- Teleferic cable car in Alanya - Turkey - I'm going down + beautiful sunset.
In August 2017, the Teleferic cable car opened in Alanya. The cable car is 300 meters high and its route is 900 meters long. It is equipped with 17 carriages that can accommodate a maximum of 6 people, so it can transport over 1,000 passengers per hour of operation. It is open every day from about 9 a.m. until late in the evening. Please remember that the cable car may operate at different hours depending on the month; after the summer season, i.e. at the end of October, it is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Teleferic is located on Kale Hill, next to the famous Cleopatra Beach, and next to Damlataş Cave. The ride takes a few minutes. The cable car is very quiet, modern and the ride is stable, passengers do not feel any shocks. The ride to Kale Hill is pure pleasure, the views are truly amazing: Cleopatra's beach, the sea, a panorama of Alanya and the mountains, you must have a camera or phone nearby because the photos and videos from the cable car ride are beautiful, especially if you manage to capture the sunset. .
Ticket prices for the Teleferik cable car
Ticket prices also depend on the month and may vary slightly depending on whether the trip is during or after the season. You can buy a two-way ticket (entrance - exit; tr: gidiş- dönüş) and its cost in 2020 is 28 TL, approximately €4, or a one-way ticket only (tr: tek yön tam) and its price is 22TL , about €3. Children from 0 to 6 years old have a free ticket, but you must have a document confirming the child's age. In Turkey, a child's age is calculated based on his or her year of birth.
The Teleferic cable car takes you to the top of the Kale hill, protruding into the sea, where there are historical remains of a castle, defensive walls, and an 18th-century mosque that you can enter. After reaching the upper station of the cable car, there are wooden stairs and platforms that will show us the way to reach our destination. At the top there are several places where you can take a beautiful photo with a view of Alanya and cafes where you can drink Turkish coffee, quench your thirst with a cold drink or eat something. Local Turkish women also sell handmade embroidered dresses or handbags there, you can buy handmade gourd lamps or local food products there.
The Teleferic cable car in Alanya, compared to other cable cars, is not only a pleasure to ride, unforgettable views, but also the opportunity to visit the castle and learn about the local culture, so when on holiday in Alanya you cannot miss it.
