Alex-A lollol I appreciate that hahaha so many reviewers either don't realize that saying alexa a million times is annoying for us viewers with alexa or their doing it intentionally just to be an asshat!!! Thanks for the info, it was definitely informative!
Doing a masterful job of explaining how to set things up on every possible device under every option. Wyze needs to hook you up with a lot more then just a couple bulbs...
Great review! I ordered a couple of these to see how they compare to my Phillips Hue bulbs. Not having to use a bridge would be nice. And thanks for the bonus light switch covers mention. I definitely need some since the living room light is set to turn on when it gets dark but fails almost daily due to my wife inadvertently flipping the switch to off. I dig your Whataburger shirt too. :-)
I already use the same switch guards. While there are other ways to protect the switch, these are aesthetically pleasing but pricey. But the time it saves reprogramming your lights is well worth it. Remember, power cycling your smart bulb sets it back to 100% white light.
Excellent video, thanks. These lights are useful if you are often out of the house or on vacations. Sadly, they are not yet available over here in the UK. As soon as they become available, I will get some to try out. Thank you again for another exciting video.
Nice review as usual. What I think wyze forgot to do was make the wyze sense available as a device in the alexa app. Its not coming up. I love the Philips hue started with the hue and its been consistent. I am able to see all the Philips devices in the Alexa app. I set routines for the philips sensors so it can announce it on my echos. Like the front door sensor.
@@LifeHackster And cheap! I sold my Samsung SmartCam that I bought 4 years ago for $280 to use as a baby monitor. It wasn't as fast and didn't have all the features the $20 Wyze cam does.
I also received my Wyze Bulb four-pack as part of the early adopter program, but never experienced a crashing issue...and mine also needed to be upgraded to the latest firmware. Love mine, except that the Alexa app shows the warmest color space as “Warm White,” but within a couple of seconds kicks it back to “Soft White.” They should get together and talk. 😉
Same here. No crashing of the app for me. Might be a bug issue related to his phone. I know a little while back that Wyze Pan cameras had a bug that would make it so the speaker on them was not functioning with certain brands of Android phones. This could be similar. They were very open about the bug, and we're also quick to patch it. Great company
I’m planning on using the sensors on my closet doors around the home so when the door opens the lights automatically open. Do you think this will work? Also, I will put some covers on the light switch so no one can turn them off.
So can I set up a routine on just Alexa? Or do I need to set it up in both the wyze app AND Alexa? Also I can use the sensors like an alarm?... could I set it up so that if a door/window sensor is opened during specific hours, then a light switch would turn on, and the Alexa device would make some type of an alarm sound? Thanks for doing this review! The best one I’ve watched so far 👍
You can set up a routine with alexa instead of the app... but the bulbs needs to be setup first in the app...as to triggering an alarm..not with Alexa.. probably you can integrate it with a Wifi alarm or siren and connect it via IFTTT.
Just got these. I setup a wyze camera without the app crashing. Will have to see if it crashes with light bulbs. I can see how smart switches are better but more effort to install and it would need to be a dimmer switch, not sure how you would control light temperature. If the smart switch stops working it could be more of a hassle vs unscrewing a light bulb. Switches should last longer though.
Can you please address in more detail how this works with multiple people in the residence - family and guests. Can the lights be adjusted (on/off/dim/warm/cool) without the mobile device on site?
Really surprised that all smart lightbulb brands haven't started including a wall switch in their line up that is essentially just a wireless remote control, letting power always go through and the switch just sending on-off commands. Also disappointed that wall and bulb smart switch makers haven't included a Lutron "Pico"-like remote control option so you don't have to turn on your phone or talk to alexa/google to turn off lights. I still use old school remote controlled wall plugs for nightstand and floor lights in bedrooms as opening phone apps or talking is a lesser solution.
I am waiting for the Wyze smart switch that is supposed to be released soon in the future. I hope you can do the review on that product when it is released! (= Thank you!
OK I have found MY fix to this problem and Maybe this will help. I was using my android LG G6 and had tried everything to get this to work. Turned off mobile data, disabled 5G…rebooted the router…but nothing worked…until I decided to try my wifes Iphone 6 plus…It worked flawlessly from the get go…WTH…as much as I bash the IPhone this one got me stumped. Any one care to explain that one to me?
It’s sucked ! Scheduling doesn’t work - try every which way to program it! Called Wyze support few times for help, still doesn’t work ! Feel like I know more than them ! All update firmware doesn’t do any improvements !

I’m so glad I found your channel. Very informative and love the ideas you provided.
Fantastic review! I installed my 4 set last week and love it so far. I had no idea we can use the sensor to turn the bulb on.
Yes.. the integration between the Wyze sensors and the bulbs work pretty good with little to no delay.
I love my wyze bulbs! They work great with the wyze sensors. I have them in my closet triggered by the door sensor.
They are pretty responsive with the sensors...
When do they turn off?

Very practical advice. Thank you

These switch guards works pretty good..
What about the wenze sense ? Why dont they appear and perform actions with google or Alexa ?

I like your opening theme 👍👍.
Thank you.
Always love the videos lifehackster. Would love more HomeKit stuff.
I need to check HomeKit out...

Try disconnecting the Wyze skill and associating it again and Alexa will find the lights.
Thank you for helping me connect my Wyze Bulb to Alex A!! So helpful!
12:47 I have a nest cam with floodlights are used a key light switch so no one can shut the power off to the floodlight by accident
Cool. I’m all in with Wyze products.

Hi thanks for sharing ,
Question : can Alexa or echo show announced that front door or back door open if wyze door sense open
Not yet at this time.
LifeHackster thanks for the quick reply

True..yes smart switches will not be able to change color temp of bulbs..
Is possible to plug it to a 220v socket?
Can you please address in more detail how this works with multiple people in the residence - family and guests. Can the lights be adjusted (on/off/dim/warm/cool) without the mobile device on site?
As 11 11 said... yes they can be adjusted via echo or google devices without the app.

WYZE is coming out with switches? As in the wall electrical toggle switches?
I hope they will..
What smart switch do you recommend?
Does it also work with a hub? Like phillips hub?
No, it doesn’t need a hub..
I am waiting for the Wyze smart switch that is supposed to be released soon in the future. I hope you can do the review on that product when it is released! (= Thank you!
Definitely I will.

You are welcome.
Great Review of the Wyze products I just subscribed to your channel Salamat Po
Lool Alex-A. 😂👍👍
Because I will get a lot of comments if I mentioned Alexa.. so we will go with Alex-a from now on :)
@@LifeHackster works for me, and it brings a smile to my face lol😄
Clever way around random triggering of Echo devices... "Alex-A" well done. These bulbs look promising, will wait for colored version however.
I’m hoping they will release multicolor bulbs..
@@LifeHackster You probably already know this, but they did release a color version! :)
Every UA-cam video I see they always bleep out when they say Alexa. Is it copyrighted or something
So as not to trigger the devices in our homes.
sunlee79 oh ok
if you have Wyze plugs -> how about a quick review? Pair them with the Wyze bulbs?
I might check it out eventually.
Watching this while eating garlic fried rice two fried eggs 3 pieces of longanisa.
Lol..:)
What-a-burger!
:)
Thank you for not saying Alexa.
You are welcome. :)
