I would love to attend Crispin's lectures. He's so passionate about what he does and it shows when he speaks. And how he explains himself is so clear. It's so interesting!
This is probably my eighth time watching this video in the past month. I just can't get enough of Crispin Freeman and his voice. And the topics were very interesting; mythology and vampire lore are two of my favorite things in the world.
This was such an interesting discussion! I had no idea Crispin was interested in mythology and he does a great job articulating his ideas and observations in the subject. I'm definitely going to keep an eye open for his next lecture.
There are very few true intellectuals and scholars of whom I am aware. This man is one of them, and for that I am eternally grateful. As an aspiring writer, voice actor, and a general consumer of all modes of entertainment, I have learned more than I ever could on my own. And kudos to you, Mr. Bagnell, you were very enjoyable and engaging to hear as well.
Second time I'm watching this, and what's great about looking back into many of Crispin's videos is that there always seems to be more things you learned despite watching it before.
This was brilliant. I have to say not a moment wasted watching this. I enjoyed it tremendously, and it is great to hear Crispin talk more about Mythology and all that jazz that one can rarely see on panels on youtube. If I lived in the states I would attend his classes. Pretty much nailed it about what was odd for me about Harry Potter and Battlestar, I questioned a lot of things in both these shows, more HP however. Once again, I thank you uploading. Very enjoyable. ^.^
I love listening to intellectuals just talk casually about their favourite things. Actually I could listen to Crispin Freeman talk about teacups for two and a half hours and not get bored.
I think what crispin missed is the direct parallels that narnia has with our own world. True, you don't exactly see narnia and the real world mixing that much. But there is a whole layer of parallels that were missed by both the host and crispin freeman. The religious/moral parallels are astounding. Like the parallel between the fate of Charn and the fate of the real world, and the threat of nuclear war and how Jadis utters "The Deplorable Word" and destroys all life. So much meaning!
i didn't know how old crispin was I loved his character hagi in blood and I have some of the games hes done the voices for but I never new he was older in my opinion he looks really young ! ! !
Here's a thought, Crispin mentions that Meyer's whatsits are fay (I find it really hard to call them vampires, I'm a devotee of White Wolf's vampires). In Scottish myth there's the baobhan sith (baavan she), female fairies that feed on human blood. There are differences, like the modern vampire the baobhan sith can't deal with sunlight; but hey, it's curious, no?
fun fact, in Irish folklore, there are vampire like fay. One is the Lean-shide (forgive my crappy spelling) which lives behind a water fall, offers an artist or poet a time of brilliance and success in exchange for blood. The other is the Bouban Sithe, which is a cat like vampire lesbian lady.
@laevomachine Crispin has this beautiful way of articulating and expressing what would be otherwise just a vague feeling. It's fantastic to watch. Thanks for checking it out!
"Twinkly vampires." XD Ah, Crispin. The way he talked about Twilight made me laugh. Alucard for the win! ^_^ Oh, and I love the Narnia books. (Not so much the last three, but I think it's still an amazing series.) And the Harry Potter books.
Hold up. He not only compared Edward to fairy, but he called him the KING of the fairies??? I know people that would be massively miffed at that. lol. myself possibly included >.>
Hey! You can find it on our old show site - got to MYMHM [dot] TV and search for "why can't we let zombies evolve. This is maybe one of my all time favorite things I've ever written.
That is why I don't connect with people who call themselves otaku or weeboo anymore. Too many times I have to deal with people my age or older (I'm 22) that act like 7 year olds at recess. Not that they don't have a right to, I just don't connect with that. I hope that Crispin can do something where people interested in going to his lectures can get information as to when and where they are. I want to take notes from him for some of my personal projects I'm working on that aren't anime mixes.
Can somebody confirm this for me, I herd once that George Romero said the zombies in his films were basically reanimated corpses due to a meteorite that flew passed Earth and cosmic radiation rained down over the Earth and caused the death to come back to life, if that's true that's gotta be the most original Idea I've ever herd for a zombie movie
Heads up, I may be commenting this frequently the longer this video continues as new ideas come to mind that I'm just recently thinking. I apologize ahead of time if this may seem annoying.
It's actually kind of counter productive for a female book writer to lie and say she's a male, when people eventually find out it's actually a girl that just draws more attention then it would have it she had just told the truth from the start....
Probably not if you're using the classical definition of "Faerie" which he is here. Originally they were powerful human-like beings, magical, possibly demonic, demoted angels, changelings, or un-dead. The "vampires" in Twilight better resemble this classic definition of the fae than they do ANY version of the vampire myth. It's less an insult to say Edward is a fairy than it is a clarification for literary accuracy.
Nice theory about Nosferatu movie,Mr.Freeman, but its fake. When you said that the vampire was walking during the daylight without any effects you must know that all night sequences were filmed during the day. There were no CGI effects in 1922. You possibly misunderstood the way HOW the movie was recorded. All night sequences were filmed DURING THE DAYTIME. Count Orlok did NOT die when he was feeding on that girl,he died because the sun was rising and he was hit by the daylight. That means before he fed on that girl, there was still night time.
um, could he um...could Crispin get his teaching credentials so that i can possibly pay through the nose, with an arm and leg included, so i can listen to him and if i were to say, fall asleep in class, osmosisly learn via Shizuo Heiwajima everything he has to teach? um...maybe....please....i'm not begging but....it's a thought >.>
Sue me. I wanted Crispin to know he wasn't dealing with a professional host. For a man that's been professionally interviewed as much as he has, he thought it was amusing.
Seriously why does this have so few views or likes? I suppose that it's because Crispin isn't being used a human jukebox and spouting off random lines instead of having an intriguing and intelligent conversation for once. I love anime fans, but many of them can be too childish for my taste.
I google Crispin vids just to hear him talk. I love his voice.
I don't disagree, such a beautiful voice.
Literally gives me chills. Especially when he's doing Alucard from Hellsing.
Hell yeah.
I would love to attend Crispin's lectures. He's so passionate about what he does and it shows when he speaks. And how he explains himself is so clear. It's so interesting!
I love Crispin Freeman's voice
Crispin Freeman is so adorable in this interview! If he wasn't married, I would want him to be my eternal life partner! ^.^
I wish I could like this comment 200 more times... I couldn't agree with you more!
I won't get bored listening to conversations about mythology. Ever!

I'm a French wine drink me or not - Crispin Freeman 10:32 That was sooo cute! He speaks with such passion! I would totally attend a lecture!
Knew there was a reason I loved this man. Boom.
Crispin freeman this man has my heart loves anime, vocie acts alucard, and loves mytholigy. Not only that he is hot!
Second time I'm watching this, and what's great about looking back into many of Crispin's videos is that there always seems to be more things you learned despite watching it before.

I can't wait to be in one of his lectures some day.
Fantastic. Came across this after having read Patient Zero - how appropriate! Great discussion. Thanks so much for uploading!
@GamerSam13 I was so lucky to get the opportunity to speak with him. Crispin really is a class act.
Crispin is awesome. I like his presenentations. He gives to the movie industry more sense. Good work, man.

@Sajirah I'm baffled too! Not like my channel is super popular or anything, but Crispin is fantastic to listen to and learn from.
I just love this man.
Such a great resource :) There are so few videos of Crispin talking about his lectures instead of just anime.
i didn't know how old crispin was I loved his character hagi in blood and I have some of the games hes done the voices for but I never new he was older in my opinion he looks really young ! ! !

Crispin is so pretty. cx
He also has great insight.
@laevomachine Crispin has this beautiful way of articulating and expressing what would be otherwise just a vague feeling. It's fantastic to watch. Thanks for checking it out!
And you KNOW it would be the most informed discussion of teacups you would EVER hear!
Crispin has such beautiful hands and the most wonderful eyes
Loved listening to this!

@ONVPodcast You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
I LOVE YOU CRISPIN
Boy, i wonder what they would of said about warm bodies xD
@FromNowheresville Thanks! Appreciate it. And I completely agree, Crispin is pretty rad.
"Twinkly vampires." XD Ah, Crispin. The way he talked about Twilight made me laugh. Alucard for the win! ^_^ Oh, and I love the Narnia books. (Not so much the last three, but I think it's still an amazing series.) And the Harry Potter books.
@OkamiKasai Oh man! Patient Zero was a super fun pulp novel! Hard hitting cop drama in the middle of an outbreak. Effing rad.
Check out his site. He teaches all KINDS of classes and workshops.
@hellsingevil1 glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to shoot!
Hold up. He not only compared Edward to fairy, but he called him the KING of the fairies??? I know people that would be massively miffed at that. lol.
myself possibly included >.>
OMG he mentioned the Diskworld!!!
Keep going mate. I'm Irish and I want to know more about this.
I'm not sure if you say so in the video, so sorry if you did, but I really wanna know how do I find your Article on zombies?
4:12-4:17 but Crispin you aren't gilgamesh, you're his master
Indeed.
No worries at all. I enjoy a good live blog.

I wonder if protego would be powerful enough to stop bullets...
I'm beginning to wonder what Alucard might think of James Bond.
That is why I don't connect with people who call themselves otaku or weeboo anymore. Too many times I have to deal with people my age or older (I'm 22) that act like 7 year olds at recess. Not that they don't have a right to, I just don't connect with that.

@NeumanProductions Ah! I haven't see that deadliest warrior yet!

That almost sounds more like Maximum Overdrive than Romero.
Awesome! :p

+Dana Gomez there some sexiest people out there sadly
That is the point. It gives them publicity and makes it easier for them to actually enter the field.
I wonder if these guys consider george r.r. martin as a world builder
I can hear the alucard in his voice o-o

Interviewer talks way too much.
