I'm currently sitting in a hotel room in Amsterdam waiting to go and see the show tonight - only about 5 hours to go! I've used the last of my leave for the year (and most of my savings )and flown here for 1 night just to see this gig. It's going to be odd going by myself but, strangely, when you ask people if they want to spend a few hundred quid to go and see a 74 year old drummer playing 50 year old songs in Amsterdam, they turn you down. Bunch of weirdos!
Hope you enjoyed yourself. It's not strange at all. What is life! life is all about living and absorbing memorable moments to treasure. Full filling a wish list of seeing Nick Mason playing Pink Floyd songs never played before ( well at least 45 years ago), is a ultimate high for a Floyd fan. That is not weird, simply pursuing a passion. I,m sure many Floyd fans would have likedto attend the concert, and experienced the event with you.

I saw this show in the Sony Center in Toronto. Great sound in there for a masterpiece like this. My buddy & I have seen many, many shows, we both said that is was the absolute best live musical experience that we've had. Stellar. So grateful to have seen this.

They only play the Syd Barrett era Floyd songs. It's because Nick thought they were neglected - because Roger Walter's and Dave Gilmour only really play 70s Floyd songs

I feel like the reason Mason keeps playing Barrett era and pre-DSOTM titles is because it reminds him of happier times before the Waters vs Gilmour feud and the subsequent death of the band
Probably the period hes most proud of aswell, listening to Nick's drumming post 77 isn't the same as pre.

Watching a corpse playing a mirror Tele always brings a tear to my eye.
Seeing music from Atom Heart Mother played live in 2019 is certainly emotional for fans. Especially when the drummer is in his 70's and playing from their catalogue that is WAY overlooked.
T'wud be a 4ckin' miracle. He died in 2006.

At least Rick let his musicians express themselves in the pink floyd's spirit. No like the Roger Water's cover's band who plays note by note the album version.
ExJinx Roger can never do right to some people, through his earlier solo tours he always changed up the music in certain ways, letting his band express their music through classic floyd tunes, and then it was ”ooh roger is changing the music, it sounds so bad, he should just stick to the classic stuf.. etc” and now it’s the opposite complaints when he chooses to stay faithful to the classic tunes..

Roger has played a bit with Dave, also jamming here with Nick, why don't they just re-unite and play Glastonbury.
Although Jon Carin would be a suitable substitute for Rick, when he died, David said Live8 was the final reunion and that there are some PF songs he'll no longer be able to play, although he does continue to perform Syd and Ricks songs.
