.
That’s my uncle 👏
thanks nephew!
I’m looking to buy my first Fujifilm camera. Would you recommend this as a first camera to someone who isn’t a pro? Or should I go for the XT30?

Much wow
thanks for the support!
can you shoot in JPEG and RAW at the same time?
Yup! I prefer to shoot that way to have options in case I want more flexibility with raw.
