I am from ingleshie alata british accra jamestown & bukom boxing is in our blood we are the true epitome of african warriors
raw emotion when he cried n said he wanted to do it for his parents that's how I feel too they done soo much for me
The fight scenes with the kids are really well done. The younger brother is so intense (lol at his face at 6:00) and you can see the dad living and dying with every jab.
amazing doc vice can do no wrong
I follow Ghanaian media all the time, I knew the people of Bukom were obsessed with boxing but I didn't know they manufactured world champions repetitively. Good job on this documentary Vice. Opened my eyes.
I'm so happy he won!!
+conejo nejo spoiler alert
Yea bro thats not really cool...
Are you guys idiots or something? you read the comments before you watch the video? thats on you, dumbasses
Wow what a documentary, this was some great stuff right here.
Fitness is like church to them, its amazing
+Gabriel Rosales more like this happens before church... there is no replacing church in ghana
I cried after this episode... like no bs...
Thank you sooooo much for this!!!
Very great documentary, what sets this particular documentary apart from the rest is that it is genuine. Keep up the original Vice.
Damn this was a good documentary!!! Standing ovation!
If Ghana had more funding in boxing and soccer they would be among the best in the world.
any other fighters tear up when they saw richard commey say he just wanted to win it for his family, that moment was deep just like all of us fighters he just wants to make it to make his family proud
one of Vice's best documentaries
love my country
Keep videos like this one coming Vice! Loved watching it!
That kid jab at 7:50 is on point
Got chills towards the end, I'm not a big fan of boxing by any means but this documentary was amazing.
vice really out did itself on this one, bravo.
First documentary Ive watched thats had me on the edge of me seat in a long time
Just shows you that with hard work, anything is possible. no matter where you are in this world
What a treat to see Azumah Nelson. What a legend!
I love the sport of boxing and it's awesome to see my African brothers in a positive light
Good Documentary=]....
An Amazing Documentary!!!
Proud to be Ghanaian and have family in Bukom!!!
AMAZING JOB A++++ GRADE. TELLING BUKOMS STORY BUT NYC IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE BOXINGS MECCA.
Great documentary ! Best ive seen so far by vice
I'm Ghanaian who was born in Canada and I didn't that the GA tribe liked boxing so much. These kids training are gonna be beasts when they grow up. I wonder if my parents tribe the Ashantis like Boxing this much as well.
Yeah, all the boxing houses and the great boxers are from Gã areas.
Ashantis don't do boxing & cannot fight
I just love how the boys' father chose to speak Ga even tho he can probably speak English. Wɔ ka ha ni Blɔfo a replace wiemɔ kraa
This is one of the only ads I never skipped. Incredibly interesting!
SO emotional.
phenomenal
i have a feeling this is the beginning of the best sports documentary series to ever grace the public view

richard commey is someone that deserves fame n fortune and will be an excellent champ, its great to see humbling, amazing people succeed.
best documentary ever, and i dont know how the fuck they did it on a vice budget. Just goes to show anything is possible with the right personnel
Selema Masekela is the man and it's awesome to see him being a part of cool shit again.
I just can't get over how amazing this documentary was. Please make many more like this.
Wow.. Many young fighters in Bukom trying to get a big title shot to fight In Vegas, Meanwhile, I sat and watched this awesome and motivational documentary on my android in my bedroom here in Vegas
Africa breeds the strongest people on this planet. So much respect and admiration for the culture within Bukom. Everybody could learn something from this documentary, it is truly a compelling film.
Well done, VICE.
Good luck to Commey!
God bless all my Black Stars
And their witchdoctors.
If I spoke for God to bless all the Black Stars that would include Witch Doctors and so forth and so on Genius. Before you address a King bemindful my time is to be used wisely.
+The Thrill So you want God to bless the witch doctors and also the players, with their wicked, manipulative Juju practicing ways?
BTW, what "King" would be spending his time on UA-cam addressing brief fly-by remarks?
Sal Masekala? I dig that, Hes great at this kinda stuff
VICE needs more stuff like this. I became a follower of VICE because of things like this.
Boxing aside Now this is what a successful African community can look like..
i really dig the fact they had a black man do the interview thats was a nice touch
+Shawn C Gomez This guy delivered, but I wonder how different would've it been for a person of any other race. If people in Bukom don't like them, It would've been hell of a beating, boxing-style. Amazing documentary nevertheless, and very motivating.
Alex_P what exactly do you mean bro.
Well he's also African, that's Hugh Masekela's son
Champions in the making, much love, and respect to the people of Ghana:)
I think this video just changed my life.
There's a huge Ghanaian community in the Bronx, NY. I wonder if thats the connection with the Bronx Boxing Club.
this is good stuff. my respect to all of this people.
great job on this documentary..now this the vice we like
One of the best docs from vice!!

VICE please do more documentaries like this that depict the real human condition we can all relate to even if we like or don't like the particular occupation . Nice interviewer and lovely story and I love boxing no sport as more aspects of life in it than it(relatively speaking off course there's Muay Thai etc
This is inspirational on a whole 'nother level.!
So Good
awesome documentary!
Great Episode

Fucking Amazing Documentary
Amazing documentary! Love ur camera work too. Idk about us producing the most world champs per capita tho, what's ur source on that? I could find it. Nonetheless, I can't thank u enough. Oyuwaladɔng!
Like soo many things went right with this.. just an epic job, and I personally couldn't be prouder rn. "Kaa f77 lofl7!!" (Ga proverbs ftw)
Crabs don't birth birds😂😂🤣❤️

These are a people united.
Joshua closing shit as a fighter 😂😂😂
Toughest place in the word

Great Job Vice and the reporter looks like Quentin Miller
lmaoooooo meek took another L
Damn that's amazing there about it
what's the song were it shows like the whole city of people doing calisthenics?
Had to rewind that fight scene. What a perfect way to end a moving series. Does anyone know the name of referee, though? I've seen him in a few fights but never knew his name.
Not "series"...
So THIS is where Vice went. Fuck yes...
Good luck kid!!
This shit is official
Very healthy
Modern day warrior nation
How can this guy say it's a wonder that there are so many champion boxers coming from there. They're athletically gifted africans who don't have luxury of doing most activities, so of course if they train boxing for half of the day they're gonna become great.
dope
I never wanna hear another American athlete complain about how hard it was in streets again after watching this
i know right. that getto in America is like the middle class in Ghana
DAMN RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
Azuma Nelson and Ike quarte are from akra
ghana waddup
