I remember in the future when I will used to always visit myself in the past, it will always used to seem strange to me/him how we will have gotten along so well back then/now in the future. He/I seem to be a pretty swell guy.
Good reader. Living in the future as I do, I love to see how old time writers imagined the future; but, most particularly what they see as unchangeable from their time. No one expected the transistor or computers, pocket-sized that even children use. In this story, it’s the “desk phone”. Big old clunky desk phones….
@@elacross3898 I put that expensive coffee at the feet of starbuck’s. When they started, coffee was still pretty cheap but they convinced consumers that their high-priced coffee was better. Remarkable. I even remember when a cup of coffee was ten cents (sigh) but, then, I’m old.
Hmmm... it begs the question, If you're me, what number am I thinking of?! Thanks again, I am so surprised that before your channel, I never knew of Lester Del Rey. Be excellent to each other Dudes! ⏱⏲⏰🕰📟
Loved the splintered POV work in the writing. Very effective for a time travel story.
Del Rey managed to make it so smooth and immersive. What a great author he was.
Ahh, Lester del Rey... It's like meeting an old friend back from the 70s

In fifty years time I wonder what people will look back and enjoy noticing about our current perspectives.
I’m always amused by the price of things in otr. One story had coffee as 50¢ in the future never could they imagine a cup costing $5
