You still have to pay maintenance costs on your units. Overall, I think it's better to play as Matthias Corvinus. Every time he levies units from city states, he gains 2 envoys. Also, the units have +2 movement and +5 combat strength. And combined with foreign ministry, it reaches +9 combat strength, and it only costs like 50 gold to levy large armies of modern infantry, rivalling the size of Deity-AI armies. With merchant confederation, the envoys also increase his income. This also becomes powerful much earlier. In fact, he can even ensure he becomes suzerain; after establishing the first envoy, move Amani to that city-state. As Suzerain, levy units. Now, with the additional envoys, you remain suzerain even after moving Amani away. With this, you can gain a new city-state every 5 turns. So Matthias increases his income, secures control over city states and gets countless extremely fast super-units who cost no maintenance, are extremely cheap to levy, cost almost nothing to upgrade and don't require resources to upgrade either. Without even building any units of my own since the ancient era (Purely to fight Barbarians before I met city-states), I managed to conquer Deity AI Alexander and Basil within the Renaissance, with an invasion of the Ottomans starting in the Industrial Era. In non-stop consecutive wars without having to build units or pay for maintenance costs. And I was making over 3,000 gold per turn, with several hundred being from envoys.

Harrogate Yorkshire Tea Headquarters. If this game has a ‘motivation’ mechanic, it boosts it by 1.
I watch this, and I imagine the "we require more minerals" arc with carbot animations for starcraft...... yeah thise were the days
There's Potato's way
Then there's this way
I bought Civ. 6 because I loved Civ 5 so much, but never liked 6 very much. This was exactly as helpful of a how to video as I was expecting a Spiff video to be. Maybe I'll pick up 6 again and just have fun with all the exploits! Lol
if you want we can go online with a group of others?. maybe there are mopre commenting on this one
How to make my day better: new video from Spiff.
I was just re-watching a bunch of my favorite videos of yours because there was nothing new and I was wishing there was and then boom I go on lunch at work and here you are lol
*Sips Coffee Defiantly* I have a friend that plays Civ and AoE and he was shocked when I showed him how you broke those games. Keep up the entertaining vids.
With Spiff's war against the world breaker Gandhi, and with his amusing starting position as well as cavalry, Spiff has now reimagined the Toyota War in Civ 6.
I have never been this early.
Cheers to all my tea loving friends! :)
This is semi-related: always turn on "show resource yields" under map details unless you memorize all of the tiles after a while.
0:11 Me (who started playing 2 days ago) : No i most definitely do not lmao

In any game spiff will find a way to turn it into a British empire #2 simulator

Ah nothing like ending my Friday off by watching some totally balanced game play from my favorite jazzy English gentleman.
I play an ultimate defensive passive play style, I would love to see how it fairs against that monstrosity lol. Even the cheating AI on hardest difficulty all together cant uproot me.
What's your strategy?
Well met, Redcoat! Nothing can uproot the force of the soldiers of *THE GLORIOUS BRITISH EMPIRE!* like yourself.
"[...] Generic Desert tiles were yielding Science for us. Well now (guess what), they're yielding Faith!"
Your Civilization discovered that the HIggs-Boson particle is what provided Mass to the universe, so they decided to attend it.
This man needs to play stellaris again
This game is now in in the Humble Bundle, perfect timing for me to try the game and watch this video, cheers Spiff!!
Day 159 of asking Spiff to play Battle Realms. Perfect timing, Humble Bundle had Civ 6 platinum edition for Humble choice this month.
Damn, that would be great. Certainly one of my childhood favs

Civ Ghandi: you only need nonviolent resistance if violent aggression doesn’t work first
Guys it's true, if you give Spiff your banking info he will invest it in off shore accounts so the IRS can't touch it. Truly a gentleman and a scholar, I'm excited!
YES ANOTHER CIV EXPLOIT YESSSSS
It’s hilarious because I started the exact same way. Immediately knew I didn’t want it to get in the way of my city making ability. Might’ve even created my first two cities in the same places as you did
I swear Mansa "The Wide" Musa is the origin of a ton of exploits.
Oooooh a new civ 6 video?! I had been a feared that The Spiffing Brit was out of civ vi exploits!
Hmm Yes , indeed

I love your animated character. In some instances it looks like Jimmy Carr to me.
What UI mod do you use to get the city purchasing and production tabs combined? (Faith, Gold and Production purchasing of units and building etc)
Three things make Spifftopia great. Faith, steel, and gunpowder.
I’m not even a gamer and I enjoyed watching this 😂❤️
You haven't watched this
Spiffing brit: want to break the game?
Me: yes
Spiffing brit: then mod the game and reroll your starting location to give you the greatest advantage!!!
Me: um..
Fantastic exploit, but it's entirely based on a nod-balanced mod.
I'll say it every dang time. Spiff comes out with a civ vid and it's movie night!
Good thing I got it for free so I can play along!
spiffing brit being kind by breaking ingame civilisations rather then in real life ...for now
Does this still work now, jully of 2022?
