I had an Indiana state trooper begin escalating towards me. I drive a tractor trailer and was running with traffic, we were all going fast since it was just before Thanksgiving. He came hauling ass off the shoulder and came straight towards me. He issued a written warning since he knows I’m unable to fight those, I requested a citation and that’s where he got pissed. Wrong. The biker got caught, likely speeding. The cop recognized him as the same guy who ran from him a week ago, so he asked him how long he had the bike. The biker lied and said he just got it. The cop then called him on it by asking for the bill of sale. When you first get a car or bike, you often keep the bill of sale on you until the new registration comes through. He didn't have the bill of sale. Also, the vin came back and showed that he absolutely didn't buy the bike last week. The biker is a liar, and the cop did nothing wrong but catch him in multiple lies.
Imagine not understanding how police officers work, they literally have an area and most likely oftentimes it is the community that live in. I had an Indiana state trooper begin escalating towards me. I drive a tractor trailer and was running with traffic, we were all going fast since it was just before Thanksgiving. He came hauling ass off the shoulder and came straight towards me. He issued a written warning since he knows I’m unable to fight those, I requested a citation and that’s where he got pissed. That’s when I lost a lot of trust in law enforcement

Not that I had much respect for them left after years of what these cops are like nowadays but my respect for them went into the negative digits when several days before Christmas of 2020 my son was murdered by a violent criminal who 2 days before had stabbed his own 9 week pregnant girlfriend in the abdomen yet was still on the lose despite her telling the police that night where they could find him, just 2 miles down the road from where they were at and did they even bother to go and look? Wrong. The biker got caught, likely speeding. The cop recognized him as the same guy who ran from him a week ago, so he asked him how long he had the bike. The biker lied and said he just got it. The cop then called him on it by asking for the bill of sale. When you first get a car or bike, you often keep the bill of sale on you until the new registration comes through. He didn't have the bill of sale. Also, the vin came back and showed that he absolutely didn't buy the bike last week. The biker is a liar, and the cop did nothing wrong but catch him in multiple lies.

I think it should apply in cases where they acted within the law. Example being someone that just committed a violent crime that the cop witnessed runs, the cop chases the criminal down, tackles them, causing injury. This is what qualified immunity is for. But violating people's right should not be included

The VIN came back in his name, or he would have been jacked for possessing a stolen vehicle since he had zero proof it was his.
