Great drive and chat! Have you seen green and blue road color signs in Malaysia and Thailand? They have different meanings. In Malaysia, green means expressway and blue means federal and state highway. For Thailand, green means toll free motorway and blue means tolled motorway. It is one of the fewest Asian country to have road two color signs similar to some European country.
Thank you for the comment! I've read this tunnel in particular used a number of novel techniques, plus it was extremely expensive and the Czech economy was not in the best shape in the 1980s like most Eastern Bloc countries. In my city (Barcelona) we also have tunnels that took decades to build because we had our own big recession :)
it took long time because the tunnel was designed as civil defence shelter in case of war. There are more tunnels and rooms around it and its also connected to Metro B, anyway only a small part of the complex was built. The economy of Czech Republic at late 80s and 90s was also not doing well, originally there was supposed to be third tunnel, but it wasnt built due to financial reasons as well as part of shelter.
Hi, the Blanka tunnel complex is made of several tunnels that begin at junctions but are connected to each other. They are named after the neighborhood above each one of them. It is indeed quite unusual, most continous bores have just one name.
My videos are monetized so there's always mid-video ads. I try not to put them too close together as too many of them can ruin the user experience, but lately I've had YT do the job for me (it's the default option when you upload a video). I will check the ad placement just in case the Algorithm screwed it up.
Drove this one last year and I wanna go back to record in october. The city ring hasn't changed as far as I can see.
I watched your video and that's why I wanted to do my own version :)

This is interesting, France and Italy do also have this particularity.
Really nice video! How come one of the tunnels took such a long time to build, from 1977 to the early 90s?

@@RoadsofEuropeverreme That's understandable, tunnels are difficult to construct even under the best circumstances.
@@compdude100 there wasn't nearly as much traffic back then either so there was no need to rush it

Thank you for the comment!
Why did the last tunnel have 3 names?
Cause so far i can see is it just one tunnel cause you don't go outside and you don't change from highway too.

Thank you both!

Holy shit, so many ads!! :D
Hi, you mean in the video or on the road?
Blame UA-cam. This is why I have an ad blocker
