I'm always the only goalie stretching off ice before trainings and games, and when I see the others flares, It confort me into the tought that I'm never quitting this habit :) Thanks maria for all your routines !
Thank you 😊. I don't really think of it as a 'game day' thing. It should be something you do consistently at least 4 times per week to get the long term adaptations. I would do a good off-ice dynamic warm up before the game, but keep this as a mobility routine that you do consistently throughout the week. Does that help?
Consistency is the key - just be gentle with them and it will improve over time. Glad you like the hat. I don't sell any swag, just use it to send appreciation to the goalies in my programs as a treat!
if you have less than 90 degrees and it does not improve even when you do the right mobility work to improve it, then you should consider getting an assessment to see why - could just be the way you are made.
It can definitely happen - there was a study looking at NHL players (not specifically goalies) and something like 60+% had radiographic evidence of FAI and something like 80% of those players had no pain.
Hi there, I'm a little confused about what you say at 8:00. You say to push your foot into the wall. However in this older video you say to rotate your foot AWAY from the wall: ua-cam.com/video/zSzl1buW0_s/v-deo.html Which one should we be doing? Both? Thanks for your help! :)

Amazing what happens when you consistently work on the right things. Keep up the good work!
Dude, same!
I don't know how others get away without it!
@@jeffw3092 it's simple... they just blame their D for all the goals against 🤣
Another instant classic. The videos just keep getting better. Your toes made my morning awesome. Thanks ❤
Glad you like it - I appreciate the encouragement (and so do my toes).
Thank you for this! As a mid 20's just starting goalie, these videos help tremendously!
Amazing! Welcome to the Goalie Union!
Thank you!
You are welcome.
As always, nice and clear instructions. Do you recommend this on a game day?
Good question.
Thank you 😊.

@goalietraining Yes thank you. I already do your dynamic warmup for pre-game!!
@@mtlgoalie62 Exactly what to do; you've got it dialed in!

If 90 degrees is normal what would be considered limited range of motion where we should consider seeking in person help?

@@goalietraining thanks Maria! Next time I’ll tell my parents to make me into a goalie .. :)

15 inch ankle to ankle before, 19 inch after!
That's crazy eh? Good work!
Maria, is it common for goalies with a hip impingement to have 0% pain on the ice? No blocking, pinching, or pain at all? Thanks.

Two different techniques. This is using a Contract-Relax technique, the other video is FRC PAILS/RAILS.
@@goalietraining Ok thanks! So I suppose both exercises should be performed?
@@mattm1982 You can use both in your toolbox, but you would not use both in the same mobility routine
@@goalietraining ok thanks!

Hey Maria, I’m in the process of setting up a home gym for my teenage goalie. Where did you get the turf that is featured in your videos? Thanks.
I ordered it from Rona.ca and it got delivered to my house.
Do you have a splits program?
Yes I do. It is only for goalies over 14 years of age - how old are you right now?
