Blows my mind that a LOT of Ministry "fans" hated this album simply because it didn't sound exactly like Psalm 69. Sounds pretty killer to me.
Agree 100%! This album rocks PERIOD
Can understand it.
I 've also been shocked but I've learned to love it with the help of time.
Reload, Lava and Dead guy are killers!
I let a friend borrow this album. He lost it. I pushed him on the ground and made him beg for mercy. It was great.
@@thomasfleischer83 I had this album then Scott faulkner decided to eat shit.
It's the good stuff. Alright partner
One of the most infectious riffs ever written, period.
......OH YEAH
I agree
Check out "Double Dare" by Bauhaus. I'm not claiming that Ministry copied them, but there's an influence to be heard.

Agreed 🤘
I never tire of it.
Do you like this riff? You’re gonna be listening to it for the next six and a half minutes. Fortunately, I love it.
Just like John Stanier in Helmet, Rey Washam was able to add some rhythmic displacement with the drum beat, turning an otherwise repetitive riff into something mesmerizing. "Vaccination" on Helmet's Betty does something similar with the drums:

Fucking love Helmet also
😂😂 are you new to industrial and or techno?
Take me to the top by Lover Boy riff
This riff is fucking hypnotizing. I love it
So hard, and heavy. One of the best tracks from one of their best albums. Highly underrated.
This album was a gift to folks like me who love Melvins, Eyehategod, Acid Bath, Iron Monkey etc. I love every Ministry album but this one has a special place for me.
Yassss Acid Bath!
Their best album to me
This album was a departure for me. I was used to their earlier stuff. I now rank this one one of my top five from Ministry.
Acid Bath is the best band of the 90's hands down.
Sounds like Godflesh
This album is heavily underrated
True. I never understood why. It’s got 5 awesome songs. Heavy, loud and immersive.
I've been given another reason to live, this riff is addicting
This song hits you like a train.
The train that goes from Havana to Oslo!
I love how much the harmonica is used throughout this album
Yea I love the southern blues touch that has found its way into numerous tracks.
YESSSSSSSSSSS, from 1996 to 2023, still this LAVA flowing and scorching everything, GREAT !
My favorite album of all times
Amen.
Amen.
Ministry is and always be one if the best bands in the world
Been listening to this album since college, its one of my favourites. There's a kind of minimalist genius to it I reckon. This song in particular is is so savory. Its like a big, doughy thick-crust cheese pizza. You nom it for 6 and a half minutes until its all gone, and although there isn't much variance in it, there doesn't need to be. Its just solid, tasty, and soooo good.
Chicago pizza
FILTH PIG is one of Ministry's best albums
This song has DAT BASS, raw shit
I got this album for 1 penny from BMG back when it came out.
Best penny I ever spent!!!
I also got so many from bmg... Signed my mom up. Sister. Brother. Every friend I had. Loved that 💩..

Excellent 👌 🤘😝🍻 Fuckin lov it!!

69 thumbs up. Let's keep it that way!
Favorite Ministry album, hands down.
If I had to list my top ten albums this album would def. Be on it.
I bought this the day it came out at Tower Records and that night, by a one in a million coincidence I ate some mushrooms for the first time ( there wasn't much of anything that I hadn't tried by then, but shrooms were one of them) that night, I opened the CD, laughed when I saw the big mushroom, pressed play, and by the middle of this song, everyone was like "what the hell is that shit?!? It sucks!! Except me and my best friend at the time, we were staring at the stereo (yeah, back then there were these gigantic things called stereos)
My cousin showed me this album when I was 12 it took me years until I was 32 and high on cocaine to understand its essence.
@@Ruffnek310 I shelved this CD for years and then a Utah road trip. Now it's a top 5 fav.
I do not know why Ministry fans hate this album-the mind boggles!
I’ve ventured into this album during trips and shrooms years ago myself. 🥳👅 🍄
Haha yeah, I've seen interviews with Al and he says they were so deep into the heroin he doesn't remember any of the studio time and recording except for tossing everything paul barker and the drummer wrote, called them the book club Lmao!
But I think there are some albums that on some cosmic level that we don't understand have to materialize. Another being Megadeth's Rust in Peace, there are youtube videos where Dave is interviewed and he can't explain how most of that album came into being, it just flowed out.
Just discovering Ministry and their colorful discography, and holy shit, insane how they went from everyday is a halloween to Jesus built my hot rod, thieves, this, to search and destroy.
so what
@@gabrielisaac5084 Insider joke? :D
Congratulation! A separate world to explore. Enjoy!
That's what makes ministry amazing to me. Each album you get something new. A new atmosphere and perspective.

“So What” is a Ministry song lol.
If I ever had to go to into the battlefield, I want this to be the soundtrack.
This album helped get me through my teen years y'know now my kid likes it too
I was just thinking about this song so yeah
Good stuff
This has actually got to be 1 of the best songs of heard. Ministry need a lot more credit!
By far their best album
Definitely one of their best albums alongside Psalm 69. 2023 and uncle Al's still going strong🤘🏻
This is so fucking brilliant, it sounds more Industrial Sci-Fi Goth each time I listen to it...truly epic audio experience 💪👌🧠💅🏼💋💅🏼🌹
Why do you type like a handicapped person?
@@eoea1078 that’s actually really funny
I feel stoned with this song , it's great with or without a bottle of whisky.
I love this, slower ministry are awesome
Found this cd in a pawn shop when I was a kid for $3. No regerts!
15 bucks the year it came out, at a CD store. No regret!
I bought this back in the day cool album
Me too, when I was 15. Sadly, I hadn't heard this song til 37
And yet now we listen to everything on UA-cam. If I can get ahold of the CD I will listen to it, but otherwise, have to go to UA-cam.
When im pissed i listen to Ministry and their music just washes the anger off immediately
It's quite impossible not to groove alongside this song..... whether or not you are a Ministry fan.... GREAT ALBUM!
My god, I listen to this and I REBECOME the GOTHIC PUNK I have always been (since about 1982). THis SHIT ROCKS!!!
Best Ministry song ever
Come on, this song is good, but there are absolutely others that are better.
This is still my favourite Ministy album , but by far ... one of the things which I loved the most about this album was the way it completely alienated all the ´Ding - a- dang my dinga ding long ` type of trendies and wimps which ´ Psalm 69 ` attracted !
Masterpiece
Impossible for Al make a bad album. Most people didn't like this album but this is still leagues better than any recent top ten bullshit they play on mainstream rock stations.
Fuckin great album. The layers oh my god.
MINISTRY IS JUST 10/10 🗿🔥🔥🔥🔥
This and ‘Dead Guy’ are my favourite songs on the album.
Crumbs
Same taste!
Game show & Useless for me although the whole album is superb to be fair!
Love playing this bassline.
I love this album. Ministrys my all time favorite band since 1990. I know this wasnt a "Fan Favorite ' but i think its a solid record. Lava:is is a brutal track.
best of the album
The harmonica track in this song sounds like the siren song used for roll call inside a medieval prison buried deep under Beelzebub’s man cave.
For some reason, I'm reminded of Zep's When the Levee Breaks.
They do not (and I stress *DO NOT*) make albums like this anymore...
This song helped me drown out the pain of a tooth ache on several occasions, and that’s serious. Literally took my mind off the pain. Didn’t try hard either. I just focused on the meaning of this song and a tooth ache doesn’t feel so bad. Look at me, my whole body aches, just from being alive.
I just took off work for a killer toothache…hmmm…*cranks volume*
@@aviolentreaction9344 it helped didnt it

I always had a change of mood when I was listening to this when it came out. I was in the take over the world kind of mood.
Ministry is insane
If I were a professional wrestler this would be my theme song \m/
You'd have to call yourself Hot Lava lol
Ministry should have been way bigger then they were.
Agreed. Such an underrated band in the mainstream. However, they have a huge cult following that keeps attracting new fans. Shame on the radio stations!
Why? How much bigger do you want them? Michael Jackson status? You really think they're worthy of that?
@@TheBigMclargehuge
yes they are actually
Love the 90s metal
Only fools would dare to dislike this decade of metal.
I adore Ministry..SO WHAT is one of the songs I appreciate so much... Ministry is like God to me!
@Vaniq It's the song about the immortal immorality of the chosen ones..if you know what I mean...and SO WHAT if you disagree or something.
Ministry the cure for everything
Everyone who was early Ministry loved this shit. Low down sludge. This album saved me through my early uni wtf moments…
This album been in my pioneer deck for years........
This album is lightning in a bottle!! I just can't fake like their new stuff.Ministry and Revco reminds me of a franchise now!!!
The Riff & Upbeat Tempo Come Straight From Hell!!!
Dark and heavy brilliant song 🔥😎🤟🏻
This was one of my fave albums in HS in the 90s.
Love this so addicted .just close your eyes. And let ur mind go. What a trip. Mind blown.
Très bon morceau !
This rocks
yet another beautiful crowbar classic!1!!!!!one!
bruno stroszek dude, if anything crowbar ripped off Ministry so get over yourself
All I had I gave...lmfao
Fuck everybody this is MY shell
@@francisbottoni6470 neither one ripped each other off. Not sure why dude is hung up on crowbar particularly, this just has a general sludge/doom vibe to it. And for the record I love crowbar
The floor is lava.
Right now, this song is everything to me.
@Alex Hall Al Jorgensen is the father I never had.
@Alex Hall be healed be healed
@Alex Hall You first.
are you healed yet? im not =(
Love that groove
Thiz tune be a good one ferz sinzter sundayz wake n bakez smoke break..lolz..
I play Ministry every night at my job and the Dead Kennedys and a bunch of other cool stuff people's faces and their reactions are priceless I guess they never heard real music before
They haven't... Taylor Swift is a product, not an artist
best song to get stoned too. seriously.. it doesn't change much and you can go with the flow......no pun intended.
Never been too thrilled by this album but if there ever was a song that evoked molten rock rolling down a volcano in small streams, this is it.
Not sure how I missed this one but I like it...class of 89
Love this ❤
I’m sure Al has been red pilled in 2022 and will come out with his best album yet. Cuz this world really F’d up now
I am confident your prediction was incorrect.
…yeah, no.
Great Song!!!
LAVA!
Nobody in history has ever captured the essence of heroin addiction ever. And may I be as bold to say EVER!!!!
Lou Reed, but other than that, nope cant think of anyone else.
@@dls3939 ill check him out. What song?
Oh shit nevermind. I did have him in mind too tho
@@matthewryan4344 The song Heroin on The VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO album. Their first one where Andy Warhol did the cover, its a banana, great abum. But he did a few more romanticising it and damming it in equal measures, like his Berlin album as Lou Reed.
@@dls3939 thank u brother. Maybe I should know this since I'm an avid follower of so many genres of music and I'm almost 38. Thank u for the enlightenment. I really appreciate it brother
Работал в 90 годах в компании Schlumberger на компрессоре который создавал давление в 1000 атмосфер для разрыва пласта и во время работы включал эту композицию, народ убегал по вагонам, то-ли от музыки, то-ли от такого давления прятались:-)
The riffs are as chunky and sluggish as real lava! LOVE IT! 😎🤘🍻
If you have a vinyl copy, play this track at 45 minus 8. Totally works.
Never heard of the band but saw the cassette in a public library. So, I checked it out, took it home and gave it a listen. LOVED it esp. Lava, Re-load and Brick Windows.
Here we goooo
Al is the shit love that dude
Still bangs in 2020
Remember waiting for this "filthpig" album which was delayed for reasons so redicilous really enjoyed it. So I might be one of them never expecting anything from an album or even compare albums!
This song goes so damn hard its a classic on this Album just like Filth Pig heavy as fuck! Its so epic! 3:50 to 4:20 just Epic!!

With our jaws open going "what the fuck...... whaaat the fuuuck" by the end of the CD it was the most magical music that was ever heard since the beginning of time. (I think that was because of the shrooms though!;)
I'm totally convinced that this is Anakin Skywalker's favorite song
Who here initially heard "Be healed" as "Piggy...PiGGYhehehe..." ?
Even worse, i kept hearing "Neeee heeee Neeee Heeeeeuuud"
Like Al was totally losing his shit in a manic laugh
From what I have heard, the sample isn't human. It's an remote controlled toy for kids, played backwards
"wheeee-hee"
I remember reading somewhere online in the early 2000s that it was "heat" but listening to it after all these years, it still sounded like "piggy" to me. It definitely sounds like he's saying "Be healed" now after reading your comment. I've been wondering about that since '96.
